  1. LOL. I had 2 relationships and in both the love was only going one way, from me to them. They sure fooled me though ( till I wised up ). I did get to know them, as their first persona, but they changed to something else.
  2. No will be about it. Voice cloning is already being used to scam people. It's already here and most of us probably never even noticed. Wait till AI is used to break bank codes....................... So much for on line banking.
  3. If all he needs is a bar stool and a burger sounds like he's got life sorted to me. Us idiots that live in the rat race are the real losers IMO. Endlessly running in the hamster wheel buying <deleted> and conforming to the lemming life sucks.
  4. The temple south of Lamphun where they filmed part of a Rambo movie ( think number 3 ) up on a high hill above the temple of the Budha's feet. Sadly, none of the monks remembered anything about making the movie there, and there was nothing to commemorate it. I could have lived at that temple rest of my life if able- a fantastic vibe there. If anyone chooses to go there, drive up, as the staircase is probably longer than the one up to Doi Suthep.
  5. Disagree. Thai cities are IMO all lookalike concrete jungles with no character. Thai countryside if great though, but the further from tourists the better. Only thing I liked about Bkk was Nana.
  6. Best places I visited were far from tourists and preferably where I was the only farang. Best trip, a forest road from Phrae to Sirikit dam on which we were advised not to travel ( very bad road, very bad road ) by locals. The road was indeed bad, and not for unskilled drivers with an unsuitable vehicle, but even there, Thais on their trusty motorbikes had carved out smallholdings. Never got past second gear for the entire 3 hour trip in the forest. Bliss.
  7. Are there any forums not inhabited by some stupid or nasty abusive posters? At least on this forum I have been able to put most on ignore, which improved my on forum time.
  8. Don't need to follow politics to feel that way. Just read a newspaper or watch tv news and it might make one all of them.
  9. Assuming humanity doesn't pollute itself to extinction, AI can be either the best thing that can happen for us, IF it's given to ALL of us, or the worst thing possible if the uber rich keep it for themselves. Only have to look at the US actors reason for striking to know what's in store if the rich <deleted> keep it for themselves.
  10. I don't need to watch anyone to know that humanity has a bleak future. I don't think we are in for a terminator ending, as likely to have polluted ourselves to extinction before that could happen. Only thing I'm going to regret missing out on as I depart this life are programmable sexbots.
  11. If they are on ignore they are welcome to make an annoying noise as long as they like. If I don't see them, they ain't annoying me.
  12. Not bothered either way.
  13. For anyone that likes fantasy and sword shows, IMO Game of Thrones series 1 to 7 could not be beat. Pity about series 8. I really wanted to see Arya stick the pointy end of Needle into Cersi, but they gave Cersi a nicer ending- too woke by far.
  14. They use architects in Thailand? Looking at the standard of some buildings it looks more like Somechai's 5 year old nephew designed them. Seriously, I'm sure the billion baht projects use qualified professionals, but for less prestigious constructions perhaps not so. If there was a serious earthquake in Pattaya, I'm sure that not many buildings would still be standing after.
  15. Perhaps the problem isn't balcony heights in LOS, but the drunken yobs that have no common sense. If they banned those that are likely to get drunk and fall off buildings from entry, it would make for a better experience in LOS, IMO.
  16. The topic isn't about balconies in the UK. Thais are under no obligation to cater for farang heights. In Thailand people are expected to have responsibilities for their own actions- it's not a nanny state like the west ( thank goodness ).
  17. I stayed in many places over decades, visited many tourist attractions, and in general your contention is not correct, IMO. Indeed, some were deficient, but not the majority. I did not stay in places over 1,000 baht normally.
  18. Well, OK then, but if we are going to use likes to prove something, I've got 47,485.
  19. I'll take my own advice and you're off to the ignored list.
  20. Ah, the weak point! As of now, not much actually being done, despite many hot air conferences, pledges that are not kept, problems with windmills and electric cars, and the weather still keeps changing. The real sticking point is that governments probably know that if they actually did something that might make a difference, taxes would have to go up and they might be unemployed next election. To be implemented, has to be affordable, effective and acceptable.
  21. Are you not a farang too?
  22. and how about your posting record?
  23. Not up to you to tell any poster what to do. If you dislike a particular poster, you know where the ignore function is.
  24. Depends what you like though. Blacklist was very enjoyable. Even CSI was entertaining. Not all newer shows are a waste of time. I liked Game of Thrones as much as anyone. However, I've moved away from western shows to Japanese and Korean ones, which are not yet bogged down with wokeness. Netflix has a reasonable selection.
