Online TM.47 rejected - what to do?

If the TM30 and TM47 databases weren't linked before, they are now. -
UK aaplication for Pensioner over 50 years visa..
mokwit replied to les1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A lot of people bought properties and are now finding all the new visa red tape and regulations annoying. One had to fly from New York, back to Germany to make his visa application, rather than get a visa in NY and fly directly. Another is coming for 30 days not 60 as the new Tourist Visa web application is too onerous(not all of us will work out we need to create a dummy .gif file and upload it to complete the process. My observation is that wealthy retirees who own condos here and who are ostensibly who Thailand is seeking to attract are being repelled by Thailand changing the deal on them. -
UK aaplication for Pensioner over 50 years visa..

When the rising tide of visa change reaches you and you are no longer eligible according to the rules, you will just meekly leave I presume? -
Understanding Thailand’s New Tax Directive on Foreign Income
mokwit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think direct tax by the banks on remitted funds unlikely but there could be direct tax on individual funds with no TIN - it would be up to you to prove your tax status to reclaim wrongly taxed funds. The only person who can waive/forgive taxes is the Finance Minister - be sure to write to Srettha if you disagree with your assessment. -
...or they just could require you have proof of all taxes paid in order to leave as they did before. likewise make it a condition of one year extension. They are far more likely to push the responsibility onto us. They will come up with a number which it is up to us to disprove - like they did before and can do now.

Why do people on here call Thailand the land of smiles?
mokwit replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Why do people on here call Thailand the land of smiles? Mostly coz they are new here. -
Anybody else had similar experiences? Maybe the RD contacted you e.g. by post but you did not see it or overlooked it. I find it hard to believe that they would freeze a passport in advance of contacting you. Did you only in the last few years stop working here? Maybe a failure to file could have triggered it? I think the fact that you worked and paid tax here may play a large part in this.

Blackpink’s Lisa dazzles at ‘Crazy Horse’ in Paris
mokwit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You can see black pink there any night. -
Maybe an unlikely scenario but they could just throw the responsibility onto us by requiring us to have prof of "all taxes paid" at visa extension time. They could do this under the "anything else required by the competent official". We in turn would probably have to agree any number the RD threw at us due to time constraints..

'Big Joke' Absent From Duty Amid Online Gambling Case
mokwit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Absolutely I am complaining. I am being punished for the fact that IO's sign off on agent applications without being involved in that I am not complaining that retirees had to use an agent or were 'punished for it' ( you are very unclear about who is punished for what). I am talking about being punished for the wrongdoing of others not being punished for using an agent as your writing infers as best I can understand it. NOBODY got punished for using an agent, THAT IS THE POINT, it was those who made legitimate applications who were punished. What does this mean? 'So are you being punished for not using an agent or not?' I don't really see what point you are making but: I am complaining about having to keep 400k year-around in my account supposedly to thwart agent usage yet they did NOTHING about the other side of the equation. Instead of a collective punishment on those who don't use an agent they should have gone after the "corrupt" IO's that facilitate the agents, but they didn't. I am also complaining about making TM30 a requirement for an extension when it is up to a third party to file the TM30. Hassle aside, it makes us dependent on a third party for extension renewal. they should go after the non filing landlord, not refuse an extension and ush the brealing of the law by a third party onto us. I think you are trying to be a bit too clever here, and seem to have problems both with English comprehension and writing unambiguously/clearly, but I have clarified/answered despite the fact that you seem to have problems admitting when you are WRONG (you couldn't really wriggle on the 400k retirement error that you made so you came clean on that). Bye. I really don't want to continue with this as you seem to have a self deceptive personality which will not acknowledge that you are not making valid points/acknowledging when you are wrong. -
Good point: Seems pointless when of the 40 million Thais many are not eligible for income tax. Don't know what the Thai interpretation would be but in the UK, officially all UK citizens must be tax resident to have a UK bank account, no? What we DO know is that one bank (SCB) are now requiring a tax ID for foreigners to open a bank account BUT: that may just be a way of screening out less profitable accounts. Contrary to popular belief Thai banks don't really want foreigner accounts because they don't make enough money from them.

My understanding is if you are here for 180 days+ BUT are not eligible for taxation e.g. because you have been transferring money in the year after it is earned you strictly speaking do not have to register - you are kind of on your honour to register if you have taxable income. In other words just being here 180+ days does not require you to register but that AND having taxable income does. Happy to be told I am wrong if I am.

Here's a wild card: What if under CPR or just anyways Thai banks insist on a TIN to open or MAINTAIN a Thai bank account? Anybody not already registered for tax would have to register for tax in order to maintain the account and be able to present a bank book at extension time. SCB ALREADY requires a TIN to open a new account for foreigner apparently. There is always the risk that could be extended to existing accounts. Views?
