  1. What happened to the legal ruling that farangs can't buy property in a Thai's name that was talked about some years ago? It was to stop farang's circumventing the law to buy property. Was it never law, or have they just ignored it?
  2. OK, but some indication that it was joke, like a smiley face or a LOL would have been helpful. Yes Saudis are very rich and were blessed by Allah for living over a large puddle of oil, else IMO they'd still be riding camels and living in mud houses. There was a saying when I lived there in the 90s that their grandfather rode a camel, and their sons will ride a camel, but obviously the oil didn't run out yet. Perhaps their great grandsons will be riding camels again.
  3. Obviously the jewel theft and subsequent murders of Saudi officials has ceased to be a thing for which the Saudis refused to allow citizens to visit Thailand, but was it officially forgiven or just quietly forgotten about?
  4. I suspect not for the Thais that have to deal with them. Not one of the people I worked with would have stayed in Saudi except for the very large pay packets.
  5. Yeah, I flew back from Bahrain with a sozzled Saudi next to me.
  6. Do you base that on a fact? I lived in Riyadh and they didn't have guns, except for the police, so why would they have them in Thailand?
  7. That's confusing. If one leaves the country without a re entry isn't the visa cancelled, and no one has to give a reason to leave Thailand.
  8. I obtained a non O from a consulate based on marriage ( they didn't do them based on retirement- I'd have had to go to embassy to do that ), but when I got divorced I didn't leave and when the visa expired I got an extension based on retirement. Perhaps I was lucky- who knows, after all, a non O is a non O whatever it's based on.
  9. I've yet to see any demonstrator for the right to dispose of the unborn foetus as if it were a malignant tumour with a sign including "in the first trimester". Whatever happened to contraception? It's like the pill was never invented.
  10. Put them all in detention till they are vetted. The Australian solution works, so worth it to stop more paying criminals to put them on unseaworthy boats, IMO.
  11. LOL. I'm old enough to remember the "farmyard" web sites on the internet but they've been banned for a very long time. The first "blue movie" I ever saw involved an elephant! It was a very small elephant though.
  12. Meanwhile in real life...................... Theories don't make me happy the way a pretty body next to me when I woke up did.
  13. I certainly was. I loved sugar in all its guises, and I ate mountains of it till I had to stop. If I was able to would I eat loads and loads of the stuff again, of course I would. The Arabs used to think that honey ( sugar ) was a gift from God, but they never envisioned commercial amounts of sugar that is making so many diabetic and rotting their children's teeth.
  14. Oh so true. People in western countries have no excuse as all went to school ( or at least had the opportunity ), but still engage in bad practices. The Romans perfected divide and rule and it's been used ever since to control the mob. Only difference between us and the Roman mob IMO is that we exchanged simulated death in media for real death in the circus.
  15. Any diagrams about a doggy tryst?
  16. If you have a bucket list don't dilly dally about getting it done, as once old age catches up you may not be able to do it any more. I used to love tramping but no way I'd ever last the distance now. BTW 54 is young. I was fine for another 16 years after that.
  17. Might be confusing it with Koh Tao. I'd never go in the water anywhere near Ao Nang. Probably as polluted as Pattaya bay. I passed through Ao Nang many times on the way to Railay 20 years ago and it's probably much worse now.
  18. The problem with the undocumented economic ones IMO is that as long as some are able to stay in the EU and send news back home, more will follow. The only solution, IMO, is to find a way to prevent undocumented economic migrants staying in Europe, whether by returning them to point of departure, sending them back home, or the Australian solution which has apparently worked.
  19. Exactly, and they never nag, which is always a good thing.
  20. Why so? People collect all sorts of things, so dolls ( NB they are not sex dolls ) isn't that big a deal unless one actually thinks they are real people. Perhaps he likes dressing girls up, and his real live GF doesn't like it, so he has both.
  21. You missed out that many of them like working in a bar, and it beats working in the fields for a living. In case you hadn't noticed it can be like going to a party every day, with the added benefit of possibly making a lot of money in a short time and sometimes even a holiday in Thailand or overseas paid for by the customer.
  22. I wasn't discussing the man, though why would a homosexual man be interested in anyone that looks like a woman?
  23. Thanks, but I will stick with what I'm comfortable with. I tried the snip and sketch and couldn't make it work as easily as snipping tool. Obviously I'm no computer expert and have no interest in putting in the time to become one- not enough life left to bother. If I can do the limited things I use a computer for that's good enough for me.
  24. If they didn't psychology would be impossible. People go through similar development stages and the stages of such as grief are universal.
