Perhaps the driver had a blackout and he was unaware of his condition. I had one 3 weeks ago and knew nothing about it until I woke up in hospital. I had, and still have, no idea what happened until my wife told me the following day. I simply lost 24 hours. Granted I am 78, but I had no idea that could happen to me. That was also the day I quit driving, just in case.

In Thailand the people get the government that is selected for them by fair means or foul, and every military coup is by foul means.
