  1. The Nobel Peace Prize is intended for a person who, in the opinion of the judges, has made a particular notable attempt to further the cause of peace in their particular area. It is not a political award to be lobbied for by the supporters of a particular political figure, political party, country or regime! Often it may be awarded to support and publicise the efforts of someone who is relatively unknown, but should perhaps be better known; it may also be awarded in an attempt to extend a measure of protection to a persecuted or threatened campaigner.
  2. A particularly remarkable collective meltdown. "Playing the man, not the ball" comes to mind. Trump (and Trumpism) has, typically, turned it into being about himself, as so often to the embarrassement of America.
  3. It is rarely indeed that I post in support of @Yagoda, rarely indeed, and I dont condone the typically inflamatory (if basically accurate) way he makes his point; but your effective support for attempts to find justification for the foul savage actions of the 7th of October 2023 reflect incredibly badly on you and your values.
  4. Did you have a lot of money staked on The Fragrant Leader winning this prize? It certainly seems to have annoyed you somewhat!
  5. The Fragrant Leader couldnt even pronounce Azerbaijan, and he thought the other party was Albania! A mere 3000km apart, seperated by Turkey (quite a big country actually) and Greece! Muppets?
  6. Farmers struggle under Trump's tariffs. But he has a plan ... or possibly a concept of a plan...
  7. You know full well. Incidentally loser is 5 letters. 5 comes after 4 but before 6!
  8. Evidence? Pish, prosecutions are based on The Fragrant Leaders gut instincts (what a disturbing thought when you pause to consider it)! Besides, who cares about Ms Halligans eligibility to prosecute? She is definitely hot, and possibly "belt fed mortar" material! This is the brave new America, led bu the man who is building a multi million pound extension to the White House just to hold his balls!
  9. Two girls are killed, and you turn to this! You really are a four letter word aren't you!
  10. Ah bless, an intellectual willy waving contest! May I pre-emptively rule myself out? I honestly have no idea what my IQ is; although I do know some long words like "wheelbarrow" and "marmalade"!
  11. I really am not sure whether to laugh or cry!

Frankly few if any under the age of 35 watch "conventional media" on TV.
  13. What is the "bounty" payable for refusing to let them use your toilet?
  14. Quite normal for the USA, unloading vast amounts of ordinance from a great height on the population with whose leaders you have an issue. a classic example of "fighting for peace is like <deleted> for virginity"!
  15. JAG replied to bubblegum's topic in Political Soapbox
It is certainly a logical conclusion given the clear attempts to stir up trouble in States and Cities which have elected governments which will not follow his line. Of course there is also the question as to what part conventional political logic plays in any of the Fragrant Leaders decision making progresses! He is certainly formenting as many divisions within the US as he can. He has created a large if fairly ragtag alphabet soup of a variety of agencies which have shall we say been diverted from their supposed Federal law enforcement roles in specific areas, geographically and legally. This political "militia" is enought to create unrest, but probably not enough to put it down. For that he needs the military, either/and federalised National Guard or the standing Army. For them to really come into play he needs an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act. When I say "he" remember there are two (at least) groups in the game. Trump himself, bolstered by his remarkable collection of bizarre stooges, needs an excuse to be in control come the mid term and next general elections, if he loses control he faces possible impeachment, certain disgrace and possible further criminal proceedings if the full extent of his sexual peccadillos in decades past, and his efforts in office to cover them up. That one is not going to go away, and will make paying off a porn star with political funds and wildly overestimating his property values to obtain loans from banks look like parking tickets! Second, his main professional political support ( apart from the bizarre stooges and the "cult") need to keep control, to effect their changes - think Stephen Miller (4'10"!) and "Project 2025". So the mid term elections are critical. He, they, need to keep control. For that they need the military. He has already made a (clumsy) attempt to stamp his peculiar authority on them; expect more of that. Not civil war perhaps, but insurrection, manufactured or imagined, will meet his needs. That is why the Insurrection Act is firmly on the table. Civil war, that would be the Samson and Deliliah act if the wheels really do come off!
  16. I believe that the Nobel Peace Prize will be anounced on the 10th of October, which is 2 weeks before this peace conference! Stand by for Norway to be hit by punitive tarriffs on the 11th of October!
  17. Goebbels hmm? I rather think of him as the barking mad Captain Klenzendorf, as portrayed by Sam Rockwell in the Film "Jo Jo Rabbit"! Bizarre, fantastical, and utterly detached from reality!
  18. Tried oysters once - only the first three worked!
  19. I suppose it is a toss up between keeping her banged up so they can control what she is able to say, or pardoning her and hoping she sticks to a deal to stay silent. I don't excuse what she is accused of, but when her sentence is compared to the stringent efforts to suppress evidence which could implicate others in egregious participation in Epsteins antics...
  20. Ah Wiltshire - where "Dumb and Dumber" is a medical textbook rather than a comedy! There is a reason why quite large tracts of that county are used as an artillery range!
  21. Mind you if that happens any number of options will stop flying , all routes via Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China and Hong Kong.
  22. Bit rough on the Thai people who actually voted for someone else, virtually anyone else actually, but at least you are happy! Good to see that cronies and nepotism no longer have a place!
  23. They have had to diversify. All the teak and rosewood has gone.
