Sometimes I visit a restaurant if I have visitors, normally once or twice a year, they may stay for a month so that's multiple visits. No visitors, no restaurants and I'm certainly not getting visitors from abroad these days. I like a few beers down some pub every now and again (like once or twice every couple of weeks) but since they closed all the bars I haven't missed it at all so for all I care they can close it all down, open it up, whatever they want - I literally don't give a <deleted> and even when they do open it up - if there's hoops to jump through - I won't be bothering.

Give it a month or two, it's only just getting started down there. It looks like the government are doing everything they can to stretch it out for as long as possible. That's a controversial way to deal with it, they will mostly all become infected in the long run but maybe the more effective treatments which are going through trials right now will be in widespread use by then.

It's not about case numbers, they have more than 30k cases each day in the UK - it's about variants.

The red list is all about new variants - they want to keep them out, hence the hotel quarantine. If you have normal COVID (regular Delta) it doesn't matter as it's common over there.

This might just be me but I've been washing my hands after handling cash for years, decades in fact. If I were a cashier I probably wouldn't bother but I rarely handle cash and I regard it as being filthy - like wiping your hands over the floor.

The thing about crypto is that it only needs a tiny percentage of global markets and it's wildly succeeded. It doesn't need to take over or dominate anything to be a success.....
