Opinion: Move Forward Party’s Risky Game and Mixed Reactions
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Who really cares what "we" (BTW you are not speaking for me) and you are certainly not speaking for the Thai people whose country you are staying in. As with your usual rants and whines, you only seem to care about yourself. -
Phuket Tram Project Expected to Start in About Two Years
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Phuket's provincial government can have what ever they want and can pay for from their own funds and borrowing, Why should the whole of Thailand subsidise a railway that the majority of the Thai people will never use? If Phuket and the people who work and live there, plus the zillion tourists want to put their own money where their begging bowl and mouth is, good for them. But please don't keep coming to the government, begging and demanding that the government subsidise you, and you keep all the profit. To quote from an old Jeremy Taylor song, 'Whatever you want, the answer's NO'. -
I am sure that he would appreciate that.

Dutch father and son die in truck crash in Nakhon Ratchasima

AFAIR murder is a preplanned attack on another persons life. How did you manage to come up with that preposterous idea? -
And so much provable evidence was found against Trump. How much provable evidence has been found against President Biden by the the various republican 'oversight committees' since they started their investigations? All the investigating committees have to do, is to bring it to a grand jury, and if they find it proven, they can bring it to the DoJ with a recommendation to prosecute. Why have they not done so? What a surprise from you. It is coming, just wait a while. I am fed up with the same old same old message from you as it NEVER seems to materialise.

⟺ You Believe in GOD: Do You Believe GOD is Trustworthy?
billd766 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I agree with @fredwiggy in a way because he firmly believes in something and he is faithful to it. All the other gods you mention may or may not have existed, just like christianity, but they came from the need to believe in something. If you want to go further back, ask yourself, what did people believe in before the gods came along? If we believe that people were around before religion, why are there so many different religions around the world? Who chooses what a religion and what the rules are going to be? What gives anyone the right to found a religion and then condemn all other religions as false and all their followers as unbelievers and heretics? -
⟺ You Believe in GOD: Do You Believe GOD is Trustworthy?
billd766 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I was brought up as a protestant as were my parents for generations before, but when you are a child you know no better. I left home at 15 and joined the RAF and went to church parade every Sunday. That is where I found that there were far more religions and I also found that whilst we British believed in god, so did the Germans, the French and other countries when they were fighting on our side or against us. I thought about that, and could not understand how any god could be on more sides at the same time. I still cant. Both Prussia and Germany had ' gott mit uns' on their belts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gott_mit_uns Then I realised that the christians were killing muslims simply because each believed that THEIR god was the only true god and all other worshipers were heretics and had to convert or be killed. I looked at the christian god who is compassionate, kind and loving, yet let men, women and children of all ages, races and religions die of cold, hunger, thirst and disease by doing nothing. Prayers were no help, religion was no help. Donations to churches were no help. The belief of everlasting life after death means nothing means nothing as nobody has ever come back again after death to prove it. I have come to the conclusion that religion is simply a belief. You either believe in something or you don't, and in the end it doesn't really matter. I am sorry for rambling on. -

And you truly believe that your religion has the one true god and that billions of people across the world are wrong. Good for you. Never mind that your faith is based on a book that has little substance in reality. You do realise that Jesus was not even christian or Jewish, but a Palestinian. That your bible new testament was written hundreds of years after the event by people who were not even born at the time of the events. -
US avoids government shutdown as Senate passes stopgap funding bill
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
IMHO the government should never be shut down. Again IMHO what should happen if is does shut down, is that for every day it is shut, every member of the house and the senate, should get NO salary or expenses for one month. If it lasts for 12 days then they lose one years salary. Put the responsibility firmly where it belongs, at the feet of the politicians. -

And Whose god are you referring to? There are hundreds of gods and religions in the world many many are thousands of years older than christianity. Many of them are splinter group gods, and many of them claim that theirs is the one true god. -
You seem to misunderstand. I am merely responding to your posts.

How does half European half Thai child usually look like
billd766 replied to NorwayThai's topic in Family and Children
I am English and my wife is Thai. Our 19 year old son looks completely Thai. My neighbour is Thai. The father is a white Kiwi. Their 18 year old daughter looks like her Mum would look if her Mum was a white foreigner. The most important thing for children is that they grow up fit, loving and healthy. -

According to Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children's_Favourites Uncle Mac was Derek McCulloch, known as Uncle Mac. The programme played requests from children of all ages. For the first 11 years of its run, the programme was introduced by Derek McCulloch, known as Uncle Mac. McCulloch's grandfatherly tone was quintessentially 'old-school' BBC.[2] His opening words "Hello children, everywhere!", his catch-phrase was a modification of his much earlier closing words "Goodnight children, everywhere" on Children's Hour. He was the one that I remember until I left home in January 1960. McCulloch made his last broadcast in 1965 and several other presenters were tried including Leslie Crowther. After BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2 were launched, the show was renamed Junior Choice and simultaneously broadcast on both stations. I only have a very vague memory of Sandy MacPherson. All I can remember is the announcer saying something like " and here is Sandy MacPherson at the theatre organ". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_MacPherson After the war, MacPherson also periodically gave recitals on parish church organs in England and Wales. He retired from the position of BBC Theatre Organist in 1963 and the BBC sold the 5-manual 27-rank Moller organ, it being assumed that the days of theatre-organ music were over, with audience numbers for this genre fast declining. -

School management told to explain slapping incident

The law of averages is meaningless in your response as nothing to compare it with. I know more than 5 poor Thais. Does that make all Thais poor. According to your law of averages, the answer would be yes. If I knew 5 rich Thais. Would that that make all Thais rich. According to your law of averages, the answer would also be yes. Obviously both of those statements are wrong because there is nothing to compare them with. -

My advice to you FWIW, is to PM Sheryl and get to a hospital asap. She can give you far better advice than me, but judging by your BP readings given here, and the recommendations from my Microlife BP 3AP1 3E BP tester, you may need to see a specialist rather than the normal GP. My problem was that I was on blood thinning tablets, Morfarin 5mg, and my BP was to low, the doctor said I should stop them (that worked for me) and my BP went up towards the normal range. This is from the operating manual from my Microlife BP 3AP1 3E BP tester and you should do a search across several medical web sites and come up with an average for a man of your age and weight, then compare it with your readings. But Please Please contact Sheryl as she knows more than any other poster on this site. I can only speak for me, as everybody is different. my Microlife BP 3AP1 3E BP tester Range Systolic Diastolic recommendation <99 < 59 consult your doctor 100 > 119 60 >79 Optimum self check 120 > 129 80 > 85 Normal self check 130 > 139 85 > 89 Too high consult your doctor 140 > 159 89 > 99 Seek Medical advice 170 > 179 100 > 109 BP far too high Seek Medical advice 180 > 110 > Urgently Seek Medical advice
