  1. 55555 Did you not know that I was also issued with a Lee Enfield .303 rifle and later an SLR 7.62 mm SLR automatic rifle. I can't be bothered to answer any more of your silly questions, when innocent men women and children are being murdered and genocide is carried out in Gaza on a daily basis. Come back with a decent post and I may answer, or not.
  2. Nice try once again but just as untrue as the last time you said it. Now if I said that it is a good idea to kill ALL the Palestinians in Gaza, would that make me a pro semite in your eyes? That will NEVER happen. As far as I am concerned, both Hamas and the Israeli government/IDF are the evil twins of each other. That is NOT the same as ALL the Israeli people or ALL the Palestinian people. If you cannot understand that there is no hope for you.
  3. Nice twist to my words. NO, I did NOT join the military to kill women and children. If I had been ordered to whilst I was still in the military, I hope I would have the courage to refuse that order. That is the same answer that I gave when I replied to your hypothetical question that you asked earlier. From what I remember from my 25 years in the military, I don't believe that any officer or SNCO would have issued that order anyway.
  4. That IS the answer to your question. Do you really think that the IDF would admit to it as the truth? I have no idea why you are asking that question of me or anyone else on AN who get their information from the same sources that you do. Which of course is the internet. I doubt if anyone on AN has actually been to Gaza since October. I doubt if the Israeli government or the IDF, would even allow them entry to the occupied country and especially to the areas that the IDF are fighting over. Do you? You asked a question and I answered it as best I could and honestly. If you don't like my answer, that is not my problem.
  5. Thank you for that video.
  6. Ask the relatives and/or the survivors of the 30,xxx Palestinian dead, and 70,xxx injured and the countless bodies buried in the rubble of their houses and apartment blocks. if you can find any survivors. Don't believe anything that comes from the Israeli government or the IDF. Watch this video posted by Jeff the Chef and ponder on it. https://www.aljazeera.com/program/the-bottom-line/2024/4/11/does-israel-twist-humanitarian-law-to-justify-gaza-carnage
  7. IF it were me I would like to have an idea who did it, and IF I were a Palestinian citizen, I would attempt to kill as many Israeli's as I could. OTOH IF I were an Israeli citizen, I would probably feel the same way. However IF I were an IDF soldier and was ordered to kill Palestinian women and children I would hope that I could refuse that illegal order, even though I would end up in the glasshouse, because the order IS illegal, no matter what Netanyahu and his war cabinet say.
  8. It might be reasonable to assume that there are so many, (self professed experts), in almost every subject that can be found on Google, here on AN.
  9. I never had a problem like that in all the years I worked here with a driver. My wife usually fills the car and gives me the receipt. She is also the one who draws the money from the bank, brings it home and gives it to me. Perhaps she is different to other Thais.
  10. And how many innocent Palestinian men women and children has the IDF and Israel executed both before and after October 7th, (including 4 children in the last few hours) which has been said many times, did NOT happen in a vacuum.
  11. I will have to try that, but after Songkran will be easier after everybody has gone home.
  12. Thank you for that recipe, though I would probably swap out the chicken livers for pork liver.
  13. That sounds great. Do you have a recipe for that that you could post?
  14. I just drink cold water from the fridge with Blue Boy Sala (a red syrupy stuff) to give it some colour and taste. I drink about 3 or 4 litres of that every 24 hours.
  15. For some odd reason, today it has been cloudy and we had a couple of 5 minute showers this morning. The temperature the afternoon was only 30.1C compared to yesterdays 39C.
  16. It was similar to this when I came here in 1994, but there was much more water and less people then.
  17. That is true enough. Unfortunate my records crashed along with my pc back in 2016 so all the syuff I had before was lost. I used to have the url for Most of the dams but that disappeared a while ago as well. But that is all about the old Songkran which is the one I was talking about. The current all singing, all dancing, water splashing, water wasting is all about making money and has nothing to do with the old traditions at all. In many rural areas the old traditions are kept alive but sadly, are slowly dying out, and the modern Songkran is really about making money and nothing else.
  18. Good advice.
  19. It must have been before 1994 when I came here to work, so more than 30 years ago.
  20. How about listening to some common sense for a change? BTW do you know what Songkran is really all about. One clue is that it is NOT about water splashing.
  21. I have done a search for water levels in the large dams in Central and Northern Thailand and I came across this item. https://water.rid.go.th/flood/flood/weekreportnew_e.pdf Page 6 of 10 gives some interesting information, and this is before Songkran and the expected rains.
  22. This morning here in rural Kamphaeng Phet we had a couple of 10 minute rain showers, enough to wet the concrete and leave a couple of small puddles. The first rain since 22nd March when we had 0.2mm rain. So far this year in the village we have had 19mm of rain since 1st January 2024. We are luckier than a lot of rural villages who have had less rain than us this year. And still this stupid government is going ahead with wasting billions of litres of water, again this year, on their poncy version of Songkran. Next month, they will be bleating about the drought.
  23. Robinsons in KPP is a great example of a mall where access, is good and flat on all floors, though I have no idea where the lifts are. Outside I use a walking stick and I can manage maybe 50 metres before I need to stop. In the big village near where I live, there is only 1 shop I have a problem with and that is because it has a ramp and not steps. I can get up the ramp and back down very slowly. I used to hold my wife's shoulder for balance. What I do find in Thailand, especially in rural areas is that Thais will always help me if I need it. open doors etc, load stuff into the truck. Even the car park and the security guys will find a parking slot and help me.
  24. At the moment I only do outside jobs until about 11 am. Now I am on my pc with 2 wall fans going flat out. Inside the house it is 33.8 and in the shade outside it is 37,6 with a predicted 41C forecasted. I drink around 4 litres of cold but not iced water a day mixed with Blue Boy Sala to give it some flavour, up about 1 litre a day from 2 weeks ago. I even rum my bedroom a/c for an hour during my afternoon siesta and all night now. It must be really hot, as my wife sleeps with the a/c on at night and is waiting for her brother to come and fix the downstairs a/c so that shee can have a cool afternoon siesta as well.
