  1. trouble is there make them bad on purpose ! , no one ever inspects the job they do, and as they need repairing all the time, guess what someone pockets a nice backhander...

i beleive the money they are given, they could build some fantastic roads, but after the contracts going through 5 different people, a 1 million THB Budget for instants is left with 50,000 THB for the actual job to be done !!!

Why has Boater changed from a black man to a cartoon to a little fat kid inside a year??

    He worries me.

  3. How is Chewang doing now?

If anything - at the north east end of Samui, it is even more crazy than at Christmas.

    Every villa rented.

    All hire cars booked

    All m/bikes booked

Larger hotels in the area - booked

Every day I am getting enquiries from people looking for a villa to rent - usually for 1 - 3 months. There is no let-up in sight until April earliest.

There is a definite move towards villa rentals for multiple months. All nationalities, but eastern european as the largest group

This is great news for villa owners !, as they will start to be yielding some good returns on thier Villas, just hope it doesnt have a backfire affect by them raising thier prices !

anyway, times are changing, and it seems Samui is becoming more upmarket, but reviews i am seeing , clients/tourist have no complaints against thier accomodation ect, but the basics of samui !, if the police sorted out the roads/scams/garbage there is really no reason why Samui could be the leding tourist destination of the world, but you would need a VERY active major who cares about the island , and not his own pocket !

  4. Well, there is always a first time.

I have just had to explain to a renter that he has to pay the rent again this month. The agent that he was paying the rent to has done a runner with it. (5 months into a nine month contract.)

He is not happy at having to pay rent twice this month. (I told him to pay it direct to me. Oh well.)

By the way - this agent was not one of my preferred/recommended ones. If you want the details - PM me.

This is a very unfortunate event, and i have rarely seen this happen on Samui, due to safty guards in place..

    quick few questions...

    1) Was the agent office based, and registered as a Thai Company? , or just someone who ' Refers ' clients?

    2) Why was the contract stated he paid the agent first and not your self? , as most agents will just act as introducers and paid off the back of that?

    3) Do you know why the agent did a runner?

    4) was he and the agent by any chance russian?

There does appear to be an influx of ' Cowboy ' Russian agents, who unless they are registered, i would strongly advise against dealing with, as they are nothing but trouble in the long run ... similar to the cowboy ' English ' agents that once occupied the island but are no more or less gone !

If you do own property in Samui, and do wish to rent it out, always use REGISTERED thai company rental agency , they may cost a bit more in commission , but they offer at least that bit more of a safty guard, as the have a reputation to hold, as well as a business ...

Just one last point, have you reported this to the Tourist Police? , as if you have all the contracts in Place, they will take this very seriously and will go after the agent for the money !, i have seen them act before on a simliar story, and they do act !

  5. I'm now branching out from writing shit jokes to movie reviews....

Today I watched the film Limitless. Limitless stars Bradley Cooper as Eddie Morra. Morra the main protagonist takes a pill, a pill which quadruples his IQ, allows him to learn several languages and acquire an immensely greater comprehension of the world in which he lives......

Basically, some American fuc_ker takes a pill, then he evolves into a European.

  6. rent the whole mini bus to yourself. buy all the tickets out on the bus. then bring some dvd's iand crew down business class.

probably cheaper than flying bandit airways

how about this interior for a visa mini bus

or if there is more then say 10 , should be comfortable here

  7. From 16 January 2012 The UK Border Agency in Thailand is introducing a priority visa service for visitors.

The priority visa service is available to visitors who meet specific criteria and who pay an additional fee to have their visa application placed at the front of the queue. The UK Border Agency in Thailand will aim to process all applications using the priority visa service within 3 working days of receiving them (although this cannot be guaranteed).

    Further information

For more information about this service and whether you meet the criteria please visit the UK Border Agency in Thailand website

  8. my 2 cents on the situation

I would agree. But many of the "Farang" real estate dealers are absolute crooks. One of them in Chiangmai sold our property and we never got paid. My advice would be to only deal with well known interantional real esate companies with a branch here.

there are no ' International ' real estate agents on samui ... both Savills and CBRE failed to conclude any sales, so had to shut down .... i think you should look at companies that have been established for many years, and are ' Internationally Accredited '

I didn't know you had to be qualified to be a estate agent.

No you dont, but some agents are accredited and qualified by RICS, REBA , AIPP and CIPS

Having tried to sell a property , I contacted several estate agents on the island.Talk about non qualified , arrogant, unprofessional bunch. Never met anyone like them, do not return calls, not keep appointments.

Have you look at the situation in a reverse view? , agents are contacted day in / day out with property for sale !, now the demand at the moment is for undervalue bargains, people are not going to pay above market value for a property, and alot of people who want to list their properties are so unrealistic with the price , it just wouldn’t sell !, now to go list the property, upload ect is a cost of time/petrol ect to the agent !, and if it isnt going to sell, what is the point? If you have a property that has demand from the market to purchase, the agent will defiantly be calling back and listing your property, i think you maybe just unrealistic with the price, or the location of your property

    These people are just cowboys.

or maybe you are just over speculating on the true value of your property, and agents can’t see it viable to list? , as they also then become discredited by putting up overpriced property?

  9. i noticed alot of premium economy seats can cost more then Biz Class !!, only exception is Eva , where you can get a deal for around 800 pounds to london... BA and Quantas, who code share anyway, charge around 1500 Pounds for premium economy seats to london - bangkok, but you can get Biz Class with emiartes for 1200 !

  10. i was reading the evening standard today which suggested there was 16, yes only 16 bike deaths within the whole of london last year, and this was unexceptable .... so much that they will be blocking traffic to get old borris to fix the problem, as there point is there shouldnt be any... now how much populated is london to samui? , yet samui has this death rate plus more monthly ? , yet NO ONE addresses the issue?

Samui does really need to address the problem and quickly .... samui as a small island go so easily go from 16 a month to 0 so easily, but i think it would never happen, could you see the TAT campaign, Samui the safest Island in the world, the best PR it could ever have, but will never happen
