Petition To Probe Prayut’s ‘Use Of Govt Property To Gain Popularity’
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is a whole world of difference. A freely elected "democratic" government such as Thaksin, Yingluck and Abhisit CAN be voted out of power as Abhisit's was. OTOH a military coup CANNOT be voted out of power. It simply steals the whole country at the point of a gun and defies anybody to do anything about it. -
Petition To Probe Prayut’s ‘Use Of Govt Property To Gain Popularity’
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I cannot remember any middle generation calling for a military coup let alone carrying out a coup. I do remember the middle generation calling for free and fair elections and getting them under Thaksin, Abhisit and Yingluck. However the military put a stop to Thaksin and Yingluck with yet more military coups. -

Deluded prince claims he's helping the world

Poor diddums. He doesn't even live in the UK, so why would he care what happens to Frogmore Cottage? Also he is not the only ex serviceman from a broken home. Most of them did not always have a home or a job to go back to and quite a few of them are sleeping on the streets in the UK. Sadly, Harry has no idea of reality as he has been looked after and pampered all of his life (broken home/family or not). He was fortunate that during his service career that he was not injured, lost any limbs or been killed in action. IMHO as an ex serviceman of 25 years, he is nothing but a whiner and deserves the wife he is married to. He has a job working with his wife for which he gets paid well, he has an ex military pension, he has the legacy (or what is left of it) from his mother, which is more than most Brits will ever earn in their lifetime. So stop bleating and get on with your life. -

Who killed the British Motor Industry ?
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Led by red Robbo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Robinson_(trade_unionist) Robinson was born in Cradley, then in Worcestershire[3][4] and began work in the motor industry as an apprentice at the Austin Motor Company in Longbridge during the Second World War, training as a tool maker.[1][4] He soon became a member of the Amalgamated Engineering Union (AEU) and joined the Communist Party of Great Britain in 1951.[4] He stood as a Communist candidate in four consecutive general elections in Birmingham, Northfield between 1966 and 1974.[2] British Leyland was the result of a series of mergers between different British motor vehicle manufacturers. By 1975, Robinson was the union convener of the Longbridge plant in Birmingham, having worked his way up from the shop floor to serve as the deputy of the previous convenor, Dick Etheridge, a fellow member of the Communist Party. There is a lot more in the link. -

Putin arrest warrant issued over war crime allegations
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in World News
He already has a way out, if he cares to take it. Just stop the fighting in Ukraine, retreat from ALL the lands Russia has conquered including the Crimea, return all the Ukrainian children to the Ukraine. The problem with that IMHO, is that Putin is riding a tiger, and cannot get off without being eaten. -
I am shaking in my shoes with laughter and not from fear or being scared. Try not to make me laugh for a while as I am eating my lunch. Scared of what? Some nameless, faceless person on ANN? The repudiated contents of Hunter Biden's laptop? Wake up to reality and face it If you have any REAL information, Real proof, Real substantial links, any Real proof of what you say, then post it here on ANN, send it to the courts in the USA, even to the house-oversight-chair-comer, if you think that it will help your caped crusader, Trump. quote from you. "How many thumbs do you have"? Personal insults as well. 55555

Poland to send four fighter jets to Ukraine 'in coming days'

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/map-shows-russias-border-nato-090247369.html Nato already has nations with borders to Russia and has done for many years. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/map-shows-russias-border-nato-090247369.html Sinéad Baker 18 May 2022 weden and Finland have applied to join NATO. Finland has an 830-mile border with Russia, so Russia's border with NATO would more than double. Russia has made repeated threats and said it would have to retaliate if they join. Sweden and Finland applied on Wednesday to join the NATO military alliance, likely frustrating a long-term aim of President Vladimir Putin to roll NATO borders back. If accepted, their presence would instantly more than double the border between NATO countries and Russia, from around 750 miles to around 1,600. At present, NATO has land borders with Russia spanning 754 miles across northern Norway, eastern Latvia and Estonia, and the borders with Poland and Lithuania around Russia's Kaliningrad region. Finland joining would add 830 miles of continuous border along northwestern Russia, taking the total to 1,584 miles. Sweden has no land border with Russia, but is a major presence along the coast of the Baltic Sea. Sigh. Please do some research before spouting rubbish. -

Is there an election coming soon? No 500 baht note, but IMHO just another electoral bribe by the PM. -
My divorce from my UK wife was contested by me on the amount and type of alimony. I was living in Thailand and I had to go back to the UK to sort it out. At the hearing her barrister, (only badly briefed that morning) asked for a 3 month delay as he said that I had not sent the documents through. I had my copy with me and the judge had the court copy which threw the barrister. The judge granted the extension and when I explained that I had no job, no money and was on my last credit card, he explained that I could attend in a phone call. The week before the rehearing I rang the court in the UK, quoting all the details and explaining that nobody had been in touch with me. I was advised to ring the court at the appointed time and explain, which I did. The divorce was granted and the alimony was set at 1 GBP per year. Different countries have different divorce rules, and without knowing which country the friend is from, it is difficult to give good advice.

Actually his marriage extension will only be valid until it is due for renewal. One of the reasons, is that for a marriage extension, the wife has to be present at Immigration at the same time as he applies If she is not there, then there can be no extension. He may also have a problem getting a divorce, if he was married in his home country and not in Thailand.

We bought the pickup to help carry the stuff to build the house back in 2003. At the time the nearest neighbours were at least 500 metres away on either side. Now you cannot slide a cigarette paper in between the properties.
