I think that the biggest problem with hydrogen today is the storage both on/in the vehicle and bulk storage.

@radiochaser is 100% correct. Once you take over the weapon it is your responsibility. If you didn't load it then check it immediately while pointing it away from people. When I was in the RAF back in the 1960s, when you finished range firing practise, it was a case of magazine off, work the action 3 times, put your thumb into the breech, look for the light on your thumbnail from the barrel, point the weapon at the firing butts and pull the trigger. If you saw no light on your thumbnail, carefully lay the weapon down pointing it downrange, and report the stoppage to the range master. NEVER never never point any weapon at a person unless you are going to shoot them. I think that with a revolver you need to open the chamber, and check that the cylinder is empty before closing the cylinder and pulling the trigger a few times pointing the gun at the ground and minding your toes and feet.

I believe they did and I think it will staying in operation until something better comes along. I sympathise, but it is still a PITA. A little snippet I found on the BBC News website for Australia this morning. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-64248564 t's a new hydrogen-diesel hybrid engine affectionately known as "baby number two" that could help to decarbonise some of Australia's heaviest industries. The test rig is large - it has its own room adjoining a lab and looks at first glance like many other large motors, but beneath its metallic skin could lie game-changing technology. Engineers at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) say they have successfully modified a conventional diesel engine to use a mix of hydrogen and a small amount of diesel, claiming their patented technology has cut carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by more than 85%.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/renewables-are-as-green-as-you-d-expect/ The researchers assumed that solar, wind and hydropower will make up 39 percent of total global power production in 2050, up from 16.5 percent in 2010, requiring 1.5 gigatons of bulk raw materials for construction. There is one of those elastic words again. "assumed" If you are writing an article you cannot make an assumption as broad as that. There are less solar, wind and hydropower projects than there are protestors, as can be seen by the amount of protests that are increasing on a daily/weekly and monthly basis. Every days delay on every project with both legal, through the courts, and illegal actions by the tree huggers (I am using the term generically) adds to the costs and time taken for the projects. It must be done as the tit

But at what cost to manufacture, to use, to recycle and the cost of replacement?
-
But how much does it cost to mine all the rare earths to make the batteries in the first place? In addition how are these batteries recycled and how much can be reused? Have the batteries been developed yet for agricultural and commercial use? Whilst it is nice to have electric vehicles the working life of the battery needs to be improved. Then you get to the vicious circle where you need to generate more electricity for charging stations and recycling plants.

And when more renewable sources come on line the lignite power stations will be taken offline, shutdown and the lignite mines will be closed.

All of them, and if possible the owner as well. If the owner cannot be put down, then bankrupt him and give all the proceeds to the victim. -
The Phra Somdej amulet, IF it is genuine, As of 2013, a Phra Somdej Chitralada is worth at least two million baht. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_Buddha_amulet Phra Somdej Chitralada are the amulets made by King Bhumibol himself and awarded from 1965 to 1970 to selected soldiers, policemen, government officers, and citizens.[9] No more than 3,000 of these amulets were made. Each amulet is accompanied with certificate stating the name of the recipient, date, and amulet number. It is quite a rare amulet and the value given is nearly 10 years old. The value of such an amulet does not of course reflect the price paid for it, which is how much the buyer is prepared to pay, and if it is accompanied with certificate stating the name of the recipient, date, and amulet number.

quote " At 16 she sailed from Europe to New York in a zero carbon emitting sailboat". Well done for her. And can you tell me how the sailboat was made? It wasn't free to build and was most certainly not carbon free to build. The tools used to build it were not made carbon free. If it was made of timber, the trees had to be cut down and transported to the shipyard and built there. If it was made of fibreglass, the fibreglass has to be made on site. If the sails were made from nylon, nylon is a byproduct of crude oil. https://goodonyou.eco/material-guide-nylon/ Essentially, nylon is a type of plastic derived from crude oil. This plastic is then put through an intensive chemical process, resulting in the strong, stretchy fibres that make it so useful as a fabric. This is what I mean about hypocrisy.

Using any form of transport other than walking consumes energy produced somewhere by some form of fuel. If we assume that she walked, then she must have eaten food on the way, slept overnights along the way in places that were warm and had laundry facilities, used and flushed toilets both public and private, all of which consume power from one source or another. It is a reasonable assumption to make that the clothes she wears were made by somebody in a factory which consumes power from somewhere. OTOH is she was transported there by someone elses form of transport, energy from some source was used, but not at her expense. I have no objection to the world using renewable energy but it will come at a cost, because nothing is free. The village she is protesting at belongs to the mine and has been abandoned anyway. AFAIK the reason that tne mine is being reopened is because the gas supply which came from Russia is no longer available, and Germany needs to generate electricity for its people, its transport and its businesses. Lignite is the dirtiest coal to use to generate electricity but needs must when the devil drives. To me those protestors are just hypocrites, and very expensive to remove. If they were smart enough they would be working hard to reduce the costs of renewable energy sources and then the lignite mines could be closed for ever.

IMHO neither of them are worthy of leading the country. However they are probably in the best position to block anybody else from leading the country. -

That works for me too. I live in my wife's house on her land and I will continue to do so until I die. Hopefully that will be before she dies and then she will get a percentage of my pensions until she dies. I am 78 and she is 57 and we will have been married for 23 years in April. -
Classified documents from Biden’s time as VP discovered in private office
billd766 replied to Scott's topic in World News
Having found who had access on Biden's staff and why the documents were not logged out and in again, the next step should be to find out who didn't do the job properly at the Records office and plug that loophole. -
Paetongtarn Shinawatra says she is ready to be Pheu Thai’s PM candidate
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Do you really believe that the Thai people removed the Thaksin Shinawatra government in 2006? A small history lesson for you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaksin_Shinawatra#September_2006_coup On the evening of 19 September 2006, while Thaksin was visiting New York City to attend a UN summit and speak at the Council on Foreign Relations, the army took control of Bangkok. At Government House, some 50 soldiers ordered approximately 220 policemen in the complex to lay down their weapons. Troops also surrounded the Thaicom satellite receiving station and state-run television station Channel 11. By the morning of 20 September, tanks and military vehicles armed with machine guns were stationed at Government House, the Royal Plaza, and Ratchadamnoen Avenue.[161] Troops participating in the coup were from the 1st and 3rd Army Regions, the Internal Security Operations Command, the Special Warfare Centre, army units from Nakhon Ratchasima and Prachinburi, and navy sailors.[162] According to coup leader Army General Sonthi Boonyaratglin, coup leaders had arrested Deputy Prime Minister Chitchai Wannasathit and Defense Minister Thammarak Isaragura na Ayuthaya Another small history lesson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yingluck_Shinawatra#2013/14_Opposition_protests,_supreme_court_impeachment_and_coup On 9 December 2013, Yingluck dissolved the country's parliament and called early elections in the face of anti-government protests.[69] On 7 May 2014, the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed Yingluck from office in consequence of her removing an appointee of an earlier government, Thawil Pliensri, from his post as National Security Council secretary-general in 2011. The court deemed the transfer unconstitutional and therefore, removed Yingluck from office.[70] A few weeks after Yingluck was impeached, the military coup of 2014 occurred. Please take notice of the last word in each link. -

I don't think That President Biden put them there himself, and I am certain that Trump did not, nor did any of his people. Until the documents are checked by the records office I don't think that anyone knows what they contain. When that is known, then there will be an approximate date after which it may be able, together with the contents to get a group of staffers names, including President Biden, who would have been in the position to have dealt with them. -
One Dead In Restaurant Shooting Involving Drunk Cops
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
I have done many different shift work hours 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm, 10pm to 6am. 12 hours on and 12 hours off. 12 hours on and finish when you can. 24 hours on and 24 hours off. Without knowing what shift hours were worked it is a wasted comment. My mate had a big argument in a hotel because he wanted steak egg and chips and a bottle of red wine at 10:30am as it was his dinner time. The restaurant was just finishing the breakfast serving. He got it through room service. -
