Or at best phone the dealership up in Bangkok and see if they recommend a shop in pattaya. to under take the work. with correct guaranties

Just for your information, Songkran in Pattaya is always held a week or so after the main songkran holiday. Today is the biggest day Wan Lai - in Thai - (Sunday 19th). It will be huge with thousands of people on the streets. The downside is huge traffic jams in and out of Pattaya all day. Come join the fun. Also enough negative comments about Mayor Ittipol - he is doing a fantastic job and the city is really going places.[/quote]

i have had mine serviced in Pattaya many times and always at the same place.

the watchmaker is Rolex certified and i can guarantee you will not get the movement switched

he has all the correct tools and the different types of oil required to service the movement

he carries spare caseback gaskets and a pressure tester to certify its waterproof again after servicing

he has replaced a crystal for me and changed the dial twice

it can be 1000-2000 baht dependant on time taken and any spares required

I know this might sound rather anal, but absolutely every time I board a baht bus, day or night, in any location, I make a mental note of the number.

In this case, that baht-bus number would prove very interesting/useful to TV members.

I would be very surprised if this episode was anything more sinister than a pick-pocketing rather than an organised kidnap & torture & murder case because as you said this was 'late afternoon'; the Baht Bus from hel_l stories (which I know of a few) happen after midnight.

I was drunk in Gullivers so bought some Fish and Chips the other week, and it was surprisingly delightful.

2 nice chunky pieces of fish, in a thin crispy batter, and the chips werent bad also just not too many of them.

I find fish and chips in the UK to be far too greasy and dont much like the thick greasy batter this food was far better then most back home.

Sounds like you only ever had Fish and chips, North of the Watford Gap

Being a long term expat the sad thing I find with forums is the 'Snipers' who I reckon must jerk themselves silly after bombarding a couple of posts with obscenities.

It's a shame there's no automatic 'dump facility' or a 'trash can' to put theses people into.

The same names crop up with such regularity not just on this forum but also others.

They rarely post but instead choose to snipe away with negative crap.

What's the betting that very few of them live here.

Would it not be a good idea to have alongside our forum info like 'senior member' 'number of posts' etc to say whether we are expats or not.

It might go some way in putting an end to some of the 'snipers' or at best let us know how qualified they are in making their assumptions.

Don’t think length of time in Thailand makes people anymore qualified than the two week holiday guy.

I know people over here for 10 years, they cant speck a word of Thai.

I know people over here who are still sitting in the same bar, for 10 years.

I know people over here that are still spouting the same derogatory things about Thaïs all day long.

I know people over here who still spouting the same Bs about owning land and houses in Thailand.

I know people over here who still think its 5 baht for a baht buss ride. Even though they don’t use the service.

I know people who still say Singer beers; alcohol content is different some times.

I know people who still say you cant have a car/motor cycle in your own name.

Just to mention a few,

These guys are all still saying the same stuff 10 years latter.

on this forum, So read between the lines.

Please remember, pattaya has loads of empty condos and houses all over town.

You can get great deals, with out stupid stuff like giving some tw@t the full whack up front, Only to be disappointed down the line when some thing goes wrong.

And please remember, you have no control, over who lives next door.

You could have a nightmare for a year with the, Guy, Girl, Family, Drug dealer,

next door. It could cost you a load as well, if you like a bit of confrontation.

Over , Noise, dogs, Kids, drunk Thaïs on weekend benders.

Always a laugh.

Just to save 10%, 20%, don't be a mug.

This is the time to strike great deals, with very little money up front.

You don't need to leave your self open like that.

Go strike a deal, away from the estate agents and the like.

Because there is not many people to rent property to at present.

Soundhouse down soi town in town, rock sound in trepprasit and there is also one on sukhumvit rd opposite trepprasit rd.

Thats about the best one in town. give it a go.

I have noticed an increase of rude smoking behavior on baht buses.

While I do believe it is technically not allowed to smoke on baht buses, this is not enforced.

A baht bus is not the great outdoors. It is people crammed together in close quarters. Not only is smoke passed, but burning embers as well. Stop it. You know who you are ...

You should insist on a reduction of the fare, for this heinous crime.

Or some reduced fare vouchers from the driver.
