  1. It's very hot, aircons are on longer, electricity bills go up. Not exactly rocket science.
  2. And as mentioned the hottest month of the year. Both of my Thai neighbours asked me if our bill had gone up from last month, they have never done that before. All three of us saw increases of over 30% from the previous month. I had anticipated it as the wife turns on aircons for most of the day and night when it is this hot. I guess my neighbours did similar but did not expect such an increase. For the record my bill was almost twice the neighbours bills combined. ????
  3. Thanks, I won't be giving the information. It was just about what I had guessed. I have asked the Lazada company that I cancelled if they had given my details to an outside source. I am sure they will be honest! EDIT- The seller no longer exists on Lazada.
  4. Ordered an android box from Lazada, cost 411 baht inclusive of delivery. Realised it was not suitable so immediately cancelled and that was confirmed on the interface. Five days later whilst I am out a package arrives and the wife knows I had ordered another android box so thinks nothing of it and pays the guy. Now the payment she made was 411 baht. It turns out the delivery company was not one that we had come across before and the item in the package was a very cheap looking Wired Earphone. So, we had a package we did not order from a company that does not show up on Google search delivered by a company we did not know and payment of 411 baht that was the amount of the product we had cancelled at Lazada. I did find a reference and email to the delivery company and I sent them an email requesting who the order had come from. The delivery company responds saying that if I wanted a refund I would need to supply them with: We recommend that you submit additional information for us to coordinate with the seller and proceed to refund for your parcel AOTH-------- Additional information for refund processing is as follows: - Parcel cover sheet that clearly sees tracking number - Picture of the first page of the Book Bank with the text indicating the name of the bank, branch, account number and the name of the account holder - a photo of the product received - a photo of product advertisement - confirmation of telephone number I then asked them why they want all this information as I had simply asked who they got the package from. It smells fishy and they have failed to respond to 2 subsequent emails. I have not included names of delivery company etc as this is ongoing. Anyone had something similar?
  5. Sadly I tend to think they would accept coups. But just my opinion based on having been through 3 in Thailand.
  6. They must have been using the weather app on my expensive IPhone, has trouble telling what the weather was, or even is now! An actual correct forecast rarely happens.
  7. Latest series of both Van Der Valk and Grace now available. Somebody else mentioned a Town Like Malice, one of those that is so bad it's worth watching, some great old music.
  8. Shed and Buried - Motorcycle fanatic Henry Cole and his friend Sam Lovegrove travel across the UK in search of automotive bargains they can restore in their workshop and sell ..
  9. Some great places. Was stationed at Culdrose for a couple of years about 100 years ago
  10. Great fun, easy watch. Spin off to Beyond Paradise but not as enjoyable.
  11. And Chiang Mai will continue to enjoy a very unhealthy 200 + aqi !
  12. Rabbit Hole -Kiefer Sutherland - enjoyed first 2 episodes. Equally enjoying, but very different, Bob Odenkirk in Lucky Hank.
  13. Public and tourists, as opposed to only tourists in the headline.
  14. This assumes that the owner of the land agrees or has not deceased and passed it on to someone who does not agree to extend the lease. I got a little more nervous the older the owner of the land that we leased got. Relieved we got the sale when we did to be honest.
  15. Had a 30+30+30 lease in Chiangmai. Sold after 18 years to a Chinese who used a shelf company to purchase so lease was voided with agreement from the landowner who we knew well. Would I do it again, probably not?
  16. There was little chance of ousting this government at the best of times. This scenario guarantees Prayuth and his mob another 4-8 years.
  17. Great escapist movie series, I would have thought he would have killed off most of the protagonists by now but apparently not, number 5 in the offing and a spin off. Also enjoyed Bill Nighy in Living as well. Slightly less frantic than John Wick.
  18. Doing the modern thing, asking on a health and medicine forum that has a few experts on it.
  19. When I see anything about gun mentality in America for some reason I tend to just associate the acolytes of one person and one particular party in respect of weapons of death. But that is just me and I am not American.
