  1. The squirrels have prospered there in the past several years. One element of that was the delight taken by those tourists who gave them goodies. Chinese tourists were especially amused by them. So, yes, let's also be generous to the squirrels while we are helping the unemployed struggle through this. They like all kinds of nuts, of course, but they also enjoy watermelon. How about sunflower seeds?
  2. That is such a wild statement, I must ask you for your source of information.
  3. Given that they probably weren't brand new, I'd replace them. But if you wish, you can take them to the fire department station on Third Road not far from Pattaya City Hospital. Sorry I don't remember the fee. Maybe call 1337?
  4. "My (limited) understanding is that anyone assuming control of a deceased persons Thai assets after their death, but before probate occurs, will create a world of hurt for the beneficiary, as in any other country. " I asked a few Thais who all said that there is little risk as long as no one complains. I guess they didn't get the memo: when someone dies with more than 50 baht in their pocket, the worst of human nature will reveal itself. Greed and envy seek revenge. Clearly it's illegal. If you care for someone enough to leave them 800,000 baht then do it properly. Fact is, all you need to create a Thai will is a piece of paper and a pen.
  5. Kbank told me "blood relatives only". So did Bangkok Bank.
  6. BHP made it very clear to me, just now, that they are not giving second jabs of anything to anybody at the moment. Only exception is for front-line medical staff. They called to offer me a leftover Pfizer shot. Come over, right now. When I explained that I had gotten my first jab just 4 weeks ago, they said it was good I mentioned that because on arrival the Public Health database would have been double-checked and I would have been sent away. Nicely, but without a jab.

  8. "...the government) are absolutely sticking to their very clear policy of only vaccinating Thai nationals, and it is clear friends, family and "good people" first." Just five minutes ago my hospital's dental clinic called, asked me if I would like to be vaccinated tomorrow. I said No Thanks, same as I said to my neurologist last week, because I went up to Bangkok three weeks ago and got my first jab of A-Z from Phyathai2 Hospital (via their original Intervac quasi-lottery). I can assure you that I am neither friend nor family to anyone involved though a few may consider me "good people".
  9. This link to BHP is working right now. Expats only. Registration period: 16 – 20 August 2021 Vaccination period: 1 – 9 September 2021 Carefully note the available vaccine combinations.
  10. That was an excellent phone in its day. But it was Android 4. Irrelevant now: above posts make it clear that it's about LINE not getting updated. Cross your fingers and follow the migration link I provided. Thx to elcaro.
  11. I must be having a senior moment. The article says "account migration will no longer be supported for LINE app versions 9.1.0 or lower.". The OP says his copy of LINE is 9.12.0. Did that not come later? If so, shouldn't the OP follow the provided link regarding migration? https://guide.line.me/en/migration/
  12. For what it's worth, the current version of LINE for Android is 11.31.2. When you go to the Play Store and search for "line app", and choose the selection titled "line app", you should then be offered the green INSTALL button. If not, your Android system must truly be years out of date. When, precisely, does that message appear? When you open Play Store? When you try to Install the LINE app? Provided with enough details, someone here with give you an explanation and advice on how to proceed.
  13. But your browser isn't part of this equation. Find the Play Store app on your phone, use it to search for the LINE app.
  14. Isn't Line saying "please update me"? So go to Google Play and get the latest.
