My next door neighbor had some rabbits, bought them for he son, but unfortunately being Thailand with all the stray cats around, they lasted about 1 week before they where dinner for a cat ...

Does anyone know the rough amount that this protest has cost the economy?

I'm due to fly out of Phuket Tuesday. Please keep the updates coming and if come Tuesday there is still a problem, I am open to sharing a car rental with anyone else that needs to get to BKK.

Good idea, as i would guess all the buses are jammed packed at the moment!

I believe if you rent through budget, you can even leave the car in BKK when you drop it off at the airport, so renting a car for a day only 1500 + 1500 Gas, so is spilt betwwn 4 less the a grand

Indeed, you'd be mental to join any side if the truth be told - one think jabbering on a forum, but openly supporting one side or another in a protest as a foreigner is downright dangerous.

With all the threads going on at the moment, please add your political comments whether they are support or bashing of the PAD here, thus we can keep the news threads clean.

Also i have added a poll to see who does or doesnt support the PAD on Thaivisa, please vote.....

When is it going to stop. who is going to back down. the poeple are baltenly doing illegal stuff the police are heavy handed. what will the king do. he can't go against the people yet the people are going crazy. will the army close down the coutry. has this priminister done anything illegal yet. what is the rest of the world going to do. what are they saying in britain and america

Long time Thai expats from "britain and america" have flown to Thailand at their own expense and joined the PAD protests.

Update at 11.30am:

Now some Thai friends who work in duty-free at the airport have been sent home and told that flights will not restart until at least 6pm.

Some PAD demonstrators are back at the main airport entrance again and have broken the glass windows of the car-park ticket booth. (Maybe they didn't want to pay for parking? )

Anyway, certainly not good news for tourists stranded here in Phuket and those unable to fly here for their holidays.

With Phuket Airport now closed down because of the PAD, i have just been informed that they are starting to form around Koh Samui to achive the same goal

I have just been called by a friend at Samui Airport, the PAD are gathering there as well....

There plan is to block all airports in Thailand......

I have just been told on the telephone about this now, as it has something to do with the PAD

Story goes that a policeman bashed an old lady PAD supporter, and then the ploice would not allow an ambulance to get through?...

This is turning messy if they are in Phuket now!

A friend of mine does the voice overs for the Disney Movies, also the ' Sing ' overs....

The pay is really bad as well, 5 K a day.

Sounds some-what like the government e-mail system , lights on but no-one is home , replies most noticeable by thier abscense .

If tourists where killed or injured, they will try there best to keep this quite from the media
