Thaksin Snubs Possibility Of Pheu Thai-Palang Pracharath Alliance
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why would the PT party bother to have an alliance with a bunch of over the hill and past it dinosaurs? That would mostly lose them votes and seats. -
A lot depends on your definition of Songkran. The Songkran you see and play in tourist areas bears no resemblance to the Songkran practiced outside the tourist areas.

Army Commander Follows up on Beach Management in Phuket
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
What on earth has the army got to do with beach management? -
The cement truck looks as though it will carry 9 cubic metres so the all up weight would be 22.5 tons of concrete, plus the weight of the truck, say another 5 or 6 tons. The problem as I see it, was NOT the people standing in the trucks, but the stupid concrete truck driver, who was most probably driving recklessly and too fast, IMO. That was proved as the truck driver did a runner.

Rubbish. I have been living here in Thailand since 2001 and through the coups of 2006 and 2014 and the military have done NOTHING for the Thai people other than to make the poor poorer, the rich much richer, imprison people for standing up for their rights and stamp out happiness. You are only speaking for yourself as I am. There is NO proper law and order in Thailand under this government and corruption by the RTP and the military has reached unprecedented heights. What has Prayuth done about his promise to clean up corruption in the RTP, the military and the civil service and restore happiness to the Thai people in the last 8 years or so? I have no Idea if you are living in the same Thailand as the rest of us but I suspect not.

Trump’s Favorite Extreme Think Tank Is Jumping Ship for DeSantis
billd766 replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
I hope the company got paid before they went to DeSantis. Trump won't be happy about it. -
I always remember the soi numbers as odd numbers on the outbound side and even numbers on the inbound side. Soi 22 is on the inbound side of Sukhumvit road just past what used to be Washington Square. Not far from Phrom Phong BTS station and past Queens Park and on the corner of the Holiday Inn, Bangkok.

When the farang do gooders take over

But whose god is the real, one and only god? There are hundreds of gods dating back thousands of years, and many are still worshipped nowadays, so what gives the Christians, (in this case) to say that? -

Because people want verifiable facts and you don't seem to have any. You simply say something but rarely back it up. Where do you think Iran gets its money from? https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/iranian-oil-exports-end-2022-high-despite-no-nuclear-deal-2023-01-15/ LONDON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Iranian oil exports hit new highs in the last two months of 2022 and are making a strong start to 2023 despite U.S. sanctions, according to companies that track the flows, on higher shipments to China and Venezuela. Tehran's oil exports have been limited since former U.S. President Donald Trump in 2018 exited a 2015 nuclear accord and reimposed sanctions aimed at curbing oil exports and the associated revenue to Iran's government. https://tradingeconomics.com/iran/oil-exports The information is in the link. https://www.iranintl.com/en/202212160752 There is so much information available on the internet, and here are just 3 verifiable links for you to read about oil sales and a couple more on weapons sales. How about weapon sakes as well. https://tradingeconomics.com/iran/weapons-sales https://www.gisreportsonline.com/r/iran-weapons/

Ex-PM Thaksin vows to return to Thailand post-election, face jail time
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I agree with you that it is the Thai peoples choice, however there will be many Thais who will disagree with that choice, as happened at the last election. The ministry of dirty tricks and the yellow shirts will be up to their usual works, though whether they will succeed this time I don't know. IMO if the winners are tricked as they were last time, perhaps they will not accept it and that is where the problem will come. If they refuse to accept a rigged result, will there be another coup and will it be successful this time? -
My original posting to Singapore was 390MU Seletar, (the factory). I hated it and it took me 9 months to escape to 20 Sqn at Tengah.

And if the majority of the Thai people agree that he should get a pardon/ What happens then? If the rabid royalist yellow shirts try to stoke a civil war, who do you think will win this time?
