  1. I'm of upper middle class origins, went to the best private schools, joined the military for a few years, became a nurse for the rest of my working life. If that makes me a working class stiff of poor educational background, so be it. BTW, I very much doubt that your opinion of ASEANNOW's best and brightest posters is the same as my own. I would probably be accurate to say 180 degrees opposed.
  2. Haven't drunk alcohol for 30 years and don't do illegal drugs. Next?
  3. Depends on the social life, doesn't it? Spending time socialising with BGs is not the same as playing tennis with hiso Thais. I spent a lot of time on TVF during the 2000s because I was at work and the nature of my work allowed me plenty of time to post on TVF during the day. When I lived in LOS, I spent less time on it because I didn't have a computer on line, and had to use internet cafes. The last year when I lived in an hotel I spent too much time on it because it was too hot to go out and I had wifi. I spend too much time on it now, in a vain attempt to keep some sort of link to the country I loved alive. Eventually I may tire of it and do something more productive None of the above is proof that I bash Thai males. I just wasn't interested in making friends with them.
  4. LOL. You are using the posters on here to come to a conclusion about all farang males. The posters on here would be a minority of farang males living in LOS. If you are confining your observations to posters on this forum, you should say so.
  5. Other than saying not to drink with Thai males, I doubt I've ever bashed Thai males generally, though I have had problems with individual Thai males, as with males of many countries. Adding 2+2 and coming up with 2,000. Many farangs live in Pattaya and spend no time whatsoever in bars or any other thing related to prostitution. Some do and some don't. Based on your argument, any males living near King's Cross station in London could be a monger as hookers operate in that vicinity.
  6. Doesn't matter how you reached those conclusions, if you can't prove those %. Even if correct, it's still your opinion. I'm often accused of not giving a link when I only giving an opinion, and you are claiming your stats as fact.
  7. I had many temporary BG GFs over the years, and none ( bar one ) asked me for more than bus fare when leaving. I'm certain that most of the guys that had problems did so because they didn't take their time and just rushed into it without checking that the girl wasn't a bad un. The one exception was a naive girl new to the scene that thought that after one night together I was going to get her a passport and take her to live with me in home country.
  8. LOL. Many of the girls love the lifestyle. They get to party every night, work with their friends, and get paid for doing what they do for free with Thai guys. Sometimes they even get an all paid holiday to a nice beach, and if really lucky a holiday in a western country. The looking for a husband is probably over, like you say, but when a lot of men got big payouts from selling the house after divorce, the pickings were large when those men came to LOS looking for lurve. I may be wrong, but I doubt men walk away with much anymore now.
  9. Anyone thinks a bar girl doesn't need to be paid needs their head examined. It's her JOB!!!!!!!!!! How does Cheap Charlie looking for free sex think she pays the rent, bills, etc? I had a long term BG for 8 years. Never paid her a satang when not there, and standard rate when together on my holidays. Worked well for both of us- saved me having to look around every holiday for a new companion, and she trusted me not to try any Cheap Charlie BS. Eventually she married some rich guy, and good luck to her.
  10. Most bars allow a long term one off bar fine, which works out cheaper than daily if keeping her a long time.
  11. You have been advised to go somewhere, rent short time and look around. You probably won't find what you want on the phone. Up to you if you take the advice you have been given.
  12. What the <deleted> are you on about? Most if not all receptionists on a tourist island will speak English.
  13. You keep making incorrect statements as if they are fact, so one wonders if you've ever been anywhere on Phangan other than Rin beach. You claimed to know Than Sadet, but had to admit never been there.
  14. Would help to know where moving from, but if you are in Thailand have you considered renting a pickup or van on a one way basis?
  15. A very, very long time since I stayed on Samui, bar an overnight on Mae Nam ( no longer cheap and cheerful ) while waiting to catch a ferry. I used to love Chaweng ( despite the overhead flight path ), but it went up market ( about the time they sold Charlies Hut and stopped showing vdos in the restaurants- putting a mall in was when they really sold their soul for greed ) and unlovable late last century, so I moved my preference to Phangan which retained the more rustic feel, and certainly less flashpackers with their entitled attitude. Way more loveable ( except for the excrescence behind Rin beach ). I remember the time I realised the dream was over for Samui- I was on the car ferry from Don Sak and a large truck loaded with rebar was on board. I said to myself that it was time to look elsewhere, and Phangan was only a short ferry ride further.
  16. They never caused a problem in Pattaya that I was aware of ( unlike those from a hotter region ), and their totty is generally of a high standard.
  17. Do tell. Is it not a fact that the last thing any Ukrainian will be doing at present is holiday in Thailand? I understand that no Ukrainian man of fighting age is even allowed to leave the country.
  18. Somewhat bold to predict numbers, but I certainly hope for such a result. IMO it's long past time for Biden's agenda to be stopped. While I'm not American, and not concerned by US internal politics, America is needed to protect our way of life in other countries, and IMO BIden puts us at risk.
  19. I agree and have said the same many times on this forum. I only said that it's looking good, which is not saying that they will win.
  20. He said only that it was a convincing argument, which is IMO hardly a "conclusion". Of course you can disagree with the article itself.
  21. LOL. Surely you are not claiming that an increase in efficiency by electric cars ( a tiny, tiny number of vehicles worldwide ) is going to make any difference to world pollution? I'm pretty sure car numbers are increasing, not decreasing, so any increase in efficiency is cancelled out by greater numbers of vehicles.
  22. Speaking of election surprises, it will be a surprise if the Democrats keep the house. It's looking good for the GOP taking control of the house and reining in the Biden agenda. Senate is a toss up, apparently.
  23. I forgot to add that all non perishable cargo could be transported by sailing ship. New technology means that they don't need large crews. They would have engines, but only used in the event of no wind. Ships put massive amounts of pollution into the air.
  24. Ooh, Putin must be quaking in his boots at that "strongly worded rebuke" NOT.
  25. IMO meaningless because whatever the cause, what can we do that would actually make a difference? Even if we stopped using any fossil fuel yesterday, it would take decades, if not centuries to make an iota of difference IMO. Of course it wouldn't matter to many as millions/ ?billions would die from lack of food, given agriculture is almost entirely dependent on fossil fuel to grow, process and transport to where food is eaten.
