Your side often complains when the opposition goes off topic, so I am just returning the complaint. I never said I didn't like the post, and if every off topic was reported the mods wouldn't have enough time in the day to deal with them all. At my age either side of the bed is the wrong side.

The Chinese are a pragmatic race, so what comes out of their mouths does not mean they believe it. IMO they will say whatever they think will be of benefit to to themselves.

IMO they are both <deleted><deleted>. I've been to both extensively, but they became over touristed, over built and wrecked at the end of last century. Last time I visited Phuket was after the tsunami and they were rebuilding the same <deleted><deleted> again. Same on Phi Phi which now has to be the most ruined island in all of Thailand IMO. Sad how greed ruined Thai beaches.

I used to with my wife, but that was in Thai showers so space was not an issue. The only time I had the possibility of having a shower in a western style shower stall with an attractive young western female, I bottled it, much to my lasting regret. She was a mountaineer, so the possibilities were mind blowing.

Seriously? I don't care what they have concluded. It makes no difference to me, as someone that can't do anything about it. If the world's governments can't come up with anything other than more taxes and conferences in nice holiday resorts what can I do? I haven't had kids to pollute the planet, so IMO I have done my bit already.

Again, do we actually care if the Stratosphere is cooling? I for one do not. I'm more interested in what governments are doing to mitigate the effects and so far it's not much at all.

You were lucky then. I always took my rentals to the beach where they were as clueless about the area as I. Usually the most help they were was staying with the bags while I looked for a place to stay. Luckily I didn't have them along for their local knowledge.

If a one time per year cost is too much, should one wonder if they can afford to live there? I'm pretty sure it's cheap compared to a Thai trying to get a visa to live in the UK or other western countries.
