  1. That's why we have hospices.
  2. Go back to Thailand and live the life till I couldn't.
  3. I'm not depressed. I'm sad, but there are no pills for sadness. If they ever get around to making m j legal for recreational use I'll be stoned the rest of my life. Chill.
  4. Ever considered that I don't need your advice? I am still able to put my pants on all by myself every day. I'm a big boy and can make my own decisions without being told what to do by you. Certainly don't need your criticism. Bye.
  5. 55555555555555 You could help me. Just send me 100,000 baht.
  6. At the risk of being subject to much "advice", I live in yesterday and wish tomorrow never came. Why do you think I keep posting on this forum? It's to keep my link with Thailand alive. Not for this forum, Thailand would fade away like everything else in my life. I will not go to my last great adventure fighting to stay a little longer.
  7. 5555555555555555 You think I want to spend my month in Thailand by myself and living in some second rate guest house? That budget would last just 3 days for totty alone.
  8. Perhaps but he doesn't mention that. I try not to add more to the OP than was written. Anyway, being in a relationship prevents self development IMO. To grow one needs to be alone.
  9. Yes I probably could visit Thailand every year if I economized on every other aspect of my life for the rest of the year, but the reason I don't is that it would be horrible having to leave again and return to this life for 11 months. I made my bed and now I must lie in it for better or worse.
  10. Don't get me wrong- my life was AMAZING and WONDERFUL. The problem is accepting a life that isn't.
  11. You are correct, but I'm conflicted. On the one hand I know it's in the past, but on the other hand I wish I was still living in the past, which was waaaaay more exciting than my present. The problem with having an exciting life is that when it's over, it's hard to accept. Had the most exciting thing in my life being a couple of weeks at Blackpool every year I might be happy with where I am now.
  12. Agree 100%- just happenstance/ luck. I started off in a dead end job and happened to work with a guy that had been in the military, so joined up and saw a lot of the world at tax payer's expense. In the military went skiing and met a guy had worked in Antarctica, so applied and went there- absolutely the best and most wonderful year of my entire life. Sooo, just luck that I ended up in Antarctica. Not for the guy been in the military I might have married the farmer's daughter I was going out with and spent my entire life milking cows. Coin toss that i ended up where I am now.
  13. I did good works most of my working life, but don't regard my life as a success, but had I chosen a different path perhaps I would. it was just a toss of the coin as to which path i took, so just luck, good or bad, like I said. Same as with my marriage- just bad luck that I met her, instead of a better woman. 10 minutes later and I might never have seen her.
  14. That's stating the bleeding obvious. I could fall down the steps and become a quad today.
  15. It's not and never was. Nurses are exploited because they are a female dominated occupation and are reluctant to go on strike. I didn't do it to make money. I did it because I was looking to do good works and help humanity- basically stupid, and someone should have given me a good slapping before I started the course. It was bad luck because I didn't have anyone to slap me till I wised up.
  16. OP says nothing about wanting relationships.
  17. Only problem is that it is a temple- early morning chanting ( do visitors have to attend? ), boring food, not much stimulation. I suggest a quiet beach like Than Sadet or Haad Khom. I could stay there for ever if possible.
  18. That could be so. I has sciatica caused by bending to get into a low car. I bought a higher car and pain went away.
  19. By home do you mean a western country? Many western doctors were all completely useless diagnosing my gout, and Thai consultant diagnosed it in 5 minutes. One English GP told me my knee pain was caused by being overweight, and didn't even bother doing a history- complete waste of space.
  20. Can't say how much I disagree with trying medication suggested on a forum first. Just go to the hospital- it's not expensive and see someone that can diagnose your problem. If you can't get satisfactory relief there, then that's the time to try other things.
  21. I went to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital where the doctors spoke excellent English, and the nurses were not involved in diagnosis. It was not necessary for me to to get written translations of anything. Nurses spoke good English and I did not need to speak Thai anywhere in the hospital, except cafeteria. Not expensive, but go early ( take passport as you will need to register ) and be prepared to wait all day to see a consultant. I took a good long book. I had my gout diagnosed in 5 minutes by consultant, despite it not being diagnosed by many western doctors over many years. You will probably not be able to see a consultant without seeing a lower doctor first, so two long waits. They have an acceptable cafeteria where I had lunch and tea breaks. Parking might be a problem so go there by public transport.
  22. Given that you have just made a psychological diagnosis of Mike Flynn, it's rather OTT to be casting aspersions at anyone doing so about other public figures. However, perhaps you have a psychiatric qualification and have carried out an investigation of Mike Flynn personally? Do tell.
  23. I no longer put any stock in anything the present government does, as the rhetoric is so obviously at odds with the reality, and so it is with the healthy eating curriculum. The evidence on the streets is that it's failing a significant number of kids. Trunacy is not just "some" kids, it's a serious problem not being dealt with. If the children that need it are not in school to get it, it's rather pointless. Am I right to assume that you are not currently in New Zealand?
  24. If the Labour party ( is it still New Labour, or did Tony so taint that that it's a banned word ? ) were actually worth it, I might agree, but IMO the only thing that could make Britain worse off would be putting that <deleted> party back in power. I haven't forgotten how they had it all for 10 years and IMO completely ruined the NHS.
  25. Given that apparently the games that we used to play during break have been banned because a child MIGHT get hurt ( no one was when i played them ), walking might be the only exercise that is acceptable. I certainly agree that some sort of exercise is necessary when some kids might spend the rest of the day outside school watching tv or or on an electronic device of some sort. I have to remind myself constantly when on threads like this that many children have good parents that do feed them well, take an interest in their education and take them to sporting activities. The children that have been failed seem to take up most of the news coverage here, especially when out ramraiding shops in the early hours of the morning. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/auckland-ram-raids-12-year-old-among-ram-raiders-arrested-after-targeting-a-liquor-store/CEKCJ4EPFO4JUJA3ZCTHLQDM6M/ A 12-year-old is among a group of youngsters who have been arrested after ram raiding an Auckland liquor store.
