Will Kamala Denounce the Pro Terrorist Demonstrators
billd766 replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
Since Fox News is not actually a news channel anyway, your 2 links are only opinions from the Fox channel and biased ones at that and worth as much as anybody else's opinion. -

What a shame that you cannot answer a question that is asked, other than by poorly attempting diversion and believing in unproven allegations. -
PPP scandal: Prawit defends reporter assault as a joke (video)
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Simply another self entitled dinosaur general long past his 'scrap by this date' target. Yet still living rent free, in an army house that some other useless general could use. -
I have several old laptops, printers, keyboards and stuff like that, and I would be happy if I could get rid of them. However I live in rural Thailand and I would prefer that they go to the local trash guys. My problem is that they collect the trash around 05:00 dark which is a bit to early for me to get down the drive to make sure that only they get the stuff. There are a very few people who leave donations of their own trash in our bins instead of taking it home to their own bins, and I wouldn't want my electronic trash to be taken by them.

Anything that shows Trump down, he denies it, and says it doesn't matter. If it is good news for Trump, he is on it in a flash and shouting it out as loud as he can.

Absolutely incorrect about knowing me or the fact that I spent 25 years in the RAF service. You don't know me at all. We have never met and neither are we likely to. Firstly the plan was negotiated by Trump without the knowledge or consent of the Afghan government. Secondly the logistics of removing large land based equipment, such as tanks and armoured vehicles from somewhere such as Afghanistan through another nations territory (in this case Pakistan) around 1,000 km to a port (also in Pakistan) involves a large amount of planning including security for the equipment and crews, rations, water, fuel etc. What was sent to Afghanistan went during a 20 year time period and cannot be removed overnight. Their also needs to be ships waiting at the port to load the equipment onto. How much equipment remained was determined by what was to be donated to the Afghan military, what was to be to be sent back to the USA and what was to be scrapped locally. Helicopters and short range aircraft could have been flown out, via Pakistan also but only with permission from the Pakistan government, which as far as I know was never consulted. If you had any idea you would have know that that it never was a simple thing, When the Russians left Afghanistan, and indeed when the British left decades before, they were having to fight their way out with countless deaths. Trump simply believed the Taliban, ignored his own military advisors and abandoned Afghanistan and its people, leaving them behind, including many Afghans who had helped and worked with the US for many years. What a sad defender who supports Trump who is a poor imitation of a man you are. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020–2021_U.S._troop_withdrawal_from_Afghanistan#:~:text=The United States Armed Forces,of the 2001–2021 war.

Elon Musk Extends Invitation to Kamala Harris For Interview
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Really smart people simply ignore personal insults and nit picking and treat it with the contempt that it deserves. -
But President Biden was NOT involved in ANY negotiations with the Taliban or in ANY negotiations re the US withdraw from Afghanistan, That was all down to ex president Trump, who when he lost the election (NO, the election was not stolen from him) dumped the whole problem in President Biden's lap, and scuttled away like the coward that he is. The sole responsibility for that fiasco belongs to Trump and nobody else, That is a prime example of Trump's version of how to end a war.

Paetongtarn Shinawatra to be Nominated as Thailand's New PM

A military coup is not constitutional either and there have been too many of them in the past. Neither is tearing up and rewriting the constitution and rewriting a new one in your favour, constitutional either , but it happens. -
Paetongtarn Shinawatra to be Nominated as Thailand's New PM
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why would anybody vote for a 76 year old man to be a PM in the first place? Also I would advise Paethontarn to invest in as man stab of bullet proof vests as she can, especially after reading this. The press conference announcing her nomination was attended by government coalition leaders who expressed their support, making her political future appear assured. "We are confident that we will work together to help the country move past its economic problems and advance into the future. I would also advise her to keep away from any buses, just in case she gets thrown under one. -

I use an app on my pc called Calibre and that converts any format that you have to a format that you chose. That is the easy part. I think that the hard part will be getting the files to load into your Kindle device. I used to read my books an a tablet which had unrestricted use of any Ebook reading program and I used FBreader Pro which while it was not free was very cheap. Sadly my tablet died but I can still read Ebooks on my pc with calibre.

I am a little confused Mike. What is TPB? I have a collection of about 1.6TB of Ebooks on my hard drive and I am slowly whittling them down to only a .mobi format. As of 31 December 2023 I have at least 6.406 authors with the number of books varying from 1 book to over 40 books per author. Some authors I like and some I don't like. Some subjects like fiction and fantasy I like and others such as horror and sci-fi I don't like, However they are all jumbled up usually under author names but the latest 900 odd I am sorting are under book titles, mostly with the authors names, so I need to check each author to see if I have that author, then the book name. If I have them both I simply delete the book. I can manage about 50 books a day before my eyes get tired and my brain begins to scramble.

SRT Warns Passengers After Dangerous Incident (short)
billd766 replied to Video News's topic in Video News and Updates
The SRT can make as many rules and give out as many warnings as they want. However as usual, the stupid people out there will simply ignore all the "silly rules" and carry on as normal. There is still no medical cure for the condition known as stupid. -
Marriage Visa - Proof of Income
billd766 replied to Aussie999's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No it isn't. I got my Non O visa from NZ back in 2009 and i have been using the Embassy letter until 2018 when the UK embassy stopped issuing the letter from 1st January 2019. I have been using Wise to transfer my pensions to my Bangkok Bank account since 2018. On both my BKK bank statements and in the bankbook it clearly shows that my pension income is an international transfer and the Immigration office at Kamphaeng Phet accept that. I could of course send it directly to the joint account at Kasikorn Bank, but that would mean that I would. A) Have to open an account in my name only, B) Request an invoice from KBank head off for each transfer. I can't be bothered, as the system works simply and easily as it is, and as an ex engineer of many years, I was taught that if it works, don't screw about with it.
