  1. Of course it matters. The money never belonged to the US in the first place. If you really want to know if any of that money was used, why ask anybody on an insignificant English website in Thailand? Do you really think anybody here has any idea. Why not send a message to the nearest Iran embassy or diplomatic mission or you could ask the Iranian government directly. Here is a list to get you started. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_diplomatic_missions_of_Iran Alternatively contact the Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs at https://en.mfa.ir/ Make sure your request for information is made in the correct language as you may not get a reply. Although Persian (Farsi) is the predominant and official language of Iran, a number of languages and dialects from three language families—Indo-European, Altaic, and Afro-Asiatic—are spoken. Roughly three-fourths of Iranians speak one of the Indo-European languages.
  2. You are correct and everybody else is wrong. Sarcasm mode now switched off.
  3. So where would all the Jewish people have lived that have been born, live today? https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jewish-and-non-jewish-population-of-israel-palestine-1517-present Year 1947 Jews 630,000 (core population) Non-Jews 1.324,000 Total Population 1,970,000 % Jewish 32.0% Roll forward to 2022. Year 2022 Jews 7,101,400 (core population) Non-Jews 2,560,000 Total Population 9.662,000 % Jewish 73.5% In addition The British mandate for Palestine, which began in 1922, ended prior to Israel’s declaration of independence on May 14, 1948. The Arab states invaded, and following the war, Palestine ceased to exist. The figures for 1948 are for the State of Israel. The figures prior to 1970 do not include the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, or the Golan Heights, which were occupied by Jordan, Egypt, and Syria, respectively. From 1970, the figures only include citizens of Israel and not Palestinians living in the disputed territories. *As of September 14, 2023 To me, the last sentence is the telling important one. To me it means that to the Israelis don't even bother to count the Palestinians and treat then as "untermensch", or non people. From 1970, the figures only include citizens of Israel and not Palestinians living in the disputed territories. I did the bolding and underlining.
  4. quote "It was just a month ago that Iran received 6 Billion $ from the USA". That money belonged to Iran in the first place and was NOT received from the USA, but RETURNED to Iran. https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=571814303&rlz=1C1CHBF_enTH1026TH1026&sxsrf=AM9HkKmasam1bTTzTYbJGSFzKcArcLjcpQ:1696831393285&q=Iran+received+6+Billion+$+from+the+US&spell=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjGw8LDpeiBAxUYTWwGHa5eD0wQBSgAegQICBAB&biw=1024&bih=441&dpr=1.88 WHAT WAS THE IRAN PRISONER SWAP DEAL? In August, details were made public of a complicated agreement that President Joe Biden approved. Five U.S. citizens detained by Tehran were allowed to leave the country in exchange for the transfer of $6 billion in Iranian funds that had been frozen in South Korea. I DO wish that you would do some research before posting misleading statements.
  5. I have not seen many posters on here supporting the Palestinians when Israel attacks them with tanks, ground attack aircraft and helicopter gunships. The lady here is incorrect about when the war started. That was in in 1948 when Israel was "given" a lump of Palestine and it has gone downhill ever since.
  6. Does it matter? It might have been the ministry of dirty tricks, or anyone with some money and/or a grudge against Thaksin.
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manas_Kongpan He was NOT jailed for being part of a military coup, but for, Manas Kongpan (1956 – 2 June 2021) was a Thai convicted human trafficker and military commander. From 2008 to 2015, he led the Thai army's policies towards Rohingya refugees, before being arrested on multiple charges, including ordering refugees to be marooned at sea without any means of survival and extorting ransoms from families of refugees.[1][2] In 2017, he was convicted of the charges, and served the rest of this life in prison. https://www.benarnews.org/english/news/thai/heart-attack-06032021164248.html “Lt. Gen. Manas Kongpaen was found guilty of five offenses, punishable to 55 years. Combined with other previous 27-year jail terms from other crimes, the total jail term now is 82 years,” a judge at the Ratchada Criminal Court in Bangkok said in 2019 while upholding the lower court’s decision.
  8. I am 79, and quite often have a short term memory problem. A small gentle reminder for you.
  9. Isn't it strange that you keep complaining about Thaksin being guilty of all these crimes, yet you fail to mention that all the justices and the courts were under the control of the military who committed treason by taking over the country with a military coup. You don't mention that NO military general in Thailand has ever been charged with holding a coup, let alone been punished or sentenced for ANY crime. Did you really expect anything different from a coup government. Thailand has spent the last 9 years under the boots of the military. Has it been better or worse than under a freely elected government?
  10. How laughable. I have said that to you twice now, yet you still can't let the topic go.
  11. Tell that to Israel, who are constantly stealing land and murdering unarmed civilians using tanks, ground attack aircraft and helicopter gunships. Israel has blockaded the Gaza Strip by a land sea and air blockade, They control food, water, medical supplies, yet when the Palestinians fight back, people like Netanyahu let slip the dogs of war. Their response is always, what about the genocide during WW2. That was over 70 years ago and the majority of the people involved are dead and Germany has been punished, both as individuals and as a country. What Israel is doing now is also genocide but their warmongering leaders simply don't care.
  12. Yet the critics in the world are very quiet when the Israelis attack Gaza and the Palestinians with their army, its tanks, ground attack aircraft and helicopter gunships.
  13. Why should there be ANY US presence in Israel at all?
  14. That only works if you are religious in any way. Going back centuries religion has caused more deaths than any wars between any countries.
  15. https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-middle-east-67037895 Having been given parts of Palestine in 1947, Israel has been at war since then, and with warmongering PMs like Golda Meir and Benjamin Netanyahu it is hardly surprising.
  16. Firstly I don't have a side. Secondly, are you suggesting that I only respond nicely to everybody else's post? Thirdly I post as I find and if it offends you, then as I explained in an earlier post, the remedy is in your hands. Strangely enough it seems that only you seem to be affected by my posts, nobody else seems to have complained.
  17. NOT all the Thai people are the same so please don't generalise. NOT all farangs are the same in pouring money and cars over their girlfriends either.
  18. Nor should it always go the way that YOU want either.
  19. I have never liked him or believed any word he has ever said. IMHO he is the most odious and repulsive people ever to have been inflicted on Thailand. Why should Chalerm be "given" a cabinet seat in the first place anyway?
  20. And did you believe every word Chalerm said?
  21. The topic is from the world news forum and is open to comments from everyone. If you don't like the post, you can always report it to the moderators, and let them deal with it as they wish. Oh dear, did you get out of bed the wrong side today?
  22. My wife's hair was long a black (now it is turning grey and shorter. Yes it smelled good, as did all of her.
  23. What is WRONG with these people mentally? Well whoop de do. I am 21 years older than my wife and I sing all sorts of songs to her, mostly old ones as they are the ones I remember. Normally she shows good sense and walks away. Does that make me a pervert too? BTW she was 27 when we first met 30 years ago and been married for 23 years with a 19 year old son.
  24. I hope that he has got a lot of waist length fisherman's waders to give away.
