Did You Ever Get the FEELING that...You Are CRAZY?
xtrnuno41 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Noticing the way the world runs, I MUST be crazy. In my younger years, you go with the flow, but changed in years, so now I should conclude, IM crazy. Maybe Im an alien on the wrong planet. -
Logically thinking, I would say, the switch is of inferior quality. Wrong plastic used or made. It started to guide power. Dont know how much amps it will switch. Maybe carbon inside developed, burning plastic, sparking of contacts. Then it starts to loose the protection by plastic. Carbon is a conductor. The switch is in the metal housing? Then as it is grounded, it shouldnt give a shock. There for the grounding isnt working properly. Not connected in machine on housing or anywhere else? Or grounding resistance (placed earth rod, total system) is too high and then you are lower in resistance and get shocked. Static electricity also would be led to ground if properly grounded. If switch is NOT mounted in ground connected metal housing then ground has no effect. There for, replace all of your breakers for RCBO's or just have at least one in mainline. However with just one placed, you have to figure out when, where and with what it goes wrong as all power switches off.

Widespread flooding in Chiang Mai as Ping River breaches flood wall
xtrnuno41 replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
The Dutch didnt even decided what to do with its country upon sea level rise. It is another problem then the rain problem, but never the less a problem. I red there was also a plan to leave the country and let it flood. So we will move to Germany. Dont know about time span on how quick or slow it will show. About half of it lost to water, as we are mostly, way below sea level. In the mean time we are fuzzing about N2 in nature, so that is wasted time, if you dont do a thing about protection sea level rise. Nature will be gone and you only have ...seawater. There are also already islands in the Great Pacific, going down on sea level rise. There has been flooding here as well and no answer on that still. People are still building up their lives again after the flooding in 2021. In the area of Amsterdam, there should be the 2 biggest water pumps of the world. 60000 ltr/sec. Yes, per second! Can you imagine power use of it, hope the electrical grid can handle it. Weird is, I could find that only by searching on English terms and not in my native language. No clue if it is like that. Saw a docu about UK, a village going down on lost of land by sea. A coast as 30 meters high being broken down and houses, village on top lost. According the villagers, government thinks it is too expensive to protect. And thats it. I wonder why UK has already problems and we dont. Or do we? Fact is, climate is changing. Scientists say CO2 and other gasses. I can go with that. I wonder what was the impact when Sadam set many oil wells on fire at that time. But also we pollute our seas with plastics. 8000000 TONS/year in the oceans. Such an amount can change sea currents, wild life in oceans and there for again climate. Once red , there are 5 islands of plastic, as big as Texas floating around in the oceans. Plankton seems to be also a provider of oxygen of the world, not only trees. Can you imagine, it that one isnt there anymore?! We already see coral reefs dying which provide part of plankton. No one seems to care about that and the plastic dumping continues. Yha ok there are some people who do and they fish it out again! What a waste of time, money, stupidiness. Yeah we are on a road to nowhere. Well some people will get rich of it. Criminals who are dumping and get paid for it. And thats the point: the greediness of human, money. Now you can do also a space travel, hurray, only rich to have a tumble in space. Even the environment celebrity Leonardo DiCaprio wants a trip in space, as i red, costing a whopping 90 million dollar. But adding more problems in climate. -

Electric water heater for shower. Copper or Plastic?
xtrnuno41 replied to srowndedbyh2o's topic in DIY Forum
Well water, well what you know about your well water? Is it dirty, are there solid particles in it? Is it acid and why it is acid or not? What acids are there in it. Calcium gives scaling, same as solid parts and can be put on heater anytime. No matter plastic or copper. Plastics used in these applications can stand the heat. Copper can be corroded, depending on what acids are in the water and temperature is also an important factor on corrosion. I cant say about the plastics they use, but i guess they can handle it better then copper. My wifes well has a pH of 4, meaning acid. But not yet problem in heating, just shower cold. Shouldnt be a problem with skin , as your skin would also be pH 4. So maybe even beter. If there are many solid particles in the water, you can filter it with a standard filter and maybe after that filter it with an ion exchanger. A filter with resins in it. It cleans the water, but you have to regenerate from time to time. Of course FIRST get solid parts out, otherwise your ion exchanger is filled with those and destroy your ion filter. You have a well, so maybe there are papers of it, showing what is in it. When my wife started with the well, it is by Thai law to be checked. They can shut down your well and you could be fined if you dont have those tests papers. So my wife did. -
Drug stores now required to always have a pharmacist on duty
xtrnuno41 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Confusing , how many pharmacists are in the shop now or standby? Non registered, registered? Standby is something different then being present in shop. I dont get it. Just say pharmacy only sells medicine (by prescription) when a registered pharmacist is there. Make a shift in what is real medicine (prescription only by doctor) or not. Only to be delivered when registered pharmacist is there.and otherwise not. -
Divorce and NON-O extension
xtrnuno41 replied to stoicccc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is not my business, but why a divorce then? Maybe just stay together married and each doing their own thing. As you said "we are on very good terms" Wait 8 years. -
Southern oil palm farmers complain of falling prices
xtrnuno41 replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
Maybe also because use of palm oil. I hate commercials, but sometimes i see. In those commercials is said, without palm oil. So palm oil is a negative product, bringing that into the commercials to consumers and brings down demand. Consumers are shown, palm oil is bad. Palm oil isnt bad as product, but the growing of palm oil is. Big forests going down for palm oil, effecting eco systems. Besides palm oil trees seem to love water and therefor palm oil is bad. -

Interior Ministry Orders Nationwide Electrical Leakage Check
xtrnuno41 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Rule nr 1: Dont panic, if somebody is electrocuted, dont touch the person. If you can, switch off the power. Be aware you are highly isolated from the person, before taking any actions on removal. If you forget, you could hang in with that person, you, also being electrocuted. Maybe you need quitte an amount of force doing so, as muscles cramp on electricity and it is hard to get it loose, especially when the hand is involved. But the best way is avoiding it, electricians should do proper work and install right. -
What Would You Do If You Had More Money
xtrnuno41 replied to KIngsofisaan's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Really couldnt say, now im in a common mode. Would a lot of money effect me then? Would take some time then or not? Sometimes i think about that, would it change me "negative". Saw docu on tv from UK lottery winners, they blew their money in no time to nothing, really amazing. You also see celebrities blowing their money in things, i think, <deleted> you need that? A shopping with Michael Jackson, wow insane. See a Jeff Bezos buying a yacht, specially made (they mostly are), and probably will use once in a while. But will he built houses for poor people, to give it away? Guess not. So mentality also changes? Also red rare stories about people living in the street and being millionaire. It would be handy more money, but wouldnt know what to do in first place. Just leave it and later think about what it is and what to do. Money its a drag. -
What you want with that? If i red well, it is just a timer manager. It is 60 Hz only, so with 50 Hz you could have "weird things" going on. I wouldnt go there, RED flag, forget it. And what a price for such a stupid timer. One light is 1000 W, so is 1000 /230 = 4,4 A. You can put 4 lights on 1 group, that equals 4X4.4 = 16.16 A on a C20 A fuse. Your cable from the box to the lights should be at least 4mm2. That is only for the 4 lamps on 1 group. And only for going from fuse box to greenhouse. The cables of the lights can just do with a 1mm2 cable. I dont know the distance from house to green house, as otherwise you maybe need even bigger cables. Is is about power loss then. You do the same with the other 4 lamps on another C20 group. Of course in the green house, you ll have to make a WATER TIGHT box with 4 wire connection strips. Per group you have a life (L) wire and a neutral (N), 2 strips. Of course you need to loop the L and N wiring on the strips. Then fit the lights on the other side of the strips, connecting one wire to L and the other to N, totally 4 lamps. Repeat then with the other group on the other strips. Now you can switch manually on the board, the fuses. The T-safety cut can handle up to 60A. Your lights consume 2x 16.1116 = 32.32A. So far all is well. So now it only depends on how much power you are using in your house. You have left over 60-32.32 = 27.68 A. That would/could be enough for your house hold, depending on what big devices you are running in the house. Extreme users are showers, aircon's, electric ovens and/or if you are using them at the same time. The more is on, the higher the Amps are. However i see just 3 C16's and 4 C20's and you say even 2 arent used? You would like to do it automatic?. i would do it with just one light sensor and 2 solid state drives. Sun comes up, light switches off, sun going down light switches on. I see in Lazada sensor 100 baht-ish, solid state 100 baht-ish. Of course the light sensor is away from any artificial light and only reacts on nature ways. So that is 300 baht, the rest is cabling and a water tight box with cable connections. Also i would use AMP wiring connections to the strips, But i dont know how handy you are or the one who is going to execute.

I dont know how about Thailand with electric cookers, but in western way we have with the electric cookers, Perilex plugs and sockets. Like these: On 3 pins are life wires up to 16 A (separated in box on their own fuse with RCBO). One neutral and a ground in the middle. you need them with electric cooking, as not all can run on a single pin. Was looking at your connection, but looks like a wall mount single connection with ground, if you dont want a plug. Yes you can add 2 wires out, but just one supply in. So current is limited by the supply wire (2.5 , 4mm2?) and the fuse where it is on.

Certainly wouldnt use 5 Vdc. Maybe for a single light on table with a 5 VDC charger, but thats it. I guess you want several LED lightnings on one power supply and splitting it further away in condo? I found you a calculation for the desired diameter. In which A= calculated diameter. ρ = specific resistance of copper Ω.m. However this one is also again depending on temperature. 10 E8 = calculation constant to make formula work, due to probably combining formulas l = length of cable in meters P = power in Watts ƒ = choosen powerloss for cable 2 or 3 %, THIS number to be filled in formula. As you will have powerloss depending on current strength and type of cable. The lower you stay the bigger the cable. 2% of 12 volt= 0,24 V U = Power supply voltage, as you see square. You can as Crossy said, afterwards tweak up power supply, ok must have such tweak pot, until you have 12 or 24 Vdc at the end of the line. As well tagging the cables as a DC cable. I can understand you want to make it other color to make difference in it, but it will be probably only for you and you know. Mmm first formula was real tiny, finally I could convert it from SVG to jpg, but ok now you can see clear???? I found this in electric Dutch site and had to translate. Well there are calculators on net, you can fill it in and you get recommendations and results. You dont get to see how they are calculating. and could be also based on you buying more costly, then you need? However finding an answer in formula, you need to rond it up to the next higher cable for safety

Resurfacing of Walking Street is near completion, only street art left
xtrnuno41 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Hope they did also something about water drainage, otherwise you will have a flood over there when it really rains. And in Thailand it can rain very good already. With climate change, it could get worse. On pic i see just one tiny drain and it is already covered with garbage. -
You said 500 Gb. Yes , you will need some, but possibility. You can also use a M-disc. It is said it can keep data for over a 1000 years without loss of data. They are up to 100 Gb, then it only takes 5. Yes then you have to buy an external device to make it and read it, as nowadays it is not so populair anymore. But this M-disc would be very handy for saving your photo's or whatever you want to save, a 1000 years.

Agree, could be a good possibility to make the scaffold unstable. I mentioned, you have to built the scaffold right and that includes with pads ???? It could also be THE point of collapsing, not using pads, easy, wrong way build. Thailand has a lot to improve on work safety. I ve seen the bamboo scaffolds, people working on it. Once a welder, one foot on one bamboo, other foot one a next bamboo, one hand holding himself and the welding with other hand. I was flabbergasted. If i would have done such a thing here, they would have fired me. They made it real tight here. If you work on 1.8 meter height, you need safety fall belt. If not, then they send you walking out of the gate.

Well guess they did the math right and it would be economical worthy. As that is the only point for reusing materials, not for environment or anything else, just simple, money. I red the fist article of Khunper, about Fin air, but they did in 2011 and costed twice as much as standard jet fuel, but ok it can be done. Maybe now worthwhile. This morning i red Qatar is investing in 1,2 billion $ factory to make "blue ammonia". Also some kind of fuel, dont know yet what it contains. But see here: https://www.arabnews.com/node/2153901/business-economy Also a SHELL (and maybe others) has plans to create fuel from CO2 and H2. Dont know if that one will pop up here, as they need "clean" H2 and government and SHELL were hassling about the H2 installation to be built. Shortly after that SHELL moved head quarters to UK. OK, again money. I still would say, reducing number of humans on this world would also be effective. Maybe they are working on that as well, considering increase of viruses like SARS, MERS, Covid. As you cant say, people stop making babies. The worlds economic system is a "Ponzi sceme" and at one point it will hold.

Iron scaffolding dont break that easy, but you have to built it RIGHT. Rain has no effect on metal, though overload on the scaffold can. Also material should be in great condition, dont use broken down items. There is always a limit on the weight of a scaffold. There were already 28 people on it and then extra all the cement. I would say, used wrong way and even maybe built wrong. Then problems occur. Rain for breaking down, c'mon.

Thailand 300 baht entry fee for tourists set to start in early 2023
xtrnuno41 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And then? Just eat it. Allegedly it's ment for a fund for tourist. Thailand revealed it, so done. How many countries have taxes you pay, you dont know about? Then you arent bothered?! Thailand can also say, with coming to Thailand, you increase CO2 exhaust of Thailand, so you have to pay for it. It will or already is running maybe in some countries and you just dont know. Now everybody is whining again about this 300 baht fee. Whining, i will not come to Thailand anymore, because of that. Good go find another country then, but you will not and still go there. Do you whine, when they are increasing tax on sugar? No, you just go on. DId you complain about alcohol being added to petrol? No, it is an hidden, sneaky increase of price. Look at the prices in the world: https://nl.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/#hl153 You see the differences in price? It is all in tax. Do you pay PIT in Thailand, probably a lot dont. So shut up and drive.
