just come back from visiting the Spanish Version of Pattaya , Benidorm.... which in size is a lot bigger, with a much larger expat community

there a hundreds of high rise buildings there, and i visited a few and spent some time visiting the local area,,,

one thing that striked me was when i asked one of the local building managers, and a few friends there that with all the high rise buildings, expat ect there must be a number of ' jumpers ' every year !, and in response i was told very rarly !, and in that conversation i mentioned pattaya, which they where in shock over !

so why, against all the other major places in the world, does pattaya have sme many jumpers? , or are most just cover ups?

why dont they just limit the speed of the vans like every other country?

i went to a monks blessing once with the missis, again, drinking and load music from 5 am !!!, non stop for 2 days, her auntie actually drunk herself to death at this party, so you are right in your post, sometimes these parties actually cos more harm then good !

because the Visa Entry Clearence people will look at this, if she is 17 and he is say 21 and under, they will be ok, if he is say over 40 , they might not grant a visa as they know she is only init for the money !

there is an interesting programe on TV at the moment, been around a while call ' Border force ' , and they film in the UK consulates around the world .... and any one with a big age cap, or a young girl gets grilled alot !

so the step-son has both an expired british and thai passport

just in the process of getting a new british passport

as the thai passport is expired , and the missus and kid will be visiting shortly, does the child need to also renew the Thai Passport ( he is 7 )

Can he leave Thailand on a UK Passport, and arrive back on a UK passport, or does he have to leave thailand on a thai passport, enter and leave the UK on a UK passport, and enter back into thailand on a Thai Passport?

would just renew the thai passport, but this involves the original father signing in a provence far away which will be difficult

i think the main issue with samui, is after the events of 26th Dec 2004, Samui had an incredible influx of tourists, everywhere was packed, i even remember all the bars in Lamai you had to get there by 7 just to get a seat !, now all these bars are empty .. they built and built to accomdate these people, BKK put there air fair up !, and so did everyone, but no one decreased after the tourist returned to phuket ect ...

speaking with a client today, he was going to BKK for biz, and wanted to visit the beaches for some R and R before heading home, i suggested Phuket and Samui, tried to swing him into samui but he wouldnt go , main Reason 1 ) Price of Flight, 2) price of Accomodation .. and this guy isnt ' poor ' but he opted for phuket as they had deals !, which samui didnt !

for samui to move forward, they need to adjust to the current market,

not to intrude on the the post but samui does have its fair share of events, its just we have no media outlet who reports it !

i have seen a few times people coming out of Green Mango half dead from a Kick In , or Thais beating westerners to a pulp in Lamai, or a crazed gunman in central chewang or in the middle of fishermans village, not to mention bargirls murdering thier boyfriends only to be covered up or the hundreds of deaths a year on the roads here, which in fairness are ALL reported in Phuket and Pattaya , but not here !, if there was a local paper in english that reported all the goings on from assults to theft, to traffic accidents and murders, they could easily fill a 50 page newspaper every 2 weeks, and have a very actve website, but it is all hidden and hush hush ......... doesnt happen on samui

Let not blame BA here for the Taxes, it is the UK goverment, and no way around it !!!, but they did do an offer before, Biz class to HK or Singapore for 995 GBP taxes included, very good deal !

if the uk where to fall in line with the other EU countres , a standard ticket to BKK would drop by 100 or so pounds

The point being, that once registered, any further crimes like drugging, mugging etc, could have background for police and mug shots for victims to look at.
