Washington set to become 10th state to ban assault weapons sales

That was aimed more at KhunLA than generally. There is no real need to hunt and kill for food anymore, as there was when the 2nd amendment was written. That was back in the days of muzzle loading, black power rifles, where if you were very good and well trained, you might get 2 shots off in a minute. Nowadays you can buy most sorts of meat in the supermarket and the only reasons to kill wild animals is to cull them. An AR15 is not that much good for culling. A bolt action rifle of a reasonable calibre will do the job better, provided that the person pulling the trigger knows what they are doing. -
Thank you for those 2 very interesting links. reading into them says a "well regulated militia" seems to be required to obtain and hold a weapon, and the militia seems to have been replaced by the individual National Guard units. It would be interesting to know how many individuals holding any weapons are actually members of any State National Guard units. The National Guard units seem to have their weapons provided by the national governments and held in fairly secure armories, unlike the people who have bought their own weapons, are not in the National Guard units, and theoretically illegally holding those weapons. I am now waiting for the posters to come back saying. that as only handguns were used it wasn't really a massacre and nothing to do with the second amendment. My answer to that is say that face to face to the parents, brothers and sisters, family and friends of those 4 people who were mercilessly slaughtered at a 16th birthday party.

Why do you have the NEED to shoot a deer? Has a deer ever hunted you for your meat? You can buy the deer meat in a supermarket. -
Six more Bidens may have gained from family business schemes: Comer

I do hope that the whistleblower actually has genuine substantive proof and not unproven allegations. -

My wedding anniversary is coming soon, my birthday is coming soon, even Xmas is coming soon and I know all those dates are correct. OTOH you have nothing, no proof that is coming soon, no date. So all we have is your word, and that frankly, judged on your past posts, is not worth anything either. It is not hard for me as I tend to take your posts with a shovel full of salt, but it seems so hard for you to get verifiable proof of anything. -
IIRC, ANY income earned through any UK company, onshore or offshore, is deemed to be taxable in the UK. All pension providers report pensions to the DWP and there is a tax free allowance that every person gets. Income beyond that point is taxable. https://www.gov.uk/income-tax-rates Income Tax rates and bands The table shows the tax rates you pay in each band if you have a standard Personal Allowance of £12,570. Income tax bands are different if you live in Scotland. Band Taxable income Tax rate Personal Allowance Up to £12,570 0% Basic rate £12,571 to £50,270 20% Higher rate £50,271 to £125,140 40% Additional rate over £125,140 45% You need to contact the DWP directly and ask them why your pension is being taxed and by how much. Whilst Thailand and the UK do have a dual taxation agreement you will only pay income tax in one country, in your case as with most of us in Thailand, it will be in the UK. https://www.gov.uk/contact-hmrc

How many handguns and knives have been used in mass murders this year alone versus assault weapons? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-03-30/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-us/102158776 Mass shootings involving assault weapons are far deadlier History has shown that when assault weapons and high-capacity magazines are used in mass shootings, they result in far more deaths and injuries. Poor try at diverting the subject. Again. -

Prevent your retirement visa in Thailand from expiring
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Does it really matter what it is called? "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" The majority of people who have done the extension know the difference and don't really care. Only pedantic people care. -

I just did my 90 day report this morning at the Kamphaeng Phet IO office, 2 days after the due date with no problem. It can be done up to 7 days after. However from the 8th reporting day after there is a 2,000 baht fine. -
I am not sure if another coup will work this time. There are more younger voters available, 6 plus million voters were disenfranchised at the last election, the older rabid loyalists are dying off and I am not sure if the generals can rely on the troops this time around. There is of course the "Praetorian Guard". They are not of the same group that led the last coup, but are "owned" for want of a better term, by he who cannot be mentioned by name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King's_Guard_(Thailand) The King's Guard (Thai: ทหารรักษาพระองค์; RTGS: Thahan Raksa Phra Ong) is a ceremonial designation given by the Monarchy of Thailand to the various units within the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Practical and real security of the Royal family has since 1992 been provided by the Royal Security Command, which is an agency that is completely independent of the armed forces. The Royal Guards are today composed of 87 formations (formerly 94 battalions or equivalents), mostly found in the Royal Thai Army. There seems to be a very large number of troops in the Royal Guards. There is more information in the link.

Finnish man accused by neighbours of insulting Thai people
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
I have been living in Thailand since 2001 and I have never seen violence against farang, thefts and more. Thailand is a dangerous country for tourist and expat’s to live those days. Every Thai want a bit off you, your money is not safe here, same your life… So much depends on where you live and your attitude towards the Thai people. I live in rural Kamphaeng Phet and AFAIK I am treated the same as the Thais and pay the same prices that Thais do. -

Do you understand what an out fo court settlement actually means? It means that they are admitting the fault is theirs and are willing to pay up a sum acceptable, rather than going forward in court, losing their case and paying what the judge decides they should pay. If I were running the case on the Dominion side I would have refused any out of court settlement and left it to the judge.
