It doesn't matter to Thailand what happens in the roman catholic church in the rest of the world as Thailand cannot change that fact, nor can the rest of the world change what what happens in Buddhist Thailand. That would be the subject for a new thread.

I am also a Brit and I contact my pension providers 3 to 44 months in advance to get a copy of my pension details. Sometimes the IO will look at them and sometimes not. I am also using the income method for my marriage extension. I get my pensions transferred directly to my UK Wise account. I then send them to my BBL account in Thailand using the funds for living in Thailand. That takes a little longer, around 24hrs, unless it is a weekend or bank holiday in Thailand. It show as a FTT or foreign transfer in my bankbook and on my statements. You didn't mention which IO office you do the extension. Most are the same but some IO may ask for more information. I use a small office in Kamphaeng Phet who are farang friendly and very helpful. I have attached 2 PDF files, one in English and 1 in Thai with their requirements (they would like the docs in their order) and it worked for me a couple of months ago. The two best people on this Visa forum to go to are UbonJoe or LopBuri3. They DO know their stuff, and are more than willing to help anybody, without being critical or snotty about it. Last year I saw it in my younger neighbour and her 16 year daughter, my elder neighbour's 12 year old granddaughter and in my 17 year old son. Having said that my elder neighbour, my wife and I never caught it. This year my 17 year old son had a Monday off school whilst it was being disinfected after 5 of his classmates caught it. Please stop what? Responding to your posts? Posting that the majority or IOs are good, and do a good job? So my experience with many IO is meaningless compared to one IO. Then make a formal complaint to the head of the IO. Well over 90% of the IOs are good They are trying to stem corruption and what better way than using that person as an example. By ignoring or tolerating that IO simply leaves them to carry on doing what they have done for years.

I cannot think of any expat that I know who would wander around with 20,000 quid in his pocket. It seems that he was not robbed and if, according to your ridiculous theory the money was at his home it would be easier to follow him home, kill them both and then steal the money. It will be interesting to see the Thailand Covid statistics in 3 months time, and compare the number of western tourists who have been hospitalsed compared to the number of Chinese tourists. No I would not have ended up needing a 60 day extension. It is called forward planning. I knew that when I had finished the job in New Zealand during May of 2009, that I would need a retirement visa extension. I used the Thai Visa files to find out what I needed to do, how, where and what documents were needed, then went ahead and did it. I would probably have stayed silent and let my wife deal with it. Fortunately in my 20 odd year dealings with Immigration Officers I have had no real problems, not in Suan Phlu, Mae Sot, Nakhon Sawan nor KaMphaeng Phet. Perhaps I have a different attitude to different people, perhaps it is something else, I have no idea. The OP seems unhappy because of obtaining his Non "O" in another province, and he had a problem in a different province. I actually obtained my Non IMM "O" visa in New Zealand where I was working in 2009 and was on a retirement extension for a few years in Thailand before I changed to a marriage extension about 3 years ago. At the time of my application for a Non "O" visa, I was working in New Zealand, my home was in Thailand with my Thai wife and son, and I had and still have a UK passport.

I am getting a bit confused here. In the OP you are claiming that you want a Non Imm O based on marriage and that you went with a Thai person the first time. Was that Thai person in fact your wife, or somebody else? I have a perfectly valid marriage visa extension based on income and I had no problem getting it, and NO extra money was paid either over or under the table. Granted that it was under a different IO and region, in Kamphaeng Phet and under region 5 and Chiang Mai. If, as you say you have been in Thailand for over half your adult life, then you should be aware of the rules, and be prepared to work around or with them. There is plenty of free advice here on ANN and plenty of knowledgeable who are willing to help you.

You don't need to do anything other that provide your bank details. The sender should transfer the funds through THEIR Wise account in Thai baht to your nominated account. If this becomes a regular occurance, them you might think about opening a Wise account in your own name. But for a one off payment it is their problem.

Whilst I agree with you, you have to look at who was running Brexit negotiators. It was Teresa May who was the PM at that time and she was pro EU and who had every reason to want Brexit to fail. The negotiators had to keep to the script prepared for them. IMHO she did the best she could to achieve that and was kicked out for her efforts. I am a little confused. Boardwalk City is a non-fiction book about Atlantic City in the 1920s written by Nelson C. Johnson (born 1948) who wasn't even born until 20 to 25 years after the events. It was then re-written as a TV series by a number of different writers as an American period crime drama television series some 80 or 90 years after the events. I finally found a reference to Joseph P Kennedy, played by Matt Letscher here https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0979432/fullcredits along with all the writers, and there are a lot of them. It seems to be Genre Crime drama Period drama Serial drama And loosely based on real life happenings 90 years ago. As I have never even heard of the series until now and have never seen an episode I can't pass comment on what the character spoke about or was all about. However I will take it with a sack full of salt and say that if you believe it then good for you. Personally I don't without any proof.
