I find it a bit sad to here some people / friends around the bars and restaurants
Start passing moral judgment on people coming to pattraya, for a quick jump.
With 20 different girls on a two week holiday.
Lots of these people, have wives, children and homes in and around pattaya now.
But have conveniently forgot why they first come to this town, 5, 10, 15 20 years ago.
Or why they come back to retire here or to work.
Obviously not all, but anyone care to take a shot at how many percent it is.
I think about 60%, just a figure from out the air.
Thats 60% of Expats in pattaya.
Have you ever met those guys around town who say they live in Thailand but live in
a home from home, just like the country they just left. You know the ones.
They refuse to learn any Thai, refuse to integrate with the Thais on any level.
Moan about how hot it is, moan about the 90 day reporting.
Never eat any Thai food. Moan about the way the Thais drive only to drive up the wrong side of a carriageway themselves when on a small motor bike.
And only hang about with people of the same mentality.
The cocoon people of pattaya.
What anybody ever says about pattaya.
I will tell you this.
If the girls were not here. nor would the rest of people be.
Plenty of other places around the world to live in, but they dont have the birds.
Like pattaya does.
I love pattaya for what it is, not for what some people like to pretend it is.
Or those who try to change it into a home from home.
Long live Pattaya.

Let me stur up some flames in this thread...
What is the difference between investing in the stock marked and playing the roulette in Vegas?
So far nobody has been able to answer that.
:-)
The difference is: In Vegas you get free drinks and pretty women.
The hotel rooms and service is far better in Vegas as well.
Nudge Nudge , Wink Wink.

Go on a week day, late afternoon, drop in from the top end of town, not the beach end.
its fine then. for the sea food restaurants that is.

I know there is a huge thread in regards to where to eat over here on the Dark Side, but to save you (and anyone else) the trouble of sifting through nearly forty pages of postings, I'll reiterate a couple recommended places on Soi Khao Noi.
There's also a fish and chips place, oddly enough called the Great British Fish & Chip Shop up on Khao Noi past the second 7-11 near the "Villa" supermarket. I have no experience personally, but I hear good things about their kebabs - they use lamb and stuff it inside a pita the proper way (most places roll it up). I'll have to try the fish sometime.
Would you please go and try the above, then report back as to the quality of the food. should be a laugh.

Leonics Green 500, Works fine with my Router.
-
Bought a Lenonics, UPS Green 500
about 6 years ago from Wattana, Pattaya North road. (not sure of the spelling)
Think it was about, 3,000 baht at the time.
Never had a problem with it, still has the same battery inside and
gives plenty of time to close all equipment down if there is a power outage.
Also you can run your phone line through it as well.
never had any equipment fried yet.
Have a look on the top floor of Tuk com, think I saw the same units up for sale as old stock.
( could be cheap)
Hope that’s of some help.

A friend was charged 150 baht for an international withdrawal
Today at a a Kasikorn ATM in pattaya’
Bit of a shame that one.

Just a few extra lines this time for your benefit.
If you bothered to read your own posts, you would realize that it was you that started the Rude, Snobby, insults, with references to human excrement. and arrogant behavior on this thread.,, you, seam to be a very angry man.
You showed yourself up many times over, I can only say thanks for that.. :thumbsup
Also your name dropping was real funny coupled with the clever quotes, did you Google all that.
( you should have changed the Font as it's a bit obvious you cut and pasted that from someplace)
Also your Bs about you owning a Corvette Sting Ray in 1976 was the point where we all knew you are a bit of a paper hat, .an informative one but none the less a paper hat.
Your references to my financial situation was based on what, nothing.
I will tell you this, I earned my fortune a few years back, I don't need to work anymore.
Thank god, 1 was fortunate, but unlike yourself you do, so who's the intelligent one.
As its clear you still need to work getting old watches done up and selling them back home, is that what you do.
BTW as for advice.
Please read post 54, The advice the gentleman says he is taking, guess what it was mine and the same as many other posters gave.
I put the address and phone number there for him as well. But what do I know.
He like the rest of us know you are full of it.
BTW, The guys at the back of the market are great, used them for years.
Now please wined your neck in, ( sorry for the pun)
We have know idea, why you thought you are the only guy to give advice on this thread.
Did we miss something at the start.
( please don't answer that, as I can feel more venomous Poisson coming my way)
BTW, No one likes to be talked down to or lectured. at, that was your real mistake.
Have a nice day.

Knew he was full of shit at the start.
-
you are a silly man.
this is timekeepers wife, he says to tell you he is indisposed at the moment and can only deal with one shit at a time
Oh dear, you showed yourself up there.

i do not need to buy or sell second hand cars.
why? do you want to sell me the wreck you left behind in Thailand when you ran back to Uk?
I would love to sell my old wreck, its still in the garage, but
I Some how think you wont have enough money to buy it.
Whats an old 1976 Corvette Sting ray worth now days?
we used to call Reliant Robin three wheelers 'plasticpigs'is that your current mode of transport?
Would love to have a Reliant Robin around pattaya, it would be such a laugh.
As I have a sense of humor unlike yourself.
BTW, buying secondhand watches is not the smartest move.
Genuine or not.
Got anymore good advice for members
Have a nice day.

can i ask all of you rolex experts......if i was to buy a new rolex at the bottom end ie the cheapest one available...how much would i be looking at to pay for 1.........??????????????? any info would be great thanks
hi Barry, best advice, don't buy new
they are like cars, you will lose thousands as soon as you walk out the door
there are many reputable and Rolex appointed dealers who sell pre-owned watches
theres a fantastic selection in a shop on Orchard Road in Singapore
theres a great dealer in UK called Ian Blower, he has a website, just Google Blowers.
also i once bought one from Laings in Argylle arcade in Glasgow, they too have a website
if you really want new, you could get likely the base model explorer or air king for anywhere between 1000-1500 pounds
i hope that helps
Sound advice.
Do you buy and sell secondhand cars as well
-
You did spout off and still are.
Get a life .

I wouldn't have my expensive swiss watch serviced in Pattaya OR Bangkok. End of story. Even if you could actually prove that the mechanism had been switched the Police here wouldn't even fill in a complaint card.
All this talk of a place in Pattaya is just silly. Why would anyone trust them not to make a massive balls-up or even switch parts?
Plus why are you two posters keeping the so-called Pattaya 'Salt of the earth' jeweller/watchmaker secret?
You must have more money than sense.
Mr Bean, i think you have proven exactly why i have kept the watchmaker a secret, he does not need to be bothered by rude, doubting Thomas farang like you.......
nor do i
You handled that well
What a silly man you are.
-
Surprised it’s not on the world news.
True or Not
-
A human bite is a very nasty thing
He could still have a Huge or Small problem when its
all; back together.
-
If its real important burn it don’t shred it.
-
Think you did the right thing getting off when you did.
Could have got well out of hand. Up some Soi away from the croweds.
Got pick pocketed at the Cambodian boarder 10 years ago, caught the girl with her had in my pocket, she never got the wallet and I just let her go. Didn’t have the time for the police and all that stuff.
(a bit stupid)
Also got done in Tenerife 15 years ago. Felt a real mug after, they only got 20 quid and me drivers license. I got jostled in a crowed and never thought any more of it, until I went to pay the bill in a restaurant a bit latter on. Bummer.
So it even happens to the best of us.

Bank of Ayuthai

i have had mine serviced in Pattaya many times and always at the same place.
the watchmaker is Rolex certified and i can guarantee you will not get the movement switched
he has all the correct tools and the different types of oil required to service the movement
he carries spare caseback gaskets and a pressure tester to certify its waterproof again after servicing
he has replaced a crystal for me and changed the dial twice
it can be 1000-2000 baht dependant on time taken and any spares required
How can you do that?
I'm sure you are correct about him.
But you can't guarantee someone else's work
Strange thing to say.
I've had my Rolex's glass changed in the place that timekeeper is referring to and 2 years later its still fine, i shower in it reguarly.
Didn't know you were that small Dave.
Did I miss something?
What shop can't see a name or phone number any place.
If I missed it im sorry.
All I saw was timekeeper spout off and say Pm me to the Op
the guy wanted some advice. What's the big secret?
