  2. Anyone checked this out:

Anyone on here removed the baffles from their airbox? What about performance filters for the 650R?....

    Matt.

    Yep seen before.

baffles/snorkels already out on mine, breathes a little better and sounds different but i suggest dont do it unless you have a pcv fitted as this does lean the mix out , like i have along with a modded (db killer) scorpion slip on can. Dont bother with the sub plate removal if you want a smooth throttle responce, it gets a little jumpy with them off, i tried it and didn`t like it...

Oh and a word of WARNING!!!!!!!! For all the 650r owners out here, check the two 12mm bolts on the right side under the steering that hold the light and fairing main bracket onto the main frame, both my bolts came loose last night...the tell tail sign is the mirrors vibrate a little more and the fairing starts to rattle.......i took them out and applied stud lock to them and pulled them back up..........

good old QC control in thailand..i not think

  3. If you're bored you can help me compile a list of must have mods for my 650R I pick up in 13 days... :)

LOL, if you're bored go ahead and read through the last 15 pages of this thread and you'll find a pretty comprehensive list of popular mods for your new Ninja 650R. There are also some forums dedicated to the Ninja 650R.

i was wondering do you have a price list of replacement parts for our model, namely how much for a complete headlight?

just incase i screw it up on the mod...and oh, i`ve fitted the flatfoot and the front lowering pegs as my last 2 mods...great mods.

Whats the latest on your pcv+autotune? you got it yet...regards

  4. Only tourist visa's and visa on arrival will be free.

You can appeal a decision form immigraiton, if it would be succcesful is another mather. If you want to convert it might also be possible to do the conversion in Bangkok.

So, it sounds that the cannot be swayed then, and i was under the understanding that you can only use your local centre to your ampher, as stated in last years changes, re localising your immigration offices..thanks

  5. Yes money has to be in the bank for 3month's

    Here is the law.

    (1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM);

    (2) The applicant is 50 years of age or over;

    (3) Proof of income of not less than Baht 65,000 per month; or

    (4) Account deposit with a bank in Thailand of not less than

800,000 Baht as shown in the bank account for the past 3 months at the filing date of the application. For the first year, the applicant should have that amount in his bank account for not less than 60 days or

    (5) Annual income plus bank account deposit totaling not less

than Baht 800,000 as of the filing date of application

Under the recent U turn regarding the issue of free visa`s, would that include a Non O 90 days, from Vientiane or does it only cover tourist visa`s....

Oh and how do you convince your local immigration office to accept the 2 month rule when they are not willing to accept less than 3 months seasoning when coverting to a retirement extension for the first time.......

  6. Hi Guys,

After having read most of the comments (62 pages) I thought it should be nice to be part of the kwacker club.

I own a ER6-N(green) since 2 months. Before I had a KLX 250 and Ninja 250. Both a bit small for my 100kg butt. Bought them all in Pattaya.

Very pleased with my ER6. Still standard and looking for a slip on. Any suggestions (Tony, Norman..just to name a few hard core bikers).

    Cruise safely!

    Nicky

This is what you`re after Nicky, Scorpion,no remap req`d for this quality great sounding uk made pipe, and if you want more fit the pcv+auto tune as i have done....and no repacking req`d, and as yet no signs of the rivets failing like reports on the 2bros...regards

  7. A conversion to a non immigrant visa requires at least 21 days left on your permission to stay. For the first time the seasoning is indeed 2 months, but it could be that they require 3 months when converting.

If your adress is with them, you can indeed only go there.

Still not sure then, as the form doesn`t mention anything about (when converting from), but it does state the 1900baht fee if that helps?

Oh, and how do you convert a tourist visa to a non `o` if the tourist visa is from an overland entry as they only give 15 days on these..and not 21 days??

  8. The OP clearly states Partner

    Slightly off topic,

when extending my tourist visa for 30 days in issan, i asked them to confirm the process of changing my tourist to non `o` then extension based on retirement...they stated at least 2 weeks left on my tourist visa or extension of tourist visa.....but then the bombshell, they state that your funds 800,000 baht to be in my personal account for a minimum of 3 MONTHS.....i`ve been led to believe on tv that the first extension on retirement ONLY requires 2 months seasoning, but following years 3 months....

I argued this point but they wouldn`t budge, then the produced the form and it clearly states 3 months and the form is dated 2551 v2.22 extension of stay for retirement (documents) form.....please advise. btw i can go to a different imigration office when the time comes, but i think they will just send me back to here as my ampher address is with them...thanks

  9. Two months ago my elbow swelled with fluid. Went to Pattaya Memorial where it was drained. Three days later it filled back up so I returned to the hospital for another aspiration. Prescribed antibiotics were not working. The third visit resulted in a one night stay and surgery to remove the bursa sac. Stitched up and sent home everthing was fine for one month when the elbow turned red and slightly swollen and yellowish substance leaking. Infection for sure but went back to the doctor and he performed another incision under local anesthetics, opened the elbow, aspirated and restitched the elbow. Now a month later everything seems fine except for the arthritic pain that I was told would be there for the rest of my life. Getting older is tough.

Sounds like bursitis, i had the very same, with elbow like a balloon for weeks..just kept getting it drained and it eventually went away...maybe lucky , no surgery req`d..hd

  10. I think you'll be able to get the license with your non-imm o. also your wife should have a tabien ban, house certificate, with a wedding ceritificate that should be enough but I am not completely 100 % sure. I drive the basic 2.5 two door Triton diesel, two seats in front and a rear bench that can take three but probably uncomfortable on a long trip. I picked it up in Bangkok at the auctions about 6 months ago. It's a functional, low maintenance work horse with no frills and it does everything I want. Mitsubishi locally checked the car out for me and said they would honour the original five year warranty. never had any mechanical problems with it since and we've put about 14,000 kms on the clock since we bought it in June. The truck is plenty big enough. The only thing I don't like is the paintwork isn't brilliant....it's perfectly adequate but I drive along dirt tracks quite a lot with lots of vegetation and the body scratches very easily. get one with metallic paint if you are likely to be doing something similar. We didn't need any license to purchase the vehicle and both my wife and I are aliens, but both of us have work permits etc. of all the things we have done since being here, getting jobs, getting married, having a baby and all the paperwork involved, I can tell you the smoothest thing was buying the car and then changing the ownership details....amazingly straightforward in comparison with trying to get a marriage certificate. I'd seriously recommend you check out www.union-auction.com if you are looking for a manual pick up, you'll get access to a range of vehicles at prices you won't get elsewhere, auctions every saturday afternoon. you can download the catalogue on Fridays and see what is on offer and get an idea of prices etc. with the driving licence I presented a UK licence with the paper equivalent and work permit and it was issued immediately following a rudimentary colour blindness test. you'll need to bring a doctor's note saying you are fit to drive....this will cost 50 baht or less ! Any clinic will issue it and I'd be surprised if they say anything to you other than ask your name! Good luck

Just got my 5 year licence for the car and motorbike with a 2 week tourist visa in issan with know issues at all, it surely depends a lot on where you apply...good luck op...hd, oh by the way no tests at all for the one year licence or the 5 year licence, but had an idp and uk licence to show them, but when the 5 year runs out i will have to sit a test like the thais do as their law applies to us as well on the 5 year renewal....

  11. Thanks guys for the quick reply,

slightly off topic...i`m currently in Laos waiting to pick up my x2 tourist visa tomorrow....a bit of a discrepency? the consulate guy when asked said that i could only extend the second tourist visa by 30days but not the first, therefore only getting a total of 5 months and not 6 months as i read here before...i read some where here that when you extend the first tourist visa they move the date on the second one so that when your first 90 days is up and you do a border run the second visa is still valid(in date)?

    your thoughts please.....thanks
