Pheu Thai Party unveils its three prime ministerial candidates
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Actually I talk along with my Thai wife to her family and out Thai friends both here in rural Kamphaeng Phet . Other parts of the family and friends live in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Bang Saen, Korat and I think in Kohn Kaen as well, and NONE of them support the military and most dislike Prayuth. -
You seem to have acquired the knack of insulting anybody who disagrees with you, let alone millions of Brits who think and act differently to you. That, at least on this thread would only be you. You still have not explained why you HATE Camilla so much. What has she ever done to you? I have my own opinion of Diana but I keep it to myself.

Yet you support military coups, and don't seem to care that most Thai people don't. -
What a load of cobblers. Dismissing millions of people, just because you hate one person. They have just as much right to their feelings and opinions as you do. You will see that on Coronation Day. I expect that you will be well outnumbered. Many years ago my Mum taught me that if you cannot say any good of a person, then don't say anything. Reading your posts, my Mum was right. I can understand that YOU don't like Camilla, but there is no need for personal insults such as you spout on this thread.

But you are only one Thai with only one vote. Many other Thais will disagree with you. Check the results on election day and see how many agree/disagree with you. A small reminder for you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup_d'état#:~:text=A coup d'état (%2F,a government and its powers. A coup d'état (/ˌkuːdeɪˈtɑː/ (listen); French for 'stroke of state'[1]), also known as a coup or an overthrow, is a seizure and removal of a government and its powers.[2][3] Typically, it is an illegal seizure of power by a political faction, politician, cult, rebel group, military, or a dictator.[4][5] Many scholars consider a coup successful when the usurpers seize and hold power for at least seven days.[4] I bolded and underlined the word military. -

The current (caretaker) government is already supporting over 14 million thais (though not the ones who really need the money) and where does that money come from? Every holiday the government picks up half the tab for transport and hotel bills. Where does that money come from? Certainly not from Prayuth and his illegal military coup mates. -
I suspect that he was persuaded to marry Diana even though he loved Camilla. Have you any idea what the divorce rate is in the UK? https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/most-divorces-london-uk-census-data-b1062398.html The divorce rate in the United Kingdom is estimated at 42 per cent, with many believing these rates have increased in recent years. Unreasonable behaviour is the number one reason for divorce in the UK, with adultery being responsible for around 14 per cent of marriage breakups. I very much doubt that Camilla is or ever was a homewrecker and many UK marriages have ended in divorce through adultery, including mine and perhaps many other peoples living here in Thailand. My current Thai wife who I have known for 30 years next month and been married to for 23 years, Did NOT wreck my marriage as I managed that all on my own. You seem to have a particular hatred for Camilla. I wonder why? Is your married life so much "holier" than anybody else's? I have friends in the UK who are still married for the first time and friends who are on their 2nd or 3 wives. Does that make some of them 100% right and the others 100% wrong? Why are you not blaming Anne and Andrew for being divorced, but only Charles and Camilla. As for Harry, have you forgotten his brother William, who also went through the same trauma as Harry. He doesn't seem to have written any books blaming his father or his family for the divorce. He just gets on with his marriage, his job and his life.

It is Charles Coronation and his choice of who should be where. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-65213428 Community representatives set to attend the King's coronation have spoken of their joy at being invited. King Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort, have invited 850 people to the 6 May ceremony in recognition of their charitable contributions. The group includes 450 British Empire Medal recipients and 400 young people from groups chosen by the Royal Family. Julian and Maria Sturdy-Morton, who ran a lockdown food delivery service, said it was "humbling" to be asked. At the beginning of the Covid pandemic, the couple set up a network connecting wholesalers, who were struggling to stay afloat, with households unable to secure a supermarket delivery or get to the shops. Quality food which would otherwise have gone to waste reached 500 households in south west London, including 100 people who could not afford to pay. He has invited people who have actually helped other people and not the freeloading members and whiners in his family. Good for him and Camilla.

I failed the brake test as there were only 2 pedals for an automatic gearbox. It took me several tries to explain to the lady that my Ford Ranger has a 5 speed manual gearbox and 3 pedals. My right foot went to the brake pedal and my left to the clutch pedal which wasn't there, but is in my truck. I was also changing down the gearbox, which also wasn't there.

Heatstroke: What is it, how does it occur, and how to prevent it?
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I stay indoors during the heat of the day with a wall fan blowing on me. I use sachets of Oral Hydration Salts in a powdered form. I pay 5 baht a sachet OTC at the local pharmacy mixed with 750 ml cold water. I am up to 3 or 4 a day now and they seem to work for me. -

My last delivery for 5 x 20 inch, 5 micron water filters was 53 thb. Delivered within 26 hours. Standard delivery rate of 53 thb. Delivered from Bangkok to rural Kamphaeng Phet. AFAIR the shipper sets the delivery price depending on the courier they use. Incredibly good service from Flash Express and the supplier, 108 Water Mart.

Just to save 3 baht a time. I would be lucky to save 60 baht in a year.

Joe Biden administration blames chaotic Afghan pull-out on Trump
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Perhaps many of the aircraft could have been flown out, but the helicopters and drones would need to be transported out by air. Anything wheeled might have been driven out but tracked vehicles would need to be transported. That would have most likely have been from Kabul and all areas through the Khyber Pass, a death trap. into Pakistan and down to Karachi docks, some 1,400 km one way. The aircraft would probably have flown to Karachi airport before being dismantled and shipped back to the USA. The cost would have been enormous and certainly more than the value of the equipment. How many transporters would have been needed to be driven from Karachi to Kabul and return just to bring 1 or 2 tracked vehicles each trip. Not to mention the complicated agreement that would be needed with Pakistan to transit the country. -
