Not really. You need Immigration far more than they need you. A one off payment of 500 baht or so, plus something to drink makes your life easier when you need a renewal of your marriage extension. Having said that, when they came to see us 3 years ago, money was not even mentioned, so we didn't make the offer.

I had a blackout last month and (so I was told later) was taken to the nearest local hospital who didn't have the facilities and they sent me to the main state hospital in Kamphaeng Phet. I received excellent treatment from both hospitals. The total charges came to less than 7,000 baht for all the services, doctors fees, meds, saline drips, blood transfusions and 3 nights stay in the hospital. The doctors, most nurses and many of the ancillary staff at both the local and the city hospitals speak English to some degree, and my wife stayed at the hospital while I was there. IMHO the military should be slimmed down by at least 50%, turned into a professional military, and at least 50% of the budget taken away and invested properly in the Health system of Thailand. Dump 80% of ALL the retired senior officers as they are simply a wate of money and space.

I save all the 1, 2, 5 and 10 baht coins, and every so often I count them into 50 or 100 baht stacks, bag them up and my wife takes them to the fresh market where they are always welcome. I do the same with the 25 and 50 satang coins, but they end up back at the 7/11 where the staff are happy to take them.

It is MY life, MY body and MY right to end it I so choose. Long before it gets to that stage I would talk it over with my wife and son and explain to them both why I would take the physician-assisted suicide route. It is quite possible to do it myself, which may put my wife and son at some legal risk. OTOH, if I did that and got it wrong, I could end up in a worse condition and put much more of a load and more stress on my family. They could also assist me and that would put them both in a serious legal position. What politicians don't seem to understand, is that it is NOT their life that they are literally playing with, but another persons life.

Donald Trump says he expects to be arrested on Tuesday

Catchy tune, nice lyrics, but total BS. -
Donald Trump says he expects to be arrested on Tuesday

Well reveal it to us all now, if of course you actually have the "truth". -
Donald Trump says he expects to be arrested on Tuesday
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I like the way that you make so many allegations against President Biden and his family, but NEVER follow it up up with verifiable proof, links etc. If you have the proof of your allegations, then please publish them and send the proof to the US courts. If you cannot prove anything then your post is full of lies and worthless as usual. If YOU allege it, then YOU must be able to prove it, Otherwise withdraw it. -
Could that be because ap until last night, Wednesday 22 March, ne had not been charged with anything? No charges equal no convictions. When he is charged, and if he is convicted, (it cannot come soon enough IMO), then you will be wrong. Until that time you are partly correct. Has President Biden been charged with any crimes, let alone convicted? quote from your post "A bit like with Trump then."

PM Assures Public Safety Following Isotope Recovery
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
But but the PM knows everything about everything. -
I live in rural Kamphaeng Phet. The nearest village with shops is 6 minutes away My son's school is 15 minutes away and the nearest state hospital is opposite the school. The main state hospital is in Kamphaeng Phet city, 65 km and 1 hours drive away. BigC, Makro, Robinsons etc are also in Kamphaeng Phet city. There is NO public transport until you reach the nearest village, and then there is the baht bus to Kamphaeng Phet city, or the National Bus company to Bangkok The amphur offices are 20 minutes away as is the main police station. The problem as I see it is that the idiots who come up with ideas like this line in cities where there is plenty of public transport and they can even work from home. They have no idea what rural living is all about.

I much prefer the Lobo version.

Who defines what is correct? The cook or the diner?
-
When I make it, I seal the meat (normally pork) first in a big wok, then I add coconut milk, water etc and leave it to simmer for a couple of hours. Perhaps the way that I cook it is not the way that the recipe suggests, however the end result for me, is very tasty. My wife, (a Bangkok lady) cooks it differently to me and while it is tasty, I think my way is tastier. Most of the recipes that I use are done the original way and then I modify it to suit my taste. I am now on version 8 of making bread, and I have been baking my own bread for a few years now, and ver 8 bears little resemblance to ver 1. My panang curry is on ver 5 from the original.

Putin: China plan could end war, but Ukraine and West not ready for peace
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in World News
As usual, Putin has things the wrong way around. Putin and Russia started the war, and IMHO it is their responsibility to end the the war on the Ukraines terms. -
And how did anybody know that? Yes they would know that, but ONLY if the patient had gone to the hospital previously and had a full medical checkup. And that if he was carrying a hospital ID card. No full or even partial medical then nobody would know if he had a pre existing medical condition, least of all the patient.

A 100% guarantee if you believe what a Thai politician says is the truth. ????
