  1. '66 GTO with a 400...... His father had Firebird.
  2. I was spoiled, I grew up just a few miles down the road from one of the best and most popular dragstrips in the USA. As a teen we would ride our bicycles out the back roads then sit and watch the cars as they passed the finish line. To top it off my Aunt and Uncle worked in the tower so many in our family always received free pit passes. I still remember hearing the roar of the engines on Sunday afternoons all the way into our little town even though the dragstrip was several miles away. Not only did the dragstrip hold events like The Spring Nationals it also was home to several Van-Slams... The days of Big Daddy Don Garlits and Shirley Muldowney are now just memories. While still keeping in touch with some of my hometown friends I see on Facebook some still have the racing spirit. The attached pic is one of my favorites. A close friend growing up in the area who built this monster from the ground up and did a little racing during his days..... RIP Jimmy!
  3. I actually miss those speed reading courses I took back in high school prepping for college. It helped me to better comprehend and retain what I was reading......and doing it at a much faster pace definitely helped.
  4. How about fining those driving that do not give the right of way to emergency vehicles? Maybe if an injured person could get to a hospital in a reasonable amount of time they would have a better chance for survival.
  5. Never needed a stick or air gun. Just pretend to pick up a rock and then pretend to throw it at them and they will always urn away.
  6. WTH are you crying about, that's today's style.... Kids these days (and some lame adults still seeking to be young) pay big money for jeans that have holes and rips in them.
  7. "Phuket immigration forgot to put the 90 day Report Slip in my passport on the last extension......." Duhhhhhh, your fault for not checking before leaving Immigration. Always check for accuracy and completion of forms and stamps BEFORE leaving Immigration. I had them switch my 90 form for another person's. Yepper, looked at the 90 form they stapled in my passport as I was walking out the door and I noticed it wasn't my name on it. I had another occurrence where my extension stamp wasn't initialized by the big boss. I noticed and questioned this before I left Immigration. I got a 'sorry', they took my passport back, and after waiting another 15 minutes it was returned to me with the stamp being initialed as required. Just because they made mistakes doesn't mean that will be a useable excuse when you are found to be overstaying.
  8. Too funny..... I bought my first fake Rolex about 30 years ago in Patpong. If memory serves me correctly he wanted nearly 2k THB but I haggled him down to 300.
  9. Take the whole gel pack instead of half and that small woody would have turned into a large redwood.
  10. Deport the ASEANNOW members who post the most senseless and stupid replies!
  11. That isn't so accurate. I say that as I just looked at the wind for the entire month of April and it doesn't show where Nan experienced some heavy winds last week. So heavy that trees were toppled and some roofs went flying. ...and for the OP: You should identify the description of the house in question. Some of these stick shacks considered to be a house would topple with one small breath of the Big Bad Wolf.
  12. Cool story bro, is that the best you got?
  13. I believe I have posted this before. Occurred in my mooban about 4 years ago.
  14. Who in their right mind would ever think about getting in one of those nasty canals? So he must of been either drunk or on drugs. RIP....
  15. Hmmmmm, isn't New Zealand an island? (Two actually, North & South)..... So how many in total have died on NZ?
  16. In the USA neighbors shoot neighbors over loud music and barking dogs......... why not expect the same throughout the rest of the world?
  17. I agree with what you are saying but the companies these days don't care about older models as they like to conjure up newer models with more bells and whistles in order to bring in consistent revenue year-year. (Think iPhone) ThinkPads are great, even back in the IBM days. I still have a couple that work great. The problem when IBM had them was that IBM didn't care about the consumer PC market as they were focused on their mid-to-large mainframes and services. As an ex-IBM employee I was fully aware.
  18. "So it could just be my immigration guy had a bug up his ass. " "Think you will find it depends on the immigration office." I thought it has been identified numerous times before: It doesn't matter what the rules/laws are because it can change at any time due to: - Immigration office location - Immigration officer processing the application - Mood of the Immigration officer processing the application - Applicant's behavior - Moon phase
  19. To the OP...... trash it and buy a real computer..... HP Is rubbish and I'll never buy another HP product again!
  20. Every product has an 'end of life'...... The better companies usually announce when that occurs and when will be the last time service/parts will be available.
  21. Seen that joke on Facebook weeks ago!
