  1. Planet Express pretty much fits your requirements. I use them following a recommendation here.
  2. I had the impression that if you were arrested away from your home they searched your home. I may be wrong, or maybe just in some cases eg if you had drugs on you and possibly a warrant was obtained first in those circumstances.
  3. 'Death by a thousand cuts' is a very difficult strategy to counter.
  4. Thailand won't be allowed to play one off against the other, nor will it be allowed to try to be neutral.
  5. Thailand is not going to be given a choice in this.
  6. I think a canal would be better for China.
  7. What puzzles me is the assailant is middle aged, wearing glasses and not wearing a uniform. He does not look like any Hamas [terrorist] infiltrators in any other footage.
  8. Looks like Privilege visas are "too easy" to get.
  9. That refers to the old Houston visa type deals where people would send their passport from Thailand. In other words you can't apply for a visa from an overseas consulate whilst in Thailand.
  10. I thought drug barons lived a little bit better than munching on dried fish.
  11. I wonder if that blue van has something to do with this...............
  12. Well, I think we can be sure they are not White Russians.
  13. Ed visas issued for study at a Muay Thai school?
  14. Should have got their Ed visa by then.
  15. I think you will find that a Deputy Chief of Police said they were "too easy" and should be tightened up. Lou, the self styled authority on everything who gets everything wrong.
  16. In fairness crime can be controlled by making things more difficult for old men on retirement extensions.
  17. You missed Japanese - Yakuza wanted in japan overstayed by 20 years.
  18. Did no one appraise them of the benefits of an Ed Visa?
  19. The BoT has tightened up on non resident accounts as an anti money laundering policy. that is why it is so hard to open an account now, and presumably SCB sees requesting a TIN as the best way of ascertaining residency. There has been something like this with non resident accounts in the UK with suspected non resident accounts being frozen, possibly in accordance with the same international agreements. SO, it is not impossible that you may have a situation in the future where your Thai bank account is frozen until you produce a TIN. I am just looking at possible scenarios and knock on effects.
  20. Apparently they won't open a new account without a TIN now. Not hearing/experiencing request for TIN before they will allow you to do anything, BUT this may come. I can see a possible situation where you might have to provide a TIN to maintain the account.
  21. "visitor" implies someone who will go back fairly quickly, rather than stay 3 years on an Ed visa.
