Biden could stop it tomorrow if he wanted to. If he doesn't send any more bombs they can't bomb Gaza and kill children, and if he stops sending bullets they will have to withdraw from Gaza to conserve what they have for all the other conflicts they have, like on the northern border.
Biden CHOOSES to continue to supply the means for israel to continue the slaughter of innocents in Gaza. He will be remembered in history, not for any good he did, but for the thousands of children who's deaths he facilitated. Not a good memory.
Iran will never agree as long as the illegal occupation of Palestinian land continues. IMO it's their greatest recruiting tool for attacks on American assets.
I am not so sure that if the USA halted all arms shipments to Israel, that it would make that much difference, certainly in the short term.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_industry_of_Israel
The defense industry of Israel is a strategically important sector and a large employer, as well as a major supplier of the Israel Defense Forces. The country is one of the world's major exporters of military equipment, accounting for 10% of the world total in 2007. Three Israeli companies were listed on the 2017 Stockholm International Peace Research Institute index of the world's top 100 arms-producing and military service companies: Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries and RAFAEL.[1][2] It is also a major player in the global arms market and is the 6th largest arms exporter in the world as of 2014.[3] Total arms transfer agreements topped $12.9 billion between 2004 and 2011.[4] There are over 150 active defense companies based in the country with combined revenues of more than $3.5 billion annually.[5] Israeli defense equipment exports reached $7 billion in 2012, making it a 20 percent increase from the amount of defense-related exports in 2011. With the war in Ukraine, arms exports reached $12.5 billion in 2022.[6] Much of the exports are sold to the United States and Europe. Other major regions that purchase Israeli defense equipment include Southeast Asia and Latin America.[7][8][9] India is also major country for Israeli arms exports and has remained Israel's largest arms market in the world.[10][11]
What may or will make a big difference, is how many defence workers have been called up and either injured or wounded in the current conflict.
It may be however that those workers, both male and female may be exempt from military service as essential personnel. That is something I have no knowledge about.
It also maybe that in the short term Israel could temporarily halt arms exports and divert those exports for its own use.
It is of little use for the UN and governments worldwide to keep talking and wringing their hands. IMHO it is long past the time for talking and time for the world to actually DO something to stop BOTH sides from continuing this senseless, pointless slaughter of the innocent people on BOTH sides.
Neither Netanyahu nor who is running Hamas this week, ( As of November 2023, Yahya Sinwar continues to be the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Hamas control of the northern part of the Gaza Strip came to an end in January 2024, according to Israeli government statements), seem to have any interest in stopping this. Hamas have attempted to do something with the ceasefire plan that Qatar and Egypt have come up with, although they want to modify it.
Netanyahu and Israel have rejected the plan outright.
Where does the world go from here I wonder?
My thought is to take Netanyahu and Yahya Sinwar into a room and bang their heads together to knock some sense into them, until they come to a peace plan.

IMO he's going to reject anything put forward, as IMO he knows it means the end of his coalition government, the end of his premiership and very possibly jail. Jehova could extend a finger pointing at him from above and shout "take the deal" and he'd reject it.
The elephant in the room is Biden, as he is looking decidedly unpopular at home with an election coming up, and will he decide to do the right thing and stop the conflict? He's been making the right noises, but still sending lots and lots of bombs, so I guess it depends........... on a lot of things.
Unless Biden makes it happen, it probably won't.
The main problem is that President Biden can't MAKE it happen.
Netanyahu IS the problem as he will reject ANY deal that involves Hamas.
He personally is probably the main and possibly the only problem to a settlement and an end to the slaughter and destruction on both sides.
If both he and the Hamas leader were no longer in the picture and moderate persons were in control on both sides, it would be so much easier and safer.
One possible way might be for the US and probably Iran to stop funneling weapons and money to each side, and for each of them to say to both Hamas and Israel, enough is enough.
If there are ANY more attacks from either side, retribution will be swift and painful.
I don't think that is possible though.

My next 90 day report is due on 25th February.
As my Immigration off ice is 70 away I though that I would give the "new" 90 day online a road test.
It took me about 10 minutes to register on 02 February, some 23 days early, so I thought that having registered I would actually apply on Tuesday 13 February.
However in my email inbox this morning was a new extension dated valid to 25 May 2024.
Done and completed in 5 days or 3 working days.
I am impressed.
It has saved me or my wife, a 140km and a 2 and a bit hour, round trip.

Oh dear.
Those VVVIP "concerned netizens" have found something else to whine about now.
Don't they EVER give whining a rest now and again?
If that is a photo of the lady she looks very attractive. It also seems from the text that she was a participant in beauty contests before she joined the police.

Just because the Education ministry has removed the post from their website, does not mean that it has been deleted forever.
I have no doubt that a few "concerned netizens" will have downloaded it.

We are grand parents, my wife and I, she idolises the ground she walks on, everyday she needs to hear what she's been doing and where she's been, when she's feeling down my wife just looks through the video's we have. I hope that grand mother gets arrested also.
Arresting the grandmother for what?
Even WITH video evidence against the abbot the police seem to have done nothing.
Without the video evidence, who would take the word of the grandmother over that of the "revered" abbot?

200,000 baht, indeed.
According to the article, the Brit's part of the Israeli's settlement was over 3 million baht to make him go away. No telling what the popo got out of the deal, but I suspect it was more than 3 million.
BTW, I'd check the veracity of the Israeli's ID. With a name like "Alias", I wonder if he just got an ID off the shelf and didn't pay extra to give himself a real name.
It may have been a translation error, and perhaps the Israeli's name was Elias and not Alias.

Changing residence for a bank account to Thailand is tricky.
They may do as Barclays did in the UK: accept it for a while, then all of a sudden kick you out.
A friend had this experience with 2 German banks. He even asked before changing residence whether there would be a problem. They said no, but changed their mind after 2 or 3 years.
Not only does your friends bank have its rules, but the country central banks have their rules as well and the country can change its banking rules at any time.
If something is OK now, who can forecast what will happen 2 or 3 years into the future.

Monsters using religion as an excuse to get close to people and for protection
So, nothing to do with Thailand at all. I am sure that I could find lots of cases similar to this worldwide, but this thread is specifically about a 7 year old girl in Thailand, and not about the rest of the world.
If I could be bothered to search I have no doubt that I could find lots of links about religious and non-religious persons doing a lot of good works with children world wide, Running orphanages, charities etc but it would not be specific to Thailand.
I could also find examples of non-religious persons interfering with children, teachers among them, worldwide, but that too would be meaningless too.

There are many Christian people here also doing bad things pretending they are rescuing kids, pretending to rescue girls in bars but taking them to hotels. Bad actors everywhere. The exodus road, a21 and operation underground railroad, they are all lying for donations. search "the exodus road truth" for more info.
What has that got to do with a 7 year old Thai girl allegedly raped by an abbot?

The differences in your reading from hospital are way too different. I would be questioning that too.
I trusted my own more than the hospital reading.
That day my home readings were 128/72/79 compared to their 99/48/71 or 131/63/73.

I just made some cheese and streaky bacon scones this morning in my air fryer (on its last legs I think)
I over cooked them and I think that the baking powder is well beyond its best before date, as they didn't rise.
I only use baking powder mixed with plain flour because I can't find self raising flour.

Yeah, even when I'm about to take a reading at home, I usually worry a bit that the result may be high. As a result, it may cause a rise in pressure. Hence the need for a calming technique. Thanks.
The problem that I have is that I am not certain about the accuracy of my BP tester.
However I am the only one that uses it. They have many BP testers of different types at the hospital that are used by so many people every day.
I tend not to believe their readings over mine though.
One reading at the hospital last week gave me a reading of 99/48/71. The next reading, straight after was 131/63/73.

Yes, its low, but low blood pressure won't hurt you. Worst symptom is when you stand up too quickly your head spins. 😵💫
Or you end up in hospital for several days and nights after blacking out.
That happened to me twice last year and there were NO warning symptoms.

Who owns the electricity generating plants in California?
Do they belong to the national government or the State of California?
Who sets the tariffs, the national government or the State of California?
Have a look at this link and come back with a sensible answer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_in_California
Especially this part
Regulatory policy
The California Energy Commission is the primary energy policy and planning agency. As of 2017, California is a deregulated electricity market.[63] It has a number of electric load-serving entities, including as of 2015 six investor-owned utilities (IOU), 46 publicly owned utilities, 4 electric cooperatives, 3 community choice aggregators, and 22 electric service providers.[63] Major investor-owned utilities, regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission, include Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas & Electric, and San Diego Gas & Electric.[64] The remaining 3 IOUs are Pacificorp, Bear Valley Electric, and Liberty Utilities.[65]
The way that I understand it, is that California sets its own electricity costs without reference to the national government or President Biden.
If the residents of California are shocked at the high electricity prices, they should take it up with the State government, as the State are the ones who set the prices.
They could of course turn the thermostats to a higher setting and use less electricity but that may not be permitted under the constitution or any of the amendments.
Sarcasm mode off.

Savannakhet 1 year NON O multy entry/marriage
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

I do my marriage extension myself using the monthly income method.
The Immigration office that I use is in Kamphaeng Phet and is not only user friendly but farang friendly and very helpful. There are no "hidden" or unexpected charges and to my knowledge no agents seem to be available there either, I have been using that branch for more than 12 years now.
When I did my extension last year in October they politely reminded me that it was only valid until July as I needed a new passport before then.
Not ALL immigration offices are the same.
