  1. As Ayg said, this is generated server side, and as such, all you need to do is change the bookmark for google, it probably has www.google.com/page/is/not/here.html

wont make any difference changing web browser or dns resolvers, it's not the local computer (well, it is - as the URL is incorrect)....

  2. Khun Chaiwat and his brand new (red plate) 6 cylinder Honda.

    Another newly rich amateur racer.

    Lucky escape!

The bike/scooter drivers should donate to the temple!

Amazing that anyone would think that the owner of a Civic is rich. Why did you stick at the 6 cylinder exaggeration, why not label it a 12 cylinder, neither of them exist.

The Type-R Honda Civic has a V-6 option. There is no exaggeration here sir. Perhaps you should check facts before such a statement next time.

  3. There's two other problems arising that have put me off getting one for the wife;

Paint is chipping from the camera bezel

The accelerometer is overheating (caused by close proximity to the charge port) and locking in it's last good orientation.

We've decided to wait for HW revision 2.

  4. Everyday, around 8:00- 8:30 until 9:00 then again between (roughly) 11:30 and 12:00 I can't access the web,

Are you in the city? This sound to me like the mad rush office workers perform to check their email/Facebook etc before work hours commence, and during their lunch break. Your problem is with the shared infrastructure, not your equipment.

It may sound weird, but contention and traffic *does* increase during those times. I may have some traffic graphs to illustrate this - web browsing throughput doubles during lunch hour! (This was however for the city of Tokyo, but still a good example....it saturates a 1GB uplink briefly )

EDIT: Just dawned on me, it may not be the infrastructure, but web content filtering being oversubscribed. this will also slow down your web experiance.

  5. No advice on your problem, but PLEASE ask for the faulty main board. Something sounds fishy to me.

Touch screen = driver or screen digitizer issue, i'm not sure how the mainboard would impact this. Yes there could be circuitry on the MB that handles this, but just in case, you are entitled to take away the faulty parts....insist on it.

  6. I think from the OP's post, the problem was magnified because the taxi driver was a family friend ==> huge loss of face if rebuked in front of the wife ==> massive psycho attack etc.

This is the issue. On our way down to Hua Hin, we had another taxi driver (a much nicer guy whom drove smoothly and safely).

As we approached Hua-Hin 41 - from about 200m out he wanted to go into the inside lane. As i did not want to miss the turning , so i kinda verbally ripped him a new one. The wife was mortified so I shut up from there on in, and gave the guy a hearty wai when he finally dropped us off.

I guess i need to post in the motoring forum how insurance works for self drive on an international driving license at some point. I drive in the mooban daily, but will never get onto the main roads - thats her job. But even then we'll only drive locally. FiL won't let us drive long distance in the new car just right now....but that's going to change after I explained Mr Moron could have easily killed his daughter and grandson......

  7. Home! I had to stop posting and instead concentrate on driving from the passenger seat. We avoided side swiping a Nissan, and I was constantly reminding him 140km was not mandatory. The missus insisted we finish the journey so I just got him to slow down and had my eyes on a few cars in front.

I think next time i'll drive......

  8. We're on the way back to Bangkok from hua hin , just had a small collision, no visible damage to the car he hit. Taxi driver is refusing to stop and the other party is now following us with their hazards on.

    Am I doomed?
