If I wanted to wear a mask and people thought I was being a sheep....I really couldn't give a flying freak. Maybe that's the definition of not being a sheep. That is, not caring if people label you as one.

Agree. This judge is clearly playing political games, but it'll only delay the inevitable. Trump is knee-deep in so many other investigations. But I do think that AG Garland's slow, methodical, by-the-book approach will only embolden Trump. The AG needs to stop messing around and indict Trump already for the J6 debacle. The NARA/classified stuff can be added on later, if proven to be egregious.

Why would you say that people in Thailand wear masks because "no-one wants to be different"....? Have you asked every single Thai? Truth is you're just making that up. Many still wear it because they believe it protects them from COVID as well as other viruses. As for religion, it's way worse in other countries. Not just in Muslim countries, but Christians as well. Sorry to say, but it appears you have no idea what you're talking about.

Justice Department makes redacted Mar-a-Lago affidavit public
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
I don't recall the exact quote but it goes something like this...."It's better to let people think you're crazy than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." -
I'd very much like to know which country you think is not a nation of sheep. Should be good for a few laughs.

Bangkok bank new atm card
Berkshire replied to bubba1's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
From experience, you can get a replacement card at any BKK Bank branch. Just bring your passbook, ID, and old card. -
Not now, but perhaps in the future, you'll realize how nutty you sound. This case is done. FACTS: The prosecution presented their case. The defense presented their argument. The jury made their decision. I should point out that the jury has access to much more relevant information than you ever will. Just because you read on some right wingnut website some bizarro conspiracy theory doesn't make you more informed. Less informed, it seems. It's ok to admit that you're wrong....on this and a great many other things.

This is almost a trick question. Most of us would like to believe that we think for ourselves, do what we want, and not abide by all of society's silly rules. But reality isn't like that. If you live alone on a desert island, then you can do want you want anytime you want. Nobody cares. But if you want to be a part of society, then you will have to make an effort to "fit in." To what degree is of course up to you. If you want to walk around Pattaya in tattered clothes, not bathe for a week, and insult everyone you meet....up to you. Yes, you're being your own man, not a "sheep." Is that what the OP is talking about? To be honest, there is one group of people who are among the least sheepish. Homeless people. For obvious reasons. Do I want to be like them? No. So being a sheep isn't so bad, is it?

But he didn't pay in cash. Putin to Trump: "I make you President of Ukraine when war over." -
Half of GOP Voters Ready to Leave Trump Behind, Poll Finds
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
Some quotes from right wing commentator Ann Coulter, who used to be a huge fan of Trump. Not so much anymore. She believes that Trump is done. Further.... ["I was well familiar with what a narcissistic, ridiculous, tacky, vulgar, arriviste this guy was," she said during an interview on Andrew Sullivan's Dishcast. "That I knew about. The one thing I underestimated, in fact, did not see at all, is, I had no idea how abjectly stupid the man is."] https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ann-coulter-likened-to-rat-jumping-sinking-ship-after-turning-on-trump/ar-AA11jLfA?ocid=wispr&cvid=83580559b09c4433b929b0f005871a9f -
Sarah Palin loses election to represent Alaska in Congress
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
They used a ranked-choice system. There were 1 Dem and 2 Rep, and the votes for the third-place finisher (a Rep) were redistributed to his voter's second choices. Interesting that quite a few of Nick Begich voters put Peltola as their 2nd choice rather than Palin, a fellow Republican. -
Sarah Palin loses election to represent Alaska in Congress

This may very well portend what's to come in the mid-terms. Palin with a well known name and with Trump's endorsement still got beat by a Democrat in a relatively red state. This is what McConnell was talking about regarding candidate quality. Some of these Trump-endorsed candidates are rather weak and although the ex POTUS can move the needle in a primary, he may do more harm than good in a general election. -
Trump asks for a 'special master' to review Mar-a-Lago evidence
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
From the article.... [Trump even posted a meme with his photo pointing to gas at a price of $1.22, implying it had been that low when he was president. The last time it was in that range was 2002, twenty years ago.] The guy lies like he breathes. So let's be frank, anyone who believes Trump's words (read his supporters) are certifiable idiots who shouldn't be allowed to vote. -
Biden cancels $10,000 in federal student loan debt for most borrowers
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
I agree that Presidents have very little control over the stock market. But you said "My pension funds portfolio is down 20% since Uncle Joe became President." So why are you blaming Khun Joe? Nevermind, doesn't matter. -
Biden cancels $10,000 in federal student loan debt for most borrowers

I'm pretty sure your portfolio went down before Joe Biden became POTUS...due to COVID. The market on March 2020 was much lower than it is now. Who was the Prez? At least be honest about it. -

It mostly helped corporations and the investor class. Corporations used the extra money for stock buy-backs, thereby juicing up the stock market artificially....for awhile. -
You'd think the word would get out by now. Unskilled females being lured abroad with the promise of riches are almost always going to be selling sex. Sad to see lives ruined.

President Biden up to 44% approval now, trending upwards. The right wing nutters will not be pleased.... [President Biden’s approval rating rose to 44 percent during the month of August in a new Gallup poll, the latest sign of the president recovering some ground amid a series of legislative wins and a steady decline in gasoline prices.] https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-sees-highest-approval-in-a-year-in-latest-gallup-poll/ar-AA116Coy?ocid=wispr&cvid=1da7d47728e74d158cbca7b2a95912b4

Right Wing hypocrisy exposed....again. And a new stinging two-word rebuttal.... [Now Biden’s debt cancellation has given the phrase new life: “This you?” is rolling through Twitter like a bowling ball, toppling critic after critic as it nullifies their claims. The source of many of the “receipts”, in this case, is the public record of those who had their Payment Protection Plan (PPP) loans – the federal funds intended to keep businesses afloat early in the pandemic – forgiven.] $10,000 seems like peanuts compared to what these right wing "public servants" received in loan forgiveness. https://www.yahoo.com/news/seven-letters-exposing-hypocrisy-marjorie-020020652.html -

Sean Hannity appears to be attacking the President's Student Loan Relief program....I think. [“The people that likely will benefit the most are middle class. You know, think about it. You get out of college, you’re not making a lot of money,” Hannity said on his radio show Wednesday. “We have a lot of young people that work on my TV show, they’re not making a $125,000. They’re now eligible to get in some cases up to $20,000 and in other cases $10,000. This is New Green Deal radical socialism.”] [Hannity, who’s reportedly paid upwards of $30 million a year, noted that there were Fox News employees who could be eligible to have some of their debt canceled.] https://www.yahoo.com/news/sean-hannity-gripes-low-wage-082011492.html
