Would You Send YOUR Child/Grandchild to a...School in China?
I have a slightly different experience teaching classes with Chinese students in Thailand. Some of the Chinese students very quickly become quite proficient Thai speakers because many of the Thai students won't/can't speak English with them and even fewer speak any Chinese. I'd say you'd need to look at things like social background and basic education of the students to compare them. Just saying 'Thai students' vs 'Chinese students' doesn't really tell you anything.

Is Immigration now asking for an updated TM30 from all contacts
Except that they now have a new TM30 system and database and presumably they want to get everyone onto that. So it's possible that if they have no record of a TM30 in the new system, they could reject a 90-day report until there's an updated entry. I have no idea if that's happening but some people have reported that their online 90-day application was rejected with the reason that they need to submit a TM30.

Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system
Interesting. I often spot one or two in the morning on the wires at tollway level as you come down onto Paholyothin Road beyond Rangsit. Only ever in front of that very tall factory building on the left as the tollway starts to come down.

TM47 - 90 days - "first time"
I also think there may be something in this. A number of people have reported receiving a rejection with the reason that they should "submit a new TM30". In these cases, it would be interesting to know if they are still on the old TM30 system or have already registered on the new system. Or whether there is any pattern of this at particular offices.

Money transfer for RE purchase
As above answer. When you add funds, you specify a GBP amount and that is what you receive.

Money transfer for RE purchase
I have a UK Revolut account and can add funds to it from my KBank debit card. I haven't done that very often but it was useful one time when I got caught on the hop and needed a quick transfer to another UK account.

Thailand’s new reserves to boost tiger population
I think they manage on their own. There was some great remote camera footage a month or two ago from Huai Kha Khaeng with three tigers feasting on a Banteng.

90 Day Online Report Rejected
It's possible that they may want to get people registered under the new TM30 system? The most efficient way to do that at some point will be to reject 90-day reports that don't have an updated TM30.

Thailand’s soft power strategy to generate 4 trillion baht across 11 industries
Mostly just a few of the other ASEAN countries: Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. Thai singers and actors are very well-known in those countries. Also, students from those countries come to take media and film studies courses etc. in Thailand as the Thai industry is seen as the most developed in ASEAN. It's also closer home and a cheaper alternative to other parts of the world.

Hotel CCTV Shows Somrak And Teen Girl Walking In Hand In Hand
Yes, I think that's probably true. However, it's one of those things that's not a problem until it is. I don't think it's as uncommon as you might think. I've seen it a few times with country folk, not necessarily for the money. A few years ago, the wife's 16-year old cousin had relations with a young guy a couple of years older. When this came out, it was everyone down to the police station, where his family signed an agreement that he would marry her. That was the only way her family would let it go. He was a nice young guy and later on he was devastated when she left him.

Hotel CCTV Shows Somrak And Teen Girl Walking In Hand In Hand
Basically, Yes. If the parents file a complaint, it's illegal. Even if their daughter/son was a willing participant.
-
Hotel CCTV Shows Somrak And Teen Girl Walking In Hand In Hand
It is illegal as she's under 18 and both the girl and the parents have filed a complaint I think. If she was a willing participant, the penalty is lower. This has been successfully fought in court in Thailand with the argument that the accused was not aware of the age (only works if the minor is aged over 15) or deliberately misled.

Work Permit - Previous employer potential block from 2016!
I think it can be 'cancelled' up to 21 days ahead while remaining valid until the expiry date. The work permit should still then be cancelled at the end of the working period. I don't know if he'll experience any problems after such a long period though.

Explainer: The pork smuggling racket costing Thailand billions in damages
Actually, the point here seems to be that he wasn't prepared to step on any toes. The DSI had been put on notice for a few weeks regarding this case and only managed to bring in a couple of minor players (who came in voluntarily) and made a few noises for public consumption.

How come English speakers are incomprehensible to others?
Dr. Geoff Lindsey has a great YouTube channel on English accents, how they're different, how they're changing etc. https://www.youtube.com/@DrGeoffLindsey/videos He also wrote the book English After RP: Standard British Pronunciation Today on how British RP has now almost gone to be replaced by Standard Southern British. Quite detailed for anyone interested.

Lost driver's license
I think early 2019, I went to make a police report at Phrakhanong and they told me it was no longer required. I had a similar experience to your wife at the same DLT office. My experience was that the replacement licence only goes until the original expiry date. You are simply getting a replacement and not doing all the tests required for a licence renewal/extension.

photography how many of you ?
Pretty close to 100% of uni students use iPads or some form of tablet. Teachers upload materials onto a platform like Google Classroom or MS Teams and students can open it all up on their pads. It's a step up from pre-Covid days when most just brought a phone to class as it's much easier for them to take notes and access online resources.

Price of electricity from January-April to rise
The interesting thing about this is that I believe the commission works to a regulatory framework where they legally have to set a rate that takes all costs etc. into account? The government is not obliged to follow this though. So there's a suggestion that the government is happy for this news to be put out there and will eventually settle on a lower increase that will make them look like the good guys who stood up for the little guy.
-
Price of electricity from January-April to rise
It only went so low because they promised to reduce it for 3 months. Time's up so it will now be a little over the price when they reduced it.

A turning point in Myanmar as army suffers big losses
Considering these rebel groups are receiving arms and support from the Chinese government in their current attacks, I wouldn't mind betting who they would align themselves with.

A turning point in Myanmar as army suffers big losses
What evidence do you have for that rather odd claim?

90 days online report - invalid address
Keep resubmitting if you have time before the due date. You can make minor tweaks or even submit the same one. I once had 3 rejections followed by an approval which was exactly the same as the first one. That was when CW were dealing with them promptly. They seem to have been getting better though - my last one was back down to 4 days.

Cabinet Approves Sugar Price Rise
It's for themselves, not for foreigners. I've never been able to stop them using it in the cooking at home. Every noodle restaurant has sugar on the table to add to the bowl. There's an interesting video here that starts with that very topic:

Is Chaengwattana asking to see TM30 for SETV extension?
The current TM30 system only allows you to search back 7 days from the search date (so if you search today, you can only go back 7 days from today). You can no longer pull up the record of an entry made weeks, months or years ago.
