Outrage over Abbas's antisemitic speech on Jews and Holocaust
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I guess I just can't win. According to some on this forum I'm an ultra rightwing nut because I support a certain ex POTUS, and according to you I must be a leftist because I don't support Israel and condemn them for stealing Palestinian land in the illegally occupied areas of Palestine. -

I had AZ so no idea why it would get bad press. Didn't cause any problems that I'm aware of. -
Evidence of DNA Contamination in Pfizer Vaccine

Everyone dies sooner or later, so IMO it's not really a problem if old people with underlying diseases die with covid. The problem would be if young people without any underlying disease die or have chronic health problems post vaccination. -

Given the Chinese are not being open on the subject, I doubt the truth will ever come out. -

I'm so very happy I refused to be given mRNA stuff, and waited till the old style vaccine was available. No problems with that, but I know a guy that thought he was going to die after getting second dose of Pfizer. -
EVs Might Not Cost A Butt Load Soon
thaibeachlovers replied to placeholder's topic in The Green Forum
Thanks for that post. Doesn't matter how cheap a new car is given most in NZ drive second hand cars, many thousands of which are over 10 year old imported Japanese cars. I drive one myself. Many cars are for sale on the side of the road for between $3,000 and $5,000 NZ $. Unless EVs can be bought at that price without costly battery changes IMO they ain't going to become very common. Without a doubt, road user charges will be brought in if they became more common on the road, so they won't be cheaper to drive. -

I'm not against EVs at all, but they are too expensive new, batteries are too expensive to replace and they don't have sufficient range if driving long distances. Solve the battery problem and fix it so one can recharge ( or replace batteries on a slide out / slide in basis ) in less than 15 minutes and no q for a charging point, and I would think differently, as long as they were equivalent price second hand. -

You are obviously rich. Apparently you have no idea how poor people have to live. I could turn down a 50k saving easily given the cost even at that price is unaffordable. -

LOL, my previous car was 10 years old when I bought it and I had it for 20 years. If I knew I'd have to replace the batteries during that time I would not buy one. The one before that was already 20 years old when I bought it and I had it for 20 years. You write like someone that has no problem buying a new car, so what would you know about having to buy old cars? -
There is a time to be stealthy, as in when on a combat mission. Far as I know the plane was NOT on a combat mission, ergo no reason not to track it. More to the point, I wonder why the pilot ejected and left the plane on auto pilot, which might have resulted in civilian deaths if it crashed on a built up area? It obviously was not in immediate danger as it flew for some distance before crashing. I would not like to be that pilot, given he lost a rather expensive piece of kit. Hopefully the black box will explain all.

IMO by putting her in charge he's not taking it seriously, as he probably understands that the chances of HER actually reducing shootings is ( IMO ) zero. Let's remember that he put her in charge of the southern border which has become a disaster. According to Al Jazeera nearly 9,000 undocumented immigrants illegally entered the US at the southern border in last 24 hours. Seems like she just ignored the problem.

When he was talking in the meeting with Zelenski he didn't even try to hide that he was reading directly off the speech he was holding. I'd say his going to meet the strikers is because he's afraid they might vote for Trump. I don't believe he cares about actual workers given one of the first things he did as POTUS was to cancel the XL pipeline with the loss of every worker's job ( and it's not as though he's ever done any real work himself since he went into politics a very long time ago ).

Not sure what you mean by that. Biden and netanyahu were having a cosy chat last time I saw them together on tv. Didn't look like Biden was threatening to cut aid if they didn't stop stealing Palestinan land for illegal settlements. -
IMO NATO seized on the Ukrainian conflict in an attempt to keep themselves relevant in a post Soviet era. Without a purpose, the money might stop, which would upset the US military industrial complex somewhat. We saw that when a certain US president lambasted the NATO allies for not paying their agreed share.
