  1. And spent here in Thailand by those involved in this fiasco.
  2. No it's not wrong. I hate these noisy look-at-me bikes. Many (Thai) owners deliberately hole their exhaust to draw attention to their wankerdom.
  3. They will be on the job as soon as they've finished drawing their overtime pay for reducing the daily road deaths to zero.
  4. STATS from WHO in BP yesterday! 'Each day from road crashes in THAILAND 60 (13 young) people die 2,500 (800 youth) are injured 500 are seriously injured (150 are young) 20 become disabled (7 youth)' Speeding/Drunk Driving/No police force; are the main causes.
  5. It doesn't matter what age they marry, Thai men desert their wives in droves at the onset of Morning Sickness; then pay nothing in maintenance leaving the new mothers to seek whatever work is available! AND I mean 'WHATEVER'.
  6. Yesterday WHO STATS: Each day from road crashes in THAILAND 60 (13 young) people die 2,500 (800 youth) are injured 500 are seriously injured (150 are young) 20 become disabled (7 youth)
  7. The farang was lucky it wasn't the usual 7-1 odds; are Thais getting braver? He's lucky his vehicle wasn't damaged - I had a piece of wood with a nail through it resulting in a new tire after I parked in a 'forbidden' place.
  8. Echo the above; it has provided endless hours of viewing. Here's 2 to look out for: Fool Me Once - from the Harlan Coben company; Series 2 of The Tourist - removed to Ireland from the land of Oz. Not seen either yet.
  9. 'Each day from road crashes in THAILAND 60 (13 young) people die 2,500 (800 youth) are injured 500 are seriously injured (150 are young) 20 become disabled (7 youth)' Figures from WHO. Imagine if RTP worked EVERY day not just the supposed 14 'DANGEROUS ones a year. Speed Kills; yet this offence is the one most easily eradicated with CCTV cameras everywhere IF the police had the will.
  10. According to a letter in BP today, deaths are running at 40 a day. A tribute to the dedication disinterest shown by police all year round.
  11. The 20% discount is to compensate customers for the extra six hours added to return journeys.
  12. 'Offers Free Parking for Travelers' meanwhile every other day it is almost impossible to get in to park - a queue forms & of course the VIPs go to the front & it becomes a free-for-all.
  13. The place has even fewer police than Pattaya's hapless half-dozen!
  14. That's the real cause there; if police did their job the rest of the year there would be no need to award them an overtime bonanza for looking at their phones all day whilst ignoring traffic offences ten yards away.
  15. I can't see the rush is necessary. 5 days under 180 feet of water leaves not much hope of survival.
  16. RTP making another procedural mistake! (They did it with the Red Bull brat Interpol application too.)
  17. I don't know what's brought on this diatribe. I stick by my original mild comment that I thought the Jacko's comment was witty/funny. I studied cancer by watching both my parents die of it but I can still appreciated wit about the topic.
  18. I got the word cure from the media headline in this thread - 'Deputy PM Somsak makes false claim over cancer cure'. This is where I get all my information as I cannot read written Thai nor understand spoken Thai sufficiently well. How do you get to your conjectural comment 'More likely he said something like help them live with cancer but par for the course on this forum, and the media, to distort the context to suit the agenda.'
  19. What's the meaning of the phrase 'Clutch at straws'? Try any route to get out of a desperate situation, no matter how unlikely it is to succeed. So the (new) Minister for Medicine posts a dubious claim that papaya can cure cancer on TV presumably whilst being paid appearance money (in a desperate attempt to justify his promotion?) What's wrong with bringing in reference to cannabis which is also supposedly good for cancer?
  20. 'Pattaya Police Intensify Inspections Ahead of New Year Celebrations' to clear space for a busy week spent staring at their phones whilst ignoring the myriad of traffic offences a few yards away. Did I mention overtime pay?
  21. All new luxury car orders should be completed before the end of January 2024.
  22. Do you want me to explain the idiom 'clutching at straws'?
