It's an old trick and not just in LOS. Buy a drink at the movies and it's ice to top of cup before any drink goes in. In 7 11 I always made a show of adding ice, though it was minimal.

I don't think he's been set up, but as the media are not covering for him on this I suspect they don't want him to stand again and are letting this run so he won't be able to. I doubt Harris will be the chosen one either, so who's a likely candidate for 24? Will Trump run- I hope not. As you say, the documents themselves are not the important thing here. IMO it's the getting caught doing the same as Trump while lambasting Trump for it that's the issue.

I've lived in many countries, but none had the "appeal" of Thailand. The only equivalent I've heard of is the Philippines, but apparently very violent, so wouldn't want to live there if Thailand available. Heard bad things about Cambodian beaches so that's out. Western countries- never even an option. It's Thailand by default.

Ah, is the excuse going to be that some completely unknown person took classified documents from Biden's time as VP and unknown to Biden or anyone in Biden's staff placed them in his own garage. I can only hope the GOP pursue this to the same extent as the Dems did with everything pertaining to Trump ( I'm pretty sure they will ). I expect this event has given some impetus to the GOP, who have been somewhat on the back foot recently. One wonders how the response would have looked had the Dems won the House ( actually one is pretty sure it would have been quietly ignored ).
