  1. They don't have to take their money out of China, simply do a deal with an entity in China they give them the Yuan ad the Thai end give them the baht.
  2. Oh, the baton you mean!
  3. World Chemicals Mahidol road.
  4. Peter Vella house white in the nice plastic bag 1.5 litres currently 459 baht in Makro. Drink very cold and it suits my palate, not for all. Have had many expensive wines in my time and the generally the comment I would tend to make would be about the excessive cost not the taste. Thank goodness we have a choice
  5. Great boost for Samui, very good series. I was last in Koh Samui in 1989, I guess it has changed.
  6. Yorkshire definitely my favourite, also like their their biscuit tea as a change. In Chiang Mai and recently ordered from Greens
  7. We don't go where there is dual pricing. that said we often have visitors from overseas. We tell them why we don't go but leave the decision up to them. I guess on average half take our view the others are quite happy to pay to see particular attractions.
  8. https://aqicn.org/city/chiang-mai/
  9. I am sure the government has it hand and will appoint committees!

  11. It’s the Aro that was 189 and I was also confused . Bought two lots of Mainland Vintage & Tasty this morning which is a good deal
  12. Was there on Saturday. The shop was closed and there was for rent sign on the door. Rarely had much stock but it was the right stuff for some elderly expatiates! Any other info?
  13. At Greens yesterday or at least where they used to be . Shop was closed and a sign that the place was for rent!
  14. Exactly!
  15. Perhaps I should ask Grok?
  16. How did we survive before smartphones and social media!
  17. The question asked was: Was X instrumental in affecting the USA Presidential elections by utlizing outright lies and misinformation, there was quite a lot of relevant information but the conclusion was: "The consensus among experts seems to be that X has indeed been a significant platform for the dissemination of misinformation during U.S. presidential elections, with specific instances where outright lies were propagated. However, the direct causal link between this misinformation on X and election outcomes is less clear and remains a subject of intense debate. The platform's policies, the actions of its owner, and the nature of its content distribution algorithms have all contributed to an environment where misinformation can thrive, but attributing election results solely to this factor would be an oversimplification of the multifaceted nature of electoral influence." Interesting conclusion and of course up for debate. For those who don't know Grok is Elon Musk's own AI chatbot.
  18. Been freezing cheeses forever never been a problem for me. We all have our own choices, this is mine.
  19. You are right 189 for all the range . So a bit of a con from the store but still a saving of about 100baht.?
  20. Will be topping up tomorrow and freezing a couple of packs. Thanks for the heads up!
  21. Please link to the rule that shows that non-Americans cannot comment on an open thread. Thank you.
  22. Possibly, but a $44 billion plus investment in to Trump's "success" carries a lot of weight and no doubt huge payback for the assist!
  23. I think the real agenda will be whatever Musk and the rest of the money and foreign influencers have determined. Trump will be the figurehead for the time being, unlikely he will make it through 4 years due to one cause or another. Interesting times.
  24. Matlock is worth a watch with Kathy Bates (Misery) as the lead. The latest series (5) of All Creatures Great and Small is it's usual warming tales of vets in Yorkshire around WW2. "The BBC has released a new seven-part natural history series, “Asia,” narrated by the legendary Sir David Attenborough. This groundbreaking series explores the incredible diversity of wildlife and landscapes across Asia, the world’s largest and most populous continent." - Brilliant as always.
