  1. Had a long wooden nose that was growing at an alarming rate removed?
  2. Stall and flee in the night rather than attend and get a Thai version of the Old Bills: "it's just a routine inquiry, Sir, do you have your passport with you, Sir?"
  3. No i don't remember them backing down on TM30, neither do the IO's enforcing it at extension time.
  4. Some character out of Greek mythology?
  5. I think they thoroughly check first - make sure they are indeed offering services.
  6. They will push the onus of proof onto us, and in a format specified by them.
  7. Google: 'How long can a tax man go back in time to assess you' with name of aBangkok based newspaper. 2-5 years 10 years statute of limitations generally applies if you have not filed.
  8. Good luck. Is that 19% paid in token? If so how can you be assured you will be able to convert to fiat going forward when you need to pay with fiat?
  9. Thanks, hadn't realised buying low and selling high was that easy. First piece of investment advice I remember was get hold of a 50 year old newspaper stock page and see how many names you recognise. I did, and it was not many - they weren't all taken out at a premium.
  10. Not criminalise past failures to make reports, I am thinking how overstay used to be no big deal and now they will refuse an Elite visa if you have anything more than one day once.
  11. Do you think that is sustainable?. Perhaps you can tell us HOW 19% that return is generated. Also WHY are they paying out that much when returns are lower elsewhere?
  12. This is what I mean by 'being reflected in the share price'. When you see that kind of yield you often see a 50% capital loss. If you wanted to get all theoretical the market is pricing in what the dividend will be, not what it currently is, and hence the current high yield.
  13. Yes, but what I am saying is not doing it now could come back and haunt you.
  14. Would tend to agree. End of life company with no growth paying out excess cash and that being reflected in the share price, also closed en funds benefiting from one time investment that will roll over or giving you your money back less fees. Happy to be enlightened.
  15. Going forward it is possible that not doing a TM47 and "overstaying" on a report could become a big deal.
  16. 'Prime Minister Srettha Thavasin to issue a statement, stressing the initiative’s aim to narrow the wealth gap.' Buying popularity for themselves with other people's money.
  17. For me what made Thailand attractive is less and less, and more and more negatives. Like a version of Singapore where nothing works properly and nobody speaks English. Gone is the nutty flavoursome place that was Thailand in the '90's As one year visa holders we are effectively living in a Police State. TM30 TM45, stopped in the street by Immigration, or them turning up at your house. I will be leaving for other reasons but it is like a floodgate of relief bursting.
  18. 'taxed' You will likely have to prove that you have already been taxed. This.
  19. More likely have to show a tax certificate from Thai RD when renewing a one year extension as with WP/NonB. I am sure the tax period dates will have to line up exactly with the extension dates.
  20. Exactly this, it will likely be up to us to provide proof in a format specified by them. 'have been taxed' Could mean we have to prove we have been taxed, rather than an automatic exemption based on treaties.
  21. That will be fun - their money will be seen as coming from a Trust Fund rather than travel blogging.
  22. I agree with this interpretation, but we could still get caught in the net.
  23. Howsabout confirm all taxes paid at visa extension time as is done with WP linked extensions currently.
