  1. The Honda Jazz was sounding good, and then I saw that Honda has stopped production of the Jazz in Thailand. So I looked into the Honda City Hatchback and see that it has a 1.0L, 998cc turbo 3 cylinder motor. Is that going to be enough power in mountainous terrain, or with the back seats folded down and the car loaded up with ‘stuff’?
  2. I hope so. I noticed that the Thai E-Visa Official Website states; deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 800,000 THB or an income certificate with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 THB or a deposit account plus a monthly income in total not less than 80,000 THB. Not sure I understand that last part about the deposit account and 80,000 monthly income.
  3. My previous post was a copy and paste from the L.A. website. https://thaiconsulatela.org/en/non-o/
  4. I just went to the Los Angeles Thai Consulate website to re-check if they had updated the site to show the required 3M insurance required with the O-A visa, which they already have done. But what really caught me by surprise was this: 7. Applicant must have a bank deposit of 7.1 no less than 1,200,000 Baht or 7.2 an income certificate (an original copy) with a monthly income (pension) of not less than 100,000 Baht, or 7.3 a deposit account plus a monthly income (pension) totaling not less than 1,200,000 Baht. In the case of submitting a bank statement, a letter of guarantee from the bank (an original copy) is required. I figured this was coming someday, but it still really surprised me. I wouldn’t be surprised if this carries over to the NON-O retirement extensions. ????
  5. 66 years old. Pfizer both shots. 1st shot; Slight soreness in arm. 2nd shot; Felt like <deleted> all the next day. Took Acetaminophen and slept on and off all day. The following day I felt fine.
  6. These type of situations are why Thailand will eventually require all foreigners entering the country or renewing extensions to have valid health insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in Thailand.
  7. Thanks for the feedback. I took a look at postscanmail but there were a few things I was not sure about them. Like some other services, scanning fees can be substantial when going over the plan limit, and their basic ‘Starter’ plan is fairly limited (5 content scans/month). The big thing that kind of worries me about the service is that they have a huge list of address locations to choose from. At first glance that would appear to be an advantage, but when a company has that many locations, it leads me to believe they just contract out to local postal service companies in these different areas with no real oversight as to how those companies operate, with privacy and security being somewhat questionable.
  8. Thanks for sharing your experience with PhysicalAddress. Good to hear you are pleased with their service. Which of their locations do you use? I’m thinking of going with their Las Vegas, Nevada location. They do, in my opinion, appear to be the best overall value of the services I’ve researched. Their pricing is very reasonable, and they claim that they manage and operate all of their address locations and do not ‘outsource’ to third-party mail centers. As I’ve mentioned in another thread, I’ve been using virtualpostmail.com for a couple of years, but I’m always on the lookout for other options, and PhysicalAddress, at less than have the price of virualpostmail looks like a great deal, especially going forward as prices increase in the future.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve looked into US Global Mail before but one thing I didn’t care for was that their scanning fees seem a bit high and could really bump up the monthly cost.
  10. Hopefully that won’t be an issue. I’m not establishing residency in the state, like getting a state ID or Drivers License. Just a mailing address. What sort of government documents are you referring to?
  11. Thanks for that link. I actually had a couple of posts in that thread! And especially thanks for the "site:aseannow.com/topic" search tip when using google. I’ve wasted way too much time trying to use the search engine on this website!
  12. I looked into physicaladdress.com a while back, but after many searches on Asean Now, I cannot find any posts about this service. I’d like to follow up with anyone that has used the service for 6 month or more. Are you happy with their service? How long have you been using this service? Have you had them forward documents or credit/debit cards to you in Thailand? Do you consider the forwarding service fees fair? Any feedback on this company would be much appreciated.
  13. You could try using a very slim stylus pen to type with on a phones touch screen.
  14. Was the color blindness test an Ishihara test (circular image containing many dots of various colors, brightness and sizes) or just standard signal lights? Thanks.
  15. I am currently in the U.S. and also have Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage that can be used in Thailand. Even if my BlueCross/BlueShield coverage is acceptable for COE, I probably will get a separate Covid-coverage from a Thai-based insurance just to cover costs if I were to test positive and be asymptomatic, or even symptomatic, as BlueCross/BlueShield will only cover hospitalization if it is deemed ‘Medically necessary’. The cost of Thai Covid insurance coverage is small compared to the cost for possibly two people spending 14 days in a hospital.
  16. I recently set up an Ultramobile PAYGO sim card in my phone while I’m still in the U.S. I was hoping I can leave that sim card in my phone when I’m in Thailand to use for banking 2FA logins on U.S. websites, and get an eSIM through a Thailand based cell phone service to use as my everyday talk, text, and data in Thailand. I’m currently using an unlocked iPhone 11 if that matters. Or would it be better to just activate the UM Paygo sim while in the U.S., and then buy a cheap cellphone in Thailand and insert the sim in that phone. Again, I just need the physical sim as a backup for 2FA in case any of my banks start to block the google voice numbers I’m currently using for 2FA.
