  1. That road has been labelled as "Billionaire Street" so it's probably just the guy who owns the new 280 Million Baht villa there parking his 18th, 19th and 20th vehicles outside his place, lol. He can only fit his Bentley, three Porsches and seven Mercs actually on his property.
  2. Fifteen or so years ago there were numerous small clinics around the Walking Street area where bar girls/boys and/or punters could go for treatment when they had a problem with their private parts. I'm not sure that the doctors were up to much, but they probably saw more STD's in the average week than a normal doctor would see in a year!
  3. Heck, if Smart Safety Zone 1.0, Smart Safety Zone 2.0, and Smart Safety Zone 3.0 all failed, then surely it's Einstein's definition of insanity to keep on trying the same thing and expecting a different result, lol.
  4. What's the big deal, SSE just increased the tariff by over 30% in my place back in the UK, to around 12 Baht/unit. Come the next price cap review in October I fully expect it to go up by at least another 30% and probably more. Thailand and most of SE Asia are doing OK in the current global inflationary environment, IMHO.
  5. Says all you need to know about the OP's expertise on SEA, lol.
  6. I went there this afternoon at about 1:30. It was fairly busy, but quieter than it was back in January. Mostly Thais with a few older farangs, and I was surprised to see quite a few Thai children getting vaccinated too, there were none six months ago. All very efficient and bureaucratic as usual, I had Pfizer again. They're closed tomorrow as it's a holiday for the King's birthday, I'm not sure about Friday which is a bridging day, but then next month they'll be doing the same thing just three days a week, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. My yellow vaccine book was updated and stamped, so I'm all set to return to Blighty for five weeks come September. It's entirely up to you, of course, if you want it, but as I'm in the seriously at-risk group due to age and medical conditions I was more than happy to get a second booster. And by my own experience, they're effective. The GF spent a weekend with me a few weeks after the first booster but came down with a fever as soon as she got back home. The next day she tested positive for Covid at work. It's inconceivable that I wasn't exposed to the virus during two days of eating, talking, drinking and sleeping together, yet I had no symptoms at all.
  7. Well that's not true. Like many people, I wanted to reclaim the 15% withholding tax paid on my bank account interest (where I keep the 800K Baht for the annual renewals) as it was below the tax-free allowance, and to do that you need to have a Thai tax ID. The Revenue Department was more than happy to issue me with one.
  8. Actually yes, I have, and so have quite a few others on this forum. I had my first AZ shot at Phyathai 2 in Bangkok almost exactly a year ago and they insisted on checking the BP, but when I went back for the second shot a few months later there were no such checks. I'm just wondering if the same thing might hold for a second booster at RGP, as I have white coat syndrome and my BP goes way up at just the sight of a doctor or nurse, never mind needles and syringes.
  9. Did you visit one yet? In the UK they'd be classed as something like 'Mobility Centres', so selling various kinds of mobility aids like walking sticks, not just renting out the scooters. Here though, who knows, but it's worth having a look of there's one nearby, you could even ask there about where to buy a good walking stick.
  10. Do they still insist on doing the blood pressure checks?
  11. The bill finally arrived, just over 500 Baht so another very useful discount. I remember a year ago when I sent the GF to City Hall to pay that they told her she could pay now at certain banks like SCB. Does anyone know if you can pay it at a 7-eleven, it's got a bar code on it just like, say, a utility bill? Or maybe in a Lotus's''s' Express or a Mini Big C? It's just that these days there's not that many bank branches around with so many closing, whereas there's still a 7-eleven every 100 yards or so it seems.
  12. I've been giving my dogs NexGard Spectra for years now, first getting it from the local vet then ordering it from Lazada as they were cheaper and had the whole range, while the vet was often out of stock of what I wanted. It's time to order a fresh batch but now NexGard in all its forms seems to have vanished from Lazada. I checked where I got the last batch from and that's now listed as a 'non-existent product'. Does anyone know what's happened to NexGard on Lazada, or where else to buy it other than a small local vet?

    Pastrami

Is there any good deli-style pastrami available in Pattaya? I usually bring it back with me from a deli in the UK, but this last year that hasn't been an option. I tried the TGM locally-produced pastrami but wasn't very impressed with that, it's better than nothing but that's about all the praise I can give it. I've looked in Villa on many occasions but have never seen it there. Has anybody seen any in the various supermarkets, locally-made or imported, I don't mind as long as it's good?
