I am extremely disappointed in Charles. I had hoped that he would do the right thing and not seek the crown so William can save the monarchy from insignificance. IMO it's sad that Charles is so determined to be crowned that he can't see that HE ( IMO ) is the threat to the monarchy surviving. Also, he's doing to William what was done to him and making William wait and wait to become King. IMO Charles should retire to southern France and live out his last days in the sun. He and his wife are never going to be popular, IMO.

As long as people keep borrowing to go, the business people that run unis are going to keep demanding high costs. They are in it to make money, and not a charitable institution. By Biden making it easier to keep paying large, nothing is going to change on costs, IMO. The cost is just transferred from the student to the general taxpayer. Perhaps if people learned to be plumbers and electricians instead of "media studies" the country would be better off for it.

As to whether uni students actually understand the "bigger picture" is open to debate. Human society existed for centuries without people getting degrees in "media studies" or some such. After universities existed people like doctors and engineers learned how to cure people and make things. Despite many more people going to uni now they haven't been able to cure cancer or bring peace to the world. I don't see sensible decisions being made, so I can not agree with your opinion that lots of people going to uni is a "good thing" if it's just about how to get rich after.

The soul is what makes us "us", an animal with imagination and free will. Some say that it's life force per se, but I don't really believe that as I believe a soul is an individual thing. If not for our soul, IMO we'd just be a hairless ape looking for berries to eat.

The evidence is all about you if you choose to look for it. However, that's something you have to do for yourself as it's a bit too complicated for me to give you a guide book on it. However, you could look at a few nice sunsets and wonder at the glory that created them, or look at a starry starry sky and think of all the countless trillions of stars out there and how they came to be. BTW, if we have to have evidence ( that would satisfy you ) of God to believe, IMO we don't have faith.

I didn't mean to imply that people are not friendly, but I was referring to the lovely and genuine smile that used to be everywhere- that left long ago. It was why people referred to Thailand as Land of Smiles. IMO there was still sanuk when I departed for good a few years ago, but nothing like as much as last century as Thailand became more westernized and went through many social upheavals.

IMO it's fair enough. 17 is too young to get married anyway, IMO. It's not like they are making it the age of consent, though it might have an effect on kids that "had to get married" because they couldn't be bothered using contraceptives.
