  1. And before that what do they need? They need to win either an overall majority or be in a coalition with an overall majority. Without that it will not happen. But of course that is only my thoughts and opinion and I only speak for myself. Your opinion is only yours and you are speaking for yourself, and not for the millions of Thai voters, THEY are the people who matter, not you, i or any farang who does not have a vote or a voice in the election. If that is what they choose, it is up to them.
  2. They would need extra training and work for a lower salary though.
  3. Out here in rural Kamphaeng Phet next to the Mae Wong national park we had our first "real" rain this year. Thunder and lightning a few times but for an hour we had steady rain. Puddles on the concrete and in the ruts, but the ground is still mostly baked hard. I swear I even heard the trees saying thank you. The outside temperature dropped 10 degrees C in 3 hours to a comfortable 29.7C at the moment.
  4. He is correct. There is no god but there are still hundreds of gods being worshipped around the world every day. Few of them have the arrogance to claim that their god is the only true god, and all the other gods are false.
  5. There is already a surplus of electricity generating power in Thailand which EGAT (through its customers bills) is already paying for, and when the dam across the Mekong in Laos has been completed (with Thai funding),Egat has already contracted to buy that s well.
  6. The problem is that it is neither completely legal nor completely illegal. So which part do you want to tax? If it is illegally imported/smuggled into the country, do you catch the smugglers and make them pay the import tax, inspect every ganja shop, every week and tax the shop owners who bought the stuff, confiscate it etc.
  7. AFAIK cannabis is only legal for medical purposes and NOT for recreational use. If there is a problem, please contact the BJT and Anutin in particular for screwing up the legislation in his mad rush to be the next PM in Thailand. BTW nobody has forced any cannabis shop to open. it is just a normal business risk in which some win and some lose. If your shop is being undercut, then cut your prices and your profits and sell quality goods. If that is beyond your comprehension, then stop crying about it.
  8. Not many people want to think or talk about it. I am 78, and here in Thailand I am very lucky that my Thai wife at 57 helps me when I ask, and sometime when I don't ask. My ex wife in the UK is now 77 and having a problem coping just with herself at times, so if we were still married we would both have problems that would/will multiply as we get older.
  9. You will believe whatever you want. The truth as shown many times elsewhere or not.
  10. I forgot about my pink Thai ID card. Personally I find travelling difficult nowadays even though my wife does the driving. It is the movement between the stops that I find hardest My time for travelling overseas finished in 2009 when I retired back to Thailand. I suspect that if I went back to the UK to see my son and his family I may not make it back alive again. I am 78 and bone weary. I have a back back and a problem walking more than 25 metres without a break to sit for a few minutes, relax and get my breath back. The passport in my case will be for marriage extension use only.
  11. Please do NOT think that you speak for me or the thousands people who turned up in person, let alone the millions who watched it live in the UK and around the world. You do NOT. You speak only for yourself and maybe a few other people.
  12. That would make a good election slogan. "Dump the dinosaurs"
  13. So why DID he transfer the funds to his sisters account?
  14. Did you see any other party representatives doing the same thing?
  15. Nobody in my family here in Thailand or the UK even cares. I do agree with you about justice though. Even if the GOP has nothing, they should be given justice for even bringing the case. As for the Democrats, it is all about Hunter Biden and NOT his father, something you seem to overlook.
  16. I have my Thai D/L, my yellow house book plus a certificate of residence from the IO at KPP Immigration.
  17. The problem with political polls is that there are so many and have differing results. If you don't like any of todays, there will be more tomorrow.
  18. My Thai MIL used to live in a small house we had built for them both until she died a few years ago. My FIL lived in BKK and my wife's brothers families used to help out with him. My wife would spend 2 weeks helping them and 1 week at home with me. That way they all got a weeks break in 3, until he died several years ago.
  19. I just checked my Thai D/L, and it is the same as yours in both Thai and English.
  20. I don't have a visa agent and the IO in Kamphaeng Phet doesn't deal with any either.
  21. If it is hidden, yet you know it is 10%, it cannot have been hidden very well. Unless like some posters, you are making it up. That is a simple problem to fix. Prove it.
  22. Not so much anymore as the younger family also need to make a living as well. Then who will look after them when they age?
