  1. Our water bill has gone down a lot. The savings are negligible, as the reason for that is our son has gone to Uni in Chiang Rai, and is eating his share of our income.
  2. Now that would be you digging the hole. Almost every other read and understood the post. OTOH, you are the unnecessarily pedantic person trying to make something from nothing. You, like most of us who read the post, understood what he meant, and know that nobody is perfect. OTOH I have no idea of the point that YOU are trying to make.
  3. I have no real comment other than the image below.
  4. You are generalising once again over this incident, Don't tar every Thai teacher as the same, because they are not. Like people everywhere, there are some very good, most are average and there are a small proportion that are bad to very bad. The middle lot need some help to improve and the last lot need to be sacked. Sadly it is difficult to tell by looking who will fall into which category. Most school managers and directors also fall into those categories.
  5. People in positions of power can DEMAND respect and get some sort of respect, but real respect must be earned, and that is not easy.
  6. Well Mr Comer, if you have all this evidence then I suggest that you put in a ,motion for impeachment. Alternatively put the evidence before a grand jury. If you don't have sufficient proof the stop YOUR witch hunt. Either put the governments money where your mouth is, or shut up.
  7. Phew. That is expensive. Having said that I have 1 underground pipe that to my MIL old house which passes under the concrete floor of my work area and under the concrete car port. Another pipe ran underground through the orchard. That was fine until the trees and roots grew and fractured that pipe. Fortunately I cut and capped that pipe as it is not used any more. A simple fix but a hard to find leak.
  8. You may have a small crack in a pipe underground or in the wall somewhere. Inside the house is not too hard to find, but underground you will need to wait for the ground to dry out a bit. Just look for a wet patch or where the grass is longer or greener. At 79 I can still find them but my worn out body can't fix them. Fortunately Mrs Bill knows some men who can fix the leaks, for a price.
  9. You tell her. I am not that brave.
  10. You can have my share for several days. I can't get out and hack the grass down or change some water pipes unless I go out in the rain to do it. I hate getting wet.
  11. When I booted up my pc yesterday morning it tried to get me to load Edge which I have never used. The only way to stop it loading was when I did a restart. I then went into the Windows icon on the bottom left of my screen, clicked on Settings, then default apps, selected Web browser, then Google Chrome and restarted my pc. restarted my pc. Like I told you yesterday, you have to tell the computer what you want it to do, it doesn't know what you want it to do. IMO, the computer is not the problem but the Microsoft programmers who work on the apps, as MS want you to use MS and not necessarily what YOU want to use.
  12. From Carry on up the Khyber with Bernard Bresslaw as Bungdit Din. I always liked the Carry On series.
  13. Probably about a half pint size and it is mostly ice and coke. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=80+proof+alcohol+stroh+80&sca_esv=569124370&sxsrf=AM9HkKm9LQLpvjyy5bNJCPtNU5krEsj7zA%3A1695901105582&ei=sWUVZc6PI6vjseMPxLKTqAo&oq=80+proof+alcohol+Stroh&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiFjgwIHByb29mIGFsY29ob2wgU3Ryb2gqAggBMgUQIRigATIFECEYoAFIoUtQjAhYlzhwAXgBkAEAmAGFAaABiAWqAQMxLjW4AQHIAQD4AQHCAgoQABhHGNYEGLADwgIKEAAYigUYsAMYQ8ICDhAAGOQCGNYEGLAD2AEBwgIWEC4YigUYxwEY0QMYyAMYsAMYQ9gBAsICEBAuGIoFGMgDGLADGEPYAQLCAgUQABiABMICChAAGIAEGBQYhwLCAgYQABgWGB7CAggQABgWGB4YD8ICCBAAGIoFGIYD4gMEGAAgQYgGAZAGE7oGBggBEAEYCboGBggCEAEYCA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp STROH 80 is an icon of Austrian spirits and is tightly bound to the culinary and baking traditions of Austria. 14. In my 50 years of working life I never joined a union, joined in a strike action. Why would I need to? I didn't need anybody to tell me to withdraw my labour (thus earning only my strike pay which I would pay for in union subscriptions). In effect I would be paying myself in the hope of possibly getting more money in the future. And having to work longer just to get my money back that I lost. Nor would I be happy if another union official called the members out on strike to support me, thus dropping themselves down to strike level pay. If I wasn't happy then I could always leave and get another job elsewhere, and I did, twice. I can understand the historical reasons why the unions started. Why should President Biden NEED to join a strike action in the first place. It is a personal choice that HE made.
  15. Not psychic at all but just offering my opinion, as you do.
  16. At 79 years old I have judged myself and I quit drinking alcohol 3 years ago after 60 years consuming it. I thought it was about time to give my body a chance to recover. In my last couple of years I was drinking between 3 and 4 x 750 ml bottles of Hong Thong a week and I figured that was a bit much. Now I drink Stroh 80 proof rum, coke and ice. 1 glass every New Years Eve.
  17. I drove my 2001 Ford Ranger drove through the floods in Bangkok in 2002. I am still driving it in 2023. None of the wheel bearings have been replaced, the brakes have never corroded and it does not have the latest electronics. What it does have is over 491,xxx kms on the clock. It rattles away every day, it starts first time and the only times it let me down is when the battery died, because I didn't replace it after every 4 or 5 years. Out here in rural Kamphaeng there are still quite a few Ford Rangers older than mine that are still rattling along. @Impulse Have you ever owned a Ford Ranger?
  18. One wa7y to cut costs would be to lower ticket prices. Another would be to cut management salaries by up to 50% for the senior management, and by 10% at the bottom end of the management ranks. You are a private company. It is your problem to sort out and NOT the Thai governments. https://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/ไทยแอร์เอเชีย Thai AirAsia SET : AAV is a low-cost airline joint venture of Malaysia AirAsia and Asia Aviation of Thailand operate AirAsia domestic and international flights from Bangkok and other cities in Thailand
  19. Are you claiming that happens to everybody who drinks alcohol, or only the people who over indulge?
  20. So as usual you have nothing to back your claim but your word. That is worth nothing.
  21. This is an unofficial Pea tariff in English and in Thai from 2015 and gives the various rates for single and 3 phase meters. The prices are out of date but the tariffs probably still apply. https://www.pea.co.th/Portals/1/Knowledge PEA/Electricity Tariffs JAN66 Unofficial Translation.pdf?ver=2023-01-27-133655-423 Also IIRC poor Thais pay even less and in some cases they only pay the standing charge for the meter.
  22. Please tells all how the previous government are responsible for this current debacle. I don't remember ANY cannabis shop being FORCED to open by the previous government, nor in fact by the current government. The owners willingly spent their own money to open their shops and make money despite Anutin stating that the cannabis was for medical use only, and NOT for recreational use. So please tell us all, why YOU believe that the government should pay for business losses. If you are in business you take the profit and absorb the loss. If you can't take the loss then you shouldn't be in the business.
  23. Before you sign the contract, you could always check the price charged for, electricity, water, Wi-Fi etc for the condo. Once you know the charges you could try negotiating for a lower price (get it in writing). If they won't negotiate, then you can bite the bullet and accept the price or look for a different place to rent. Until you sign the contract, you are in control. You need a place to live and he needs to rent the condo. There are more condo's to rent than there are tenants so I read. He needs you more than you needs him. Once you sign the contract, he has control.
  24. Why does the government heed to pay anything at all? It is not as if they made a law forcing the shops to sell cannabis. If you open any business why would you expect somebody to bail you out if your business fails. Never invest more than you can afford to lose in a business.
  25. Unfortunately Anutin did NOT make it perfectly clear or when it was passed the wording would have been included. IMO he left it like that as the BJP expected to win the election and he expected to be re-nominated as health minister. It is not as if he did not have enough time to do the job properly either.
