Donald Trump Set to Make History with Second Royal State Visit to the UK
mokwit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
We should have a caption competition for the first photo. it looks like they are planning to carve up the world between them. -
To me this is what was different this time. I never saw prominently displayed Israeli flags in 2016 campaign footage. In 2024 they were ever evident - they were stark in their sudden prominence with Israel's new Nakba* in Gaza. Israels Nakba is Americas war seems to be the message. Oh, and don't tell me to give it a rest just because you and the others here who are pro Israel to the point that Israel can do no wrong don't like it when people call Israel out. The original poster missed this contribution and the inferred expectations in his list of who Trump was beholden to so I added it for completeness. *Netanyahu: "You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible" 1 Samuel 15:3 "Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass"

Yes, He included only approved applications for accuracy. I have since found out why as the database holds rejected applications, and this is probably what these are, maybe filed under the wrong category. my bad, probably a genuine listing, but out of context. Alternatively he might have searched only $75,000+ and the listings are genuine as there is a category < $75k 17% are < $75k (blue).

Is Buprenorphine available as pain medicine in Thailand now?
mokwit replied to ericdk's topic in Health and Medicine
Yes (listed in Thai MIMS). You will require a prescription, probably from a hospital doctor. @Sheryl may be able to add to this. -
Heads you make a profit, tails you can still launder money.

You are accusing anyone who doesn't like H1B visas as being a sore loser Democrat whereas much of the anger is from Trump supporters as far as I can tell [Democrats using this to try and drive a wedge between Republicans and Republicans and their supporters doesn't make this not a fact.] I don't think Trump supporters whose children were supposedly rendered uncompetitive the school system appreciate the stab in the back on H1B visas which are being abused. You seem to think H1B visa is the same as the Extreme ability O1. The database is searchable and people are not liking what they are seeing. Basically people who are doing a job an American could be doing but for less - wage level not skill level. They hire them because they can be made to put up with anything rather than lose job and thus residency and the shot at US citizenship. Look who Musk kept on at X for his work all hours new regime.

Rachel Reeves Under Fire For Misleading the Public Over NI Increases
mokwit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It is the Holeohoax™. No line by line itemisation appeared as promised, and it could be plugged in whole by not giving Milibrand GBP22bn for climate change, or in part by not giving Africa GBP11bn for climate change*. *sold to the people as fixing immigration at source - economic migrants are being positioned marketingwise as 'climate refugees'. -
Reform UK Surpasses Conservative Party Membership in Landmark Shift
mokwit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Focus on illegal immigration via boats just deflects from the huge amount of legal immigration (by design, I am sure). I can't vouch for the veracity, having not checked, but if this is true, the below just shows the deception game the Tories have been playing. -

You could just have said Globalists instead of 'Conservatives and Labour'. Two cheeks of the same.... as the saying goes. -
Reform UK Surpasses Conservative Party Membership in Landmark Shift
mokwit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Tories have completely lost the trust of their voter base. They promised repeatedly to rein in immigration but it proceeded at full throttle as if Blair/Roche were still in charge. I suspect It's not that many are pro Reform per se, it is just they can't vote for the Conservatives anymore due to the betrayal and the fact they are a Globalist party, they certainly aren't going to vote for Chairman [Dear Leader] Starmer, so that just leaves Reform (who are also promising action on immigration). -

Colonialism ended 1946 to 1960's. Some countries too small to be standalone countries are British Protectorates by choice. Colonies were left with functional models for Government Judiciary etc, power grids, hospitals etc where there were none. Within one lifetime what were functioning countries and economies have declined to the point that people want to leave for the UK. Granted, their mineral and other wealth in the ground was less, but it would likely remain undiscovered/unexploited to this day and are now the property of the Independent countries. -
As I stated in the post detailing what is purportedly going down: 'This is from my X feed. You will have to judge for yourselves as to the credibility/veracity of this description of what may be going down.' This is what you have to make a judgement on: 'Okay since the H1B visa and country caps and the tech sector and India an Indians are all a hot topic right now, I would like to address this as someone who has worked behind the scenes in H1B consultancies in the tech sector and explain EXACTLY why I’m against removing country caps,' Is he an industry insider or is he posting dishonestly with a political agenda or is he someone just making it up to stimulate profitable engagement etc?

I disagree with your/The Daily Mail's title. i think they are clashing with normal people who don't want to be excluded from the workforce and see their town and country turned into little India. Some are suggesting (perhaps tongue in cheek) that Trump wants to annex Canada to get more Indians into the US more quickly. This is from my X feed. You will have to judge for yourselves as to the credibility/veracity of this description of what may be going down. Okay since the H1B visa and country caps and the tech sector and India an Indians are all a hot topic right now, I would like to address this as someone who has worked behind the scenes in H1B consultancies in the tech sector and explain EXACTLY why I’m against removing country caps, against the H1B visa, and against the entire canard that we need to import more people from anywhere, let alone India, to do “jobs that the tech sector can’t find Americans to do: 1) Sourcing Talent- Big companies like Google and Meta have the resources to go and actually pluck out the ACTUAL best talent from these countries, and it’s not hard for them to attract those applicants either because they have the brand recognition. All the best want to work for the best. This isn’t necessarily the problem. The problem is all the no name consultancies and mid size/small size consultancies. They can petition for H1B’s too. How are they sourcing them? Well, they (usually run by Indians) just find a guy from India through their network…who’s willing to work for them and come to America. That’s it. They’ll make sure they have some kind of Bachelors or Masters from some college out there and have the aptitude to learn and understand software that’s it. They aren’t actually “geniuses” or anything like that. They are just willing to work and can learn to “talk the talk” quickly. 2) Importation- once the prospective worker agrees, the consultancy petitions the American government (USCIS) on their behalf, saying they tried to recruit for the job (job doesn’t exist) in America and couldn’t find anyone, that’s why they need to bring this guy. Key part of this is that the visa is tied to the employer, so if the employer drops the worker, worker has to go back. He can’t just find another job. This is the indentured servitude model. 3) The Gambit- the consultancy makes sure the guy speak English, and that’s really it. USCIS can’t actually vet the workers on the knowledge they claim they have, especially a vast and sophisticated field like software. USCIS doesn’t actually have a way to tell if someone is lying about their skills or not. All they have to do is convince the USCIS that they can speak English so they can come and immediately start working here. 4) The Actual Job- once they get the petition for visa approved and they come here, they find out (or already know) they actually don’t have a job here yet. The consultancy now tries to find Corp to Corp contract gigs for the worker. That’s if they actually know the tech and they’re not faking. If they are faking their skills, another workflow is initiated. 5) Training Day (or months) - the fakers are trained for up to 3-4 months in a software that’s marketable and fetch a good hourly contract rate. Basically a coding Bootcamp style program. They go from zero to superficial knowledge in the tech, just enough to pass an interview with a potential client. 6) Sell the fake - after training the fake for 3-4 months, the fake is provided with a fake resume claiming 7-8 years of experience. Why? Because that’s how much experience is needed to demand a minimum of $50 per hour on a contract. Does it work? Duh. These workers trained for 3-4 months routinely fool interviewers looking for 7-8 years experience. 7) The Split- once the job and rate is secured, the consultancy bills at $50 per hour and pays the actual worker the minimum (about $27.50) an hour, and the consultancy pockets the difference. Imagine a 100 H1Bs on a roster doing this for you. Does this sound like fraud? Well that’s because it is, from beginning to end.

Did you ever formally study science? I would guess not as you seem to think scientific theory/current thinking can be chiselled into tablets of stone and posted an article summarising one paper as "proof" on the ice sheets without recognising that the authors were drawing on multiple theories to support their conclusions. Everyone else is a moron, however. Extrapolation to climate change via greenhouse gases involves all kinds of assumptions and theories that are not the laws of thermodynamics. As I said elsewhere, I did a Science degree, including use of statistics in data samples. My lecturers spent three years telling us NOT to trust the science. -

What about the period post Islamic revolution though? Not even by proxy, right? I mean they're not backing anybody or supplying drones/arms, right. Completely neutral, right?
