NI Protocol: 'Final talks' due between Rishi Sunak and Ursula von der Leyen
JonnyF replied to Scott's topic in World News
Only in your imagination. -
She wasn't sent anywhere. She was a compliant escort living the high life with private jets and plenty of cash for her services. Andrew's only 'crime' was paying this charlatan off. Had he gone to court she'd have dropped the case like she did with Dershowitz. However, that would have made the final year of his mother's life even worse than Harry and Harry's wife were already making it. I don't like the guy, he's an arrogant dimwit but it's clear that he took one for the team.

What's next? Probably correcting more misinformation.

At least you admit that's what is happening. Kudos. Most Europhiles deny this to be the case. Is it a bad thing? Well, that's what the referendum was for. Britain decided it WAS a bad thing. Democratically. -
What sex offense was a member of the Royal Family convicted of? Please provide links. If you are referring to the self confessed prostitute and procurer of women, Virginia Giuffre, you should be aware that it's not a sex offense to have sex with a 17 year old in the UK. You should also be aware that 'woman' (and I use the term loosely) has a history of making false accusations against wealthy men. https://edition.cnn.com/2022/11/08/us/alan-dershowitz-virginia-giuffre-allegations-dropped/index.html

It's the thin end of the wedge. A creeping federalism. From the original common market to the current EU was a massive change and that change will continue/accelerate over the next couple of decades (assuming the EU lasts that long). The direction of travel is clear for all but the blindest to see. They are heading towards a United States of Europe run by unelected technocrats and many British, myself included did not want to be a part of it. If you're in a bus accelerating towards a cliff edge, it's better to jump out before it's going so fast that it becomes life threatening to do so. Britain did that. We scraped our knees on the tarmac, couple of bruises here and there. But nothing that won't heal over time. Far better than the alternative, being ruled by "selected" rather than elected leaders like Juncker and Von Der Leyen. -
Student loan forgiveness: The Supreme Court challenges explained

This is simply vote buying to attempt to get young people to become lifelong Dem voters. No better than Yingluck's free tablet scheme. He's also been trying to charm the nurses . -

Pledging to spend more on the NHS is not the same as promising an increase in GDP. 2 different things. And that pledge for increased spending on the NHS has been met. Food prices have gone up globally, not only in Britain. Maybe you heard about Covid and the war in Ukraine? Presumably price rises here in Thailand are due to Brexit as well? ???? -

Good move by King Charles. This nasty couple thought they were getting an apology. Instead, they got removed from the website and kicked out of Frogmore. That's what happens when you bite the hand that feeds you. Next, strip their titles. We don't need professional complainers and liars in the Royal Family. Let's hope they don't attend the coronation and try to ruin the King's big day.

Wrong. Britain has broken free from the EU and regained it's sovereignty. That's a massive win. The EU gained nothing, it lost one of it's richest members and largest net contributors and also exposed itself as a self serving, spiteful organization. Brexit was never about % points of GDP. That is something that Remainers cannot (or refuse to) understand. In any case, it was always a long term project. You can't undo 30 years of being stifled by an overly bureaucratic, corrupt organization in a couple of years, especially when those couple of years included Covid 19 lockdowns and a war in Ukraine. We'll have a much clearer picture of the longer term economic impact 5 years from now. -
British Police say domestic abuser may be in Thailand
JonnyF replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Indeed. If he's smart he'll be in Pattaya. All he's got to do to disappear into the crowd is shave his head, get a Chang vest, some bad tats and curse 5 times in every sentence. They'll never find him. -
Could this corruption scandal signal the end of the EU ?

Johnson had some good ideas. Did some good work. That's why his political rivals and the MSM had him removed for having a slice of cake during lockdown or whatever it was... Fortunately Sunak has done a better job with the outstanding Brexit issues than I had expected. Like I said, if we keep chipping away at those corrupt EU tentacles we will eventually be 100% free from them. It took decades to be ensnared, a few more years to escape isn't too bad. -
Unfortunately I wouldn't know. I quit when it was still semi-legal/undecided, there were lots of online sellers back then with recognized brands. I'm still not sure you could guarantee the quality back then TBH, could have been fake. That's the problem with banning things, it just continues, but unregulated.

A great example of why we should have broken free from the cabal with no deal. Like any abusive relationship it is best to make a clean break and sever all ties. Let the corrupt EU come crawling back over time. Unfortunately we had a traitor amongst our ranks. Theresa May will not be remembered fondly. Lucky for her it's the 21st century. -
Industry Ministry seeks help to curb sugarcane burning

Luckily I was working in BKK at the time as I might have got myself into a sticky situation had I been there. The owner was present and it was his crop. My gf filmed it all and ripped him to pieces (verbally). Apparently the little scrote was on his knees begging us not to report it to the authorities or put in on social media. We're still discussing the next steps as she doesn't want to create a lifelong fued with him. He's promised not to do it again and cut it instead of burn it next time but I highly doubt he is believable. It would be great if they would just enforce the law but no, they just pontificate and "urge". -
Sydney Mardi Gras parade underway, Albanese becomes first PM to march

I am keeping on topic. You keep using the word fascistic. I am saying it is totally inappropriate in the context you are using it. -

Throwing the word fascist around for everyone you disagree with just dilutes the effect. You really should stop that. -

It's nothing like Putin's. Stop being so dramatic.
