  1. You talking about the politically inspired cases that have not resulted in a prison sentence?
  2. Clutching straws comes to mind. I'll think of you when he wins in November.
  3. I'd prefer nil, but I said that to you before and you are ignoring that. Do you think if you say the same thing over and over it will change my mind?
  4. Considering that Trump has been living in the media spotlight for decades, I find it hard to believe there is anything we don't know about when it comes to anything to do with him. If there was anything really bad it would have been all over the media. Next.
  5. I'm somewhat puzzled. We knew it was coming some days ago and it was going to be big, yet your colleague made no attempt to go and stock up prior to the storm? There is no storm or impending disaster here, yet I have enough food and water stored to last a month, just in case. I feel an "I told you so" moment coming on. An EV is going to be as much use as a wet newspaper to hold off a burglar.
  6. I don't need to know any more about Trump than he is in with a 50-50 chance or returning to the W H next year. Does that scare you? He's a convicted criminal and a sex fiend for Pete's sake. You seem to be a bit naive about things sexual if you think Trump is a sex fiend. He's no more a sex fiend than the hundreds of thousands of farangs that flock to Thailand every year. If he was really a convicted criminal other than in your imagination, he'd be in jail.
  7. Is there something in the water in district of Columbia? Seems that they really are different in the US. In NZ if someone is of the alphabet soup variety they generally keep it very quiet, and as for parades, perhaps in Auckland but locally, not a chance. Anyway, it's a non political issue so no mention of it in elections, that I heard. That's not to say there are none, far from it, but they don't thrust it in everyone's face.
  8. I lived in a village where I was the only farang, 2 hours by bus from the closest town, and I didn't see any bad side to the locals, other than they used to gather under the house to gossip about the "farang".
  9. There is no shortage of derogatory names for men and women whether hookers, whores or just sluts to fill a small dictionary. Even non sex workers have a vast number of insulting names they can be called by people that don't like them.
  10. I could say that about Harris. Let's face it, something is rotten in US politics that either could be POTUS next January. However, when Biden's handlers were able to fool the public that Biden was actually in charge for 3 1/2 years nothing surprises me about the disaster zone of US politics.
  11. Are there really that many of them? I find it hard to believe that there really are many of them out there, though they make enough noise to think there are more of them than the reality.
  12. What scares me is that some posters on here that I think are normally well balanced intelligent people lose their mind when it comes to Trump, and actually think Harris is a better option. I'd prefer someone less controversial than Trump, but the idea of Harris as POTUS terrifies me. Harris is a closed book, and there is no knowing what creepy things she's hiding from public view. Trump, on the other hand is too open, to his own detriment. Perhaps you should be asking why 70 odd million Americans prefer him to her, instead of getting tied up in his imperfections.
  13. and millions and millions of supporters will vote for Trump.
  14. IMO there is little difference in party policies now and the bickering is a way of pretending that they are governing while not achieving any change for the betterment of the electorate. It's a look over here thing to deflect voter's attention from the lack of any real progress.
  15. They won't get power though as all the other parties have said they will not join a coalition with them. So much for the will of the majority. Democracy died already.
  16. IMO Thais have less bad sides.
  17. The reason the Australian Aboriginals survived undiluted by immigrants for 50,000 years is that they crossed on a land bridge that vanished leaving them isolated till they were unfortunate enough to be discovered by Euros.
  18. Agree, but they were there long before the Mayflower was a seedling.
  19. I wasn't actually referencing the song- just a general comment about Nelson.
  20. Can't say I ever compared Thailand with the Shire, but I know what you mean. Living there is a question of being able to accept the people as they are, not as some on here want them to be.
  21. I think you mean the first wave of illegal immigrants. The Native Americans were the original population.
  22. Nice. Pity I never want to visit the US. I had the opportunity to work in the US or in Saudi, but I chose Saudi as it paid better. Perhaps I made the wrong choice, but that option has long gone. I worked in Saudi with a few American nurses, and one was spectacularly obese. There was one good looking one but she only went to marry a Saudi royal. She was literally a gold digger judging by the amount of gold she was given. I only have news and movies to go on and the above are in short supply, except on movies, where only the best looking get to act.
