  1. The laws are already there, but as usual they are not enforced. That comes from the very top of the heap.
  2. If you think that Thai music is complete garbage, you must have missed a lot of the UK punk and grunge music of the 1980s. It was worse than soi dogs howling in the middle of the night.
  3. IMHO Belarus has more to worry about from Wagner than poland has, especially as they now have tactical Russian nukes. But a good idea from Poland, just in case.
  4. Not so. The deepest part of Thai waters is around 190 metres. The Yuan class submarine has these details https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_039A_submarine Structure: double hulled Length: 66 meter Beam: 8 meter Draft: 8.2 meter Surface displacement: 1,850 tons Submerged displacement: 2,300 tons Maximum speed: 18 knots Cruise speed: 16 knots Range: 8000 nautical miles at 16 knots Endurance: 60 days Crew: 38 total Maximum depth: 300 meters The draft of 8.2 metres means the normal depth of water from the keel to the waterline. Even if you add another 12 metres to it to get to periscope depth, it is still only 20 metres in height. That means that if it is on the seabed there is still 150 metres of water above it at the deepest point of the Gulf of Thailand.
  5. And very shallow waters. The RTN would have done better to but a fleet of anti submarine vessels and exercise with the 2 Malaysian submarines, or the 4 Singapore submarines, or the 4 Indonesian submarines. Each country could learn from these exercises, not to mention that anti submarine vessels would be cheaper.
  6. I read of much condemnation in the MSM from some western countries about the USA supplying cluster weapons to the Ukraine. What I have not read is the equal or more condemnation from the same western countries about Russia using cluster weapons themselves, and have been doing for a while now. IMHO the USA is supplying cluster weapons, mainly because they have run out of stock of 'normal' shells and they cannot instantly ramp up production of those shells to replenish their own stocks. When their own stocks are replenished, 'normal' service (whatever that is) will be resumed.
  7. Who is 'we'? You are speaking for yourself and NOT for anybody else, especially you are NOT speaking for me.
  8. Send the entire bill to the persons who signed it off with 1 month to pay it in. Block ALL their bank accounts and passports (if any). If they have not paid it within 1 month, arrest them (no bail) and charge them with theft of public funds. 10 years in jail minimum.
  9. I have a friend who has a Kindle reader from Amazon. I have sent him a load of Ebooks in MOBI, but his Kindle simply will not accept them to read. The Kindle, whilst it is an excellent Ebook reader seems to be locked into books from Amazon only. I use a Lenovo tablet and I can read books from any source plus it is a normal tablet as well. I am sure that there must be a way to override Amazon but I have no idea how to do it.
  10. Until the current caretaker gets their grubby paws near it. Those Myanmar children could be a threat to the "sacred'" military of Thailand in the future. Just imagine, what children with an education could do in the future.
  11. Mine is for personal and not commercial use only. I tend to read for an hour or so in the evenings as I am more a night owl now and it helps me sleep.
  12. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to be given 1.6 tB of books and I have been given another couple of downloads since. They are in many formats and I am slowly converting them to MOBI. So far up to December 31st 2022 I have converted 5954 Authors at this date, but how many books I would take a guess at 30,xxx plus as some authors have only written 1 book and some have written 40 plus books. I spend about 1 hour most evenings converting 10 or more authors to MOBI. I have spent about 70 hours this year converting books, so I must have IRO 6,1xx authors done.
  13. The congestion is NOT caused by farangs but by Thais who have little money. Increase the price and yes, the congestion will decrease, but more people will die through not being able to afford to go to hospital.
  14. I am taking 2 x Tocarlol 6.25 mg after breakfast and 2 x Tocarlol 6.25 mg plus 1 x Simvastin 20 mg or Eucor 25 mg plus 1 x Orfarin/Morfarin 5mg tablet in the evening as the doctor recommends. All supplied by the local state hospital.
  15. And then try to lay the blame for THEIR screw up onto PITA and the MFP.
  16. A lot depends on the ailments and the patient. The farthest I managed to walk lately is about 25 to 30 metres. The problem I have is that if I fall on the ground my Thai wife is not stronenough to pick me up, even to a sitting position.
  17. That would scare the crap out of me. usually though it is a case of flat battery. Recharge the batteries it it is OK. I was lucky as I went to the Naresuan hospital because of that and I am sure that they caught it early on. I had a blackout in February at home and when I woke from it I had no idea where I was other than a hospital, what day or time it was or how I got there. I think it was due to standing up quickly with low blood pressure. I am glad to know you recovered. Many people don't recover. That is about 350 km from me and where I had 2 stents put in back in 2006,
  18. AFAIK there is only Sheryl on ANN who is a qualified UK nurse and she is very helpful, but sadly for most of us I believe she lives in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.
  19. Which hospitals, and where in Thailand is this practiced?
  20. I go to my local hospital 13 km away every couple of months to top up my meds as the doctor asks me to. I also go for an appointment at the Naresuan teaching hospital in Phitsanulok 150 km away, where they have more doctors and their teachers and more equipment. They also have a larger catchment area and more experience. They diagnosed my breathing problems as a lower lung infection, which could be either pneumonia or long term Covid (the symptoms are similar). I looked up on Dr Google and downloaded some UK NHS breathing exercises which I think help as well. I do them 3 or 4 times a day for about 5 minutes a time.
  21. My BP this month has been Date Sys Dia Pulse 1 111 65 88 2 115 62 87 3 109 62 81 4 114 67 99 5 108 62 87 6 109 64 77 7 110 71 88 8 112 63 82 This is the middle value of 5 checks I take every day before breakfast. Much lower than yours. but within the acceptable limits of my Microlife BP tester.
