Thank you for your sensible reply on my behalf. I have that poster on ignore, so I didn't see it myself. Of course when I said someone has to pay I was referring to money, and the Ukrainians are not buying western munitions. One wonders if they will have pay after it's all over, just like Britain had to pay for the US aid during WW2?

Whatever Putin's faults, IMO he isn't insane and IMO it would be insanity to try and take the entire Ukraine, so I agree that he went into it to get what he has now. All he has to do is hold the present line till the west gives up and stops supplying Ukraine at huge financial detriment to their economies. Poland has already announced that they have given all they can. IMO it's just a matter of time.

Hunter Biden indicted on three federal gun charges

A lot of that from your side of the fence as well. -
From this forum. Doesn't look good for continued support at the same level. McCarthy vows to strip Ukraine money from Pentagon bill after Greene ‘no’ vote By Social Media, 2 hours ago Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced Friday that he will strip funding for Ukraine out of a Pentagon spending bill

Ah yes, the man that likes to spend other people's money. Congress may have different ideas and it is THEY that control the money, not Biden. IF Biden does manage to send them ( a single missile costs around $850,000 ) and the Ukrainians escalate the war by attacking targets in Russia it may come back to haunt him, when the war escalates to the use of nukes. https://kyivindependent.com/ukraine-comes-close-to-getting-atacms-how-will-it-change-the-war/ The White House also cited concerns over limited U.S. stockpiles of ATACMS and unnecessary escalation with Moscow in case they would be used to attack Russian territory among the reasons to reject Ukraine’s bid for the coveted missiles. .............................. According to Borsari, other issues explaining the hesitancy could be the ATACMS cost-effectiveness per round, with a single missile costing around $850,000 compared to just $160,000 for a GMLRS rocket

EVs Might Not Cost A Butt Load Soon
thaibeachlovers replied to placeholder's topic in The Green Forum
People are so dumb. They don't want new power stations but will scream when the cost of electricity goes up. As usual the people most affected by rising prices will be those least able to pay more. Life in this brave new world sucks. -
EVs Might Not Cost A Butt Load Soon

The big reason that EVs are not going to sell well as second hand cars is that the cost of replacing batteries is so high. Many if not most drive second hand cars. -

Diesel is quite a bit cheaper than petrol in NZ, so the road user charges are to help fix the roads that the trucks destroy. Probably because farmers use diesel tractors off road so one way to stop them having to pay the road user charge if not using the roads. -
Outrage over Abbas's antisemitic speech on Jews and Holocaust
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Perhaps not, but the Romans named the region Palestine, so the people that lived there were Palestinians. https://www.hudson.org/node/44363 The ancient Romans pinned the name on the Land of Israel. In 135 CE, after stamping out the province of Judea’s second insurrection, the Romans renamed the province Syria Palaestina—that is, “Palestinian Syria.” -

Far as I know they did so because of Palestinian support for Saddam. -

Just as well you ain't in charge on here then. Anyway, just because you think you know it all, it doesn't mean you do, or perhaps you do, but are biased, so don't want opposing views heard on here. IMO the way the Palestinians are treated is appalling by any standards of decency. If it were any nation treating them so except Israel they would have been penalised years ago, but the US support negates any opposition based on it's IMO one eyed support for Israel. -
and that would only increase his support and financial contributions, as has happened every time they come up with yet another attempt to cancel him. I for one am happy that the forces of hatred are having to consider the consequences of any over reach. This is getting very interesting. I wonder when the movie is going to come out?
